An Analytic Study on factors Affecting the School Nurse's Activities in Daegu City and Kyungpook Province (대구.경북지역 일부 양호교사의 업무수행에 미치는 요인분석)

  • This study is to analyze factors affecting the school nurse's activities. The survey was undertaken during Sept. 1-Nov. 30, 1986. The subjects were 137 school nurses from elementary, junior-high, and senior-high schools in Daegu City and Kyungppk Province. The results are as follows: 1. "A Evlauation Study on School Health Practice in Chonbuk Area" (전북지역 학교보건사업 개선을 위한 평가연구)

  • This study was designed to evaluate current level of school health practice in Chonbuk province and to analyze the relationship between school health practice and variables. All the subjects in this study were 140 schools themselves in Chonbuk province. Survey data was collected through the interviewed checklists from the widly accepted school health responsibilities of administration and practice and the direct observation by the interviewer. It was conducted from 1st of Nov. to 17 th of Dec, 1988. The major findings of this study are as follows: A. Level of school health practice was relatively low in score (Mean=64.5). $\cdot$ Healthful School Living -76.14 $\cdot$ School Health Service -71.29 $\cdot$ School Health Instruction -47.98 B. Nursing Faculty Competence and Nursing Faculty's Attitude for Lecture Evaluation (간호학교수의 교수능력과 강의평가에 대한 태도조사)

  • Nurse educators' competence is considered to be important in relation to the quality of education for nursing students. The purpose of this study was to identify the nursing faculty competence and attitude for lecture evalutaion, evlauated by nursing faculty. This article presented results focusing on South Korean nursing faculty's attutude for lecture evalutaion done by students and their opinion of the importance of nurse educator competence domains. The data collection was done from October, 2002 to August, 2003 and 151 subjects were used for the analysis. The Ideal Nursing Teacher Questionnaire was used to assess nurse faculty competence. The results showed that all of the lecture were evaluated and 59.6% of clinical practice was evaluated by nursing studuents. Nursing faculty thought that lecture evaluation by students was resonable, even though it was stressful. The most important among 5 domains of nurse educators' competence assessed by nursing faculty was nursing competence. Moreover nursing faculty responed that teaching skills domain and evaluation skills domain were more important than relationship with students domain and personality factors domain. Compared to young nursing faculty, nursing faculty who was old aged reported that nurse educators' competences in 4 domains of nursing competence, teaching skills, evaluation skills and relationship with students were more important.

A Study on Evaluation and Improvement of Long-term Care Hospitals for Changing Long-term Care Hospital Fee System (요양병원형수가제 전환에 대한 요양병원의 평가 및 개선방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate evaluation and improvement of long-term care hospitals for changing long-term care hospitals fee system. Data were collected from 104 CEOs in nationwide long-term care hospitals using structured self-administered questionnaires during August 17 to 31, 2009. Major results of the empirical analysis are as follows; first, to change fixed sum medical fee per day caused to decline the level of geriatric service in 87% of CEOs. Second, 79% of CEOs were dissatisfied with changing fixed sum medical fee per day, and 47% of them were dissatisfied with graded fee for doctor and nurse management. Finally, they suggested that to specialize and to differentiate of long-term care hospitals will drive to improve long-term care hospitals function and to measure workforce based on rate of filled vacancies will increase efficiency and productivity of doctor and nurse management.
