  • 800kV GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) was first developed by Hyosung Corporation in Korea at Dec. 1998 and is going to be installed first in the Dangjin Thermal Plant. We intoned to verify the structural safety of 800kV GIS under seismic load. The modal analysis of 800kV GIS has been carried out to obtain the natural frequency and mode shape. PATRAN was used for mode)ing exactly 800kV GIS Geometry. 800kV GIS FE(Finite Element) model was constructed of shell elements for the enclosures and beam elements for the conductors and the support insulators NASTRAN was used for analyzing the normal modes of 800kV GIS FE model.

자계 센서를 이용한 원격 가스 검침 시스템 (Remote gas meter-reading system using magnetic sensor)

  • 본 논문은 자계센서를 이용하여 원격 가스 검침 시스템을 구현하였다. 현재까지 개발되고 있는 스캔 방식은 온도, 습도, 분진, 진동에 영향을 많이 받는다. 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문은 가스의 유입량에 따라 회전하는 체인지기어의 가장자리에 영구자석을 부착하고, 계량기 몸체의 외벽에 영구자석의 자기장을 측정할 수 있는 홀 소자를 설치하였다. 체인지 기어에 의해 영구자석이 회동하여 홀 소자에 근접할 때 자기장을 검출하고, 그 검출된 신호를 카운트함으로써 가스 사용량을 검침하였다. 이 방식은 온도, 습도, 분진, 진동에 영향을 받지 않았으며, 높은 정확도를 나타내었다.

Influence of viscous phenomena on steel-concrete composite beams with normal or high performance slab

  • The aim of the paper is to present some results about the influence of rheological phenomena on steel-concrete composite beams. Both the cases of slab with normal and high performance concrete for one and two-span beams are analysed. A new finite element model that allows taking into account creep, shrinkage and cracking in tensile zones for concrete, along with non-linear behaviour of connection, steel beam and reinforcement, has been used. The main parameters that affect the response of the composite beam under the service load are highlighted. The influence of shrinkage on the slip over the supports is analysed, together with the cracking along the beam. At last, by performing a collapse analysis after a long-term analysis, the influence of rheological phenomena on the ductility demand of connection and reinforcement is analysed.

  • Model updating is a very active research field, in which significant efforts has been invested in recent years. Model updating methodologies are invariably successful when used on noise-free simulated data, but tend to be unpredictable when presented with real experimental data that are-unavoidably-corrupted with uncorrelated noise content. In this paper, Reanalysis using frequency response functions for correlating and updating dynamic systems is presented. A transformation matrix is obtained from the relationship between the complex and the normal frequency response functions of a structure. The transformation matrix is employed to calculate the modified damping matrix of the system. The modified mass and stiffness matrices are identified from the normal frequency response functions by using the least squares method. Full scale pseudo dynamic pier test is employed to illustrate the applicability of the proposed method. The result indicate that the damping matrix of correlated finite element model can be identified accurately by the proposed method. In addition, the robustness of the new approach uniformly distributed measurement noise is also addressed.

Numerical analysis of the receding contact problem of two bonded layers resting on an elastic half plane

  • The present study deals with the numerical analysis of the symmetric contact problem of two bonded layers resting on an elastic half plane compressed with a rigid punch. In this context, Finite Element Method (FEM) based software called ANSYS and ABAQUS are used. It is assumed that the elastic layers have different elastic constants and heights and the external load is applied to the upper elastic layer by means of a rigid stamp. The problem is solved under the assumptions that the contact between two elastic layers, and between the rigid stamp are frictionless, the effect of gravity force is neglected. To validate the constructed model and obtained results a comparison is performed with the analytical results in literature. The numerical results for normal stresses and shear stresses are obtained for various parameters of load, material and geometry and are tabulated and illustrated.

  • This paper described the forces analysis of a hybrid linear pulse motor (HLPM) with high accuracy and repeatability. The HLPM is fed from a phase current by microstepping drive. The finite element method (FEM) is employed for calculating the force. The forces between mover(forcer) and stator(platen) have been calculated using the virtual work method. The detent force, rate of tooth width to tooth pitch and magnetic saturation were analyzed to considered the distortion characteristics of static thrust. The thrust to displacement produced a high pulsating force while the normal force is much higher than the thrust force.

  • 일정수심에 해역에 주기적인 파장의 사련이 있는 겨우 파의 반사특성을 경계요소법의 선형요소에 의해 해석하였다. 파랑은 2차원 선형파 이론으로부터 해석하였으며, 입사파 방향은 사련상에 임의방향 (직각입사 또는 경사입사)으로 진행한다고 가정하였다. 본 계산의 신뢰도를 검증하기 위하여 기존의 실험적, 이론적 결과 및 수치결과와 각각비교하였다. 직각입사파에 대한 본 수치계산 결과, 사련의 파장이 수면파장의 1/2인 경우에 발생하는 Bragg공진반사가 잘 예측되었다.

  • A light rail transit, using a linear induction motor, is generally composed with reaction plates along railroad track and the three phase primary on the vehicle. This linear induction motor is driven to keep clearance between the primary and the secondary of the ground for preventing any contact. Therefore efficiency and power factor is very low. In addition, the reaction plate installed on the ground throughout entire railway is impossible to keep uniform gap and it may cause system deterioration. In this paper, A rotary-type small-scale model of a linear induction motor for various characteristic analysis is designed. Thrust force, normal force and input current of the model by air-gap variation have been analyzed by using a Finite Element Method (FEM). The effects of air-gap variation on system performance have been considered by analysis results.

A Fast Analytic Model of Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Machines with Static/Dynamic Axis Eccentricity

  • This paper presents a general analytical model to calculate the characteristics of axial-flux permanent-magnet machines with axis eccentricities. The radial and tangential magnetic flux densities in the air gap under normal conditions were first obtained using a combination of Maxwell's equations and Schwarz-Christoffel (SC) transformation. Next, equations for the radii were deduced to investigate the static/dynamic eccentricities. The back electromotive forces (EMFs) were calculated and compared with those obtained from finite element (FE) analysis. The analytical predictions show good agreement with the FE results. Detection approaches were obtained by comparing with normal conditions, and the analytical model was verified experimentally.

Effect of nano-composite materials on repair of ligament injury in sports detoxification

  • Extraordinary properties of nanocomposites make them a primary replacement for many conventional materials. Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, which is a frequent surgery in sport activities, is one of the fields in which nanocomposites could be utilized. In the present study, the mechanical properties of different porous scaffolds made from graphene nano-composites are presented ad load bearing capacity of these materials is calculated using finite element method. The numerical results are further compared with experimental published data. In addition, several geometrical and material parameters are analyzed to find the best configuration of nanocomposite scaffolds in reconstruction of ACL. Moreover, coating of detoxification chemicals are extremely easier on the nano-structured materials than conventional one. Detoxification potential of nano-composites in the injured body are also discussed in detail. The results indicated that nano-composite could be successfully used in place of auto- and allografts and also instead of conventional metallic screws in reconstruction of ACL.
