본 논문에서는 추적하고자 하는 관심객체를 일정한 크기의 블록으로 나누어 각 블록이 독립적으로 추적을 수행한다. 나누어진 각 블록들은 NCC(Normalized Cross Correlation)를 사용하여 통계적인 특성을 고려하여 움직임을 추정한다.

For the purpose of predicting credit card customer churn accurately through data analysis Detecting and tracking objects in continuous video is essential in self-driving cars, security and surveillance systems, sports analytics, medical image processing, and more. Correlation tracking methods such as Normalized Cross Correlation(NCC) and Sum of Absolute Differences(SAD) are used as an effective way to measure the similarity between two images. NCC, a representative correlation tracking method, has been useful in real-time environments because it is relatively simple to compute and effective. However, correlation tracking methods are sensitive to rotation and size changes of objects, making them difficult to apply to real-time changing videos. To overcome these limitations, this paper proposes an object tracking method using the Histogram of Oriented Gradients(HOG) feature to effectively obtain object data and the Convolution Neural Network(CNN) algorithm. By using the two algorithms, the shape and structure of the object can be effectively represented and learned, resulting in more reliable and accurate object tracking. In this paper, the performance of the proposed method is verified through experiments and its superiority is demonstrated.

There is growing interest in Vision-based video image matching owing to the constantly developing technology of unmanned-based systems. The purpose of this paper is the development of a fast and effective matching technique for the UAV oblique video image. We first extracted initial matching points using NCC (Normalized Cross-Correlation) algorithm and improved the computational efficiency of NCC algorithm using integral image. Furthermore, we developed a triangulation-based outlier removal algorithm to extract more robust matching points among the initial matching points. In order to evaluate the performance of the propose method, our method was quantitatively compared with existing image matching approaches. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method can process 2.57 frames per second for video image matching and is up to 4 times faster than existing methods. The proposed method therefore has a good potential for the various video-based applications that requires image matching as a pre-processing.

This paper introduces a method of measuring the displacement of a cable-stayed bridge using digital image processing (DIP). The validity of the DIP technique was confirmed by comparing the results with those obtained using a displacement meter and ANSYS analysis. The normalized cross-correlation (NCC) coefficient was used. 100 kgf and 200 kgf loading experiments were carried out, which showed that when the displacement is large, the reliability of the DIP technique is increased. That is, when the load was increased from 100 kgf to 200kgf, it decreased from 31% to 14% compared to the ANSYS results and from 14% to 4% compared to the displacement meter results. Therefore, the image processing method is able to measure the displacement sufficiently accurately.

Analysis of defect signals inside glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) was conducted through deconvolution of terahertz (THz) wave. The GFRP specimen with internal defects was manufactured and the THz signal was measured through the reflection mode of the Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy (THz-TDS) system. For deconvolution of the measured THz signal, the peak position of the THz signal was amplified through Normalized Cross Correlation (NCC) of the incident and detected THz signals. The position and intensity of the amplified peak were extracted as impulse, and the extracted signal of the impulse position was removed from the THz original signal. By repeating the process, the critical impulses, which represent boundary of the specimen, were derived. The deconvolution process was verified by confirming that the original THz signal without noise can be restored through the convolution of the critical impulses and the incident signal. From the derived critical impulses, the thickness of the internal defect in the GFRP was calculated through the detection time of impulses within 15 ㎛ accuracy.
With the recent increase in available high-resolution (< ~1 m) satellite SAR images, the demand for precise registration of SAR images is increasing in various fields including change detection. The registration between high-resolution SAR images acquired in different look angle is difficult due to speckle noise and geometric distortion caused by the characteristics of SAR images. In this study, registration is performed in two stages, coarse and fine, using the x-band SAR data imaged at staring spotlight mode of TerraSAR-X. For the coarse registration, a method combining the adaptive sampling method and SAR-SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) is applied, and three rigid methods (NCC: Normalized Cross Correlation, Phase Congruency-NCC, MI: Mutual Information) and one non-rigid (Gefolki: Geoscience extended Flow Optical Flow Lucas-Kanade Iterative), for the fine registration stage, was performed for performance comparison. The results were compared by using RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) and FSIM (Feature Similarity) index, and all rigid models showed poor results in all image combinations. It is confirmed that the rigid models have a large registration error in the rugged terrain area. As a result of applying the Gefolki algorithm, it was confirmed that the RMSE of Gefolki showed the best result as a 1~3 pixels, and the FSIM index also obtained a higher value than 0.02~0.03 compared to other rigid methods. It was confirmed that the mis-registration due to terrain effect could be sufficiently reduced by the Gefolki algorithm.
Calculating of matching cost is an important for efficient stereo matching. To investigate the performance of matching process, the concepts of the existing methods are introduced. Also we analyze the performance and merits of them. The simplest matching costs assume constant intensities at matching image locations. We consider matching cost functions which can be distinguished between pixel-based and window-based approaches. The Pixel-based approach includes absolute differences (AD) and sampling-intensitive absolute differences (BT). The window-based approach includes the sum of the absolute differences, the sum of squared differences, the normalized cross-correlation, zero-mean normalized cross-correlation, census transform, and the absolute differences census transform (AD-Census). We evaluate matching cost functions in terms of accuracy and time complexity. In terms of the accuracy, AD-Census method shows the lowest matching error ratio (the best solution). The ZNCC method shows the lowest matching error ratio in non-occlusion and all evaluation part. But it performs high matching error ratio at the discontinuities evaluation part due to blurring effect in the boundary. The pixel-based AD method shows a low complexity in terms of time complexity.

Fast inspection of solder ball bumps in ball grid array (BGA) is an important issue in the flip chip bonding technology. Particularly, semiconductor industry has required faster and more accurate inspection of micron-size solder bumps in flip chip bonding, as the density of balls increase dramatically. In this paper, we describe an inspection approach of BGA balls by using 5-step ring illumination device and normalized cross-correlation (NCC) method. The images of BGA ball by the illumination device show unique and distinguishable characteristic contours by their 3-D shapes, which are called as "iso-slope contours". Template images of reference ball samples can be produced artificially by the hybrid reflectance model and 3D data of balls. NCC values between test and template samples are very robust and reliable under well-structured condition. The 200 samples on real wafer are tested and show good practical feasibility of the proposed method.
In this paper, a target signal detection method using multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm is proposed. The MUSIC algorithm is a subspace-based direction of arrival (DOA) estimation method. Using the inverse of the eigenvalue-weighted eigen spectra, the algorithm detects the DOAs of multiple sources. To apply the algorithm in target signal detection for GSC-based beamforming, we utilize its spectral response for the DOA of the target source in noisy conditions. The performance of the proposed target signal detection method is compared with those of the normalized cross-correlation (NCC), the fixed beamforming, and the power ratio method. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the conventional ones in receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves.

This paper introduces a digital image processing(DIP) method as a method for measuring the displacement of pylon. The comparison of DIP results and ANSYS analysis results verified the validity of the image processing technique. Normalized cross-correlation(NCC) coefficient was used and experiments were performed three times. It shows that the displacement difference was 22% and 5% compared to ANSYS results. Therefore, the image processing method is expected to be able to measure the displacement of pylon sufficiently.
