  • In this paper, an optimal design method of clonal selection based Fuzzy-Neural Networks (FNN) model for complex and nonlinear systems is presented. The FNNs use the simplified inference as fuzzy inference method and Error Back Propagation Algorithm as learning rule. Also Advanced Clonal Selection (ACS) is proposed to find the parameters such as parameters of membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients. The proposed method is based on an Immune Algorithm (IA) using biological Immune System and The performance is improved by control of differentiation rate. Through that procedure, the antibodies are producted variously and the parameter of FNN are optimized by selecting method of antibody with the best affinity against antigens such as object function and limitation condition. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we use the time series data for gas furnace and traffic route choice process.

  • This paper presents the method for $H_{\infty}$ fuzzy controller design of discrete-time fuzzy Markovian jump systems with state and input time delays. The Takagi and Sugeno fuzzy model is employed to represent a delayed nonlinear system that possesses Markovian jump parameters. A stochastic mode dependent Lyapunov function is employed to analyze the stability and $H_{\infty}$ disturbance attenuation performance of the fuzzy Markovian jump systems with state and input time delays. A sufficient condition for the existence of fuzzy $H_{\infty}$ controller is given in terms of matrix inequalities. Also numerical example is presented to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed design method.

  • The CBTC(Communication based Train Control) system employed on 2.4GHz ISM band adopt the IEEE802.11.x standard. Therefor communication time delay, distortion and data losses will be produced. To overcome these problems, CPSK(Continuous Phase shift keying) modulated DS/SS(Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) transmitter with 908MHz carrier frequency is proposed. Through the eye diagram and scatter diagram the performance is analysed. And the phase noise characteristic of the local oscillator is measured about 60dBc/Hz, this means that the phase noise performance is very good compared to the signal. Reference frequency suppression of the 2nd local oscillator is 50dB below compared to the signal. Through the polarities of the complementary signal equally probable, the line spectrum of the output spectrum is eliminated. The nonlinear effects which introduce the spectral spreading or spectral regeneration is reduced remarkably.

  • In this paper, we introduced linear spatial time series (space-time autoregressive and moving average model) and nonlinear spatial time series (space-time bilinear model). Also we estimated the parameters by Kalman Filter method and made comparative studies of power of forecast in the final model. We proposed several weight matrices such as equal proportion allocation, reciprocal proportion between distances, and proportion of population sizes. For applications, we collected Mumps data at Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention from January 2001 until August 2008. We compared three approaches of weight matrices using the Mumps data. Finally, we also decided the most effective model based on sum of square forecast error.

  • In this paper, high efficient power amplifier with dual band has been realized. Dual band power amplifier have used modify stub matching for single FET, center frequency 2.14GHz and 5.2GHz respectively. The dual-band operation of the CRLH TL is achieved by the frequency offset and the nonlinear phase slope of the CRLH TL for the matching network of the power amplifier. Because the control of the all harmonic components is very difficult m dual-band, we have managed only the second- and third-harmonics to obtain the high efficiency with the CRLH TL in dual-band. Dual-band characteristics in the output has to balance. Two operating frequencies are chosen at 2.14 GHz and 5.2 GHz in this work. The measured results show that the output power of 28.56 dBm and 29 dBm was obtained at 2.14 GHz and 5.2 GHz, respectively. At this point, we have obtained the power-added efficiency (PAE) of 65.824 % and 69.86 % at two operation frequencies, respectively.

  • Post-tensioned (PT) steel moment resisting frames (MRFs) with semi-rigid connections (SRC) can be used to control the hysteretic energy demands and to reduce the maximum inter-story drift (${\gamma}$). In this study the seismic behavior of steel MRFs with PT connections is estimated by incremental nonlinear dynamic analysis in terms of dissipated hysteretic energy ($E_H$) demands. For this aim, five PT steel MRFs are subjected to 30 long duration earthquake ground motions recorded on soft soil sites. To assess the energy dissipated in the frames with PT connections, a new expression is proposed for the hysteretic behavior of semi-rigid connections validated by experimental tests. The performance was estimated not only for the global $E_H$ demands in the steel frames; but also for, the distribution and demands of hysteretic energy in beams, columns and connections considering several levels of deformation. The results show that $E_H$ varies with ${\gamma}$, and that most of $E_H$ is dissipated by the connections. It is observed in all the cases a log-normal distribution of $E_H$ through the building height. The largest demand of $E_H$ occurs between 0.25 and 0.5 of the height. Finally, an equation is proposed to calculate the distribution of $E_H$ in terms of the normalized height of the stories (h/H) and the inter-story drift.

  • To study the effectiveness of sliding isolation in a CRLSS (concrete rectangular liquid-storage structure) and develop a reasonable limiting-device method, dynamic responses of non-isolation, sliding isolation with spring limiting-devices and sliding isolation with steel bar limiting-devices are comparatively studied by shaking table test. The seismic response reduction advantage of sliding isolation for concrete liquid-storage structures is discussed, and the effect of the limiting-device type on system dynamic responses is analyzed. The results show that the dynamic responses of sliding isolation CRLSS with steel bar-limiting devices are significantly smaller than that of sliding isolation CRLSS with spring-limiting devices. The structure acceleration and liquid sloshing wave height are greatly influenced by spring-limiting devices. The acceleration of the structure in this case is close to or greater than that of a non-isolated structure. Liquid sloshing shows stronger nonlinear characteristics. On the other hand, sliding isolation with steel bar-limiting devices has a good control effect on the structural dynamic response and the liquid sloshing height simultaneously. Thus, a limiting device is an important factor affecting the seismic response reduction effect of sliding isolation. To take full advantage of sliding isolation in a concrete liquid-storage structure, a reasonable design of the limiting device is particularly important.

  • Currently, the majority of systems which are non-linear are in need of the correct system equations for controlling and monitoring. Therefore, the correct estimation of parameters is crucial. Generally, parameters are changed due to system deterioration or sudden environmental alterations. Given the limitations of system monitoring unstable controls can arise. In the following paper, the parameter estimation method is proposed using software filters to combat these system instabilities. For dynamic instances, a powerful particle filter is used to control the nonlinear and noisy environments in which they take place. Using a setup simulation comprised of a slider and pendulum, the state variable of noise is obtained. After collecting the data, the proposed algorithm is used to estimate both the state variable and its parameters. Finally, these results are checked with correct parameter estimations to evaluate and verify the algorithms performance.

  • Austenitic stainless steels(SUS 304, SUS 316), which are used for safety control valve of LNG carrier, are occasionally exposed in the cryogenic environment. In this regards, it is required to evaluate the mechanical characteristics under the low temperature environment. In this study, a series of uniaxial tensile test was carried out varying temperature for austenitic stainless steel. The phenomena of the strain-induced plasticity have been observed on the all temperature ranges. The critical value for threshold of 2nd hardening due to the phase transformation induced plasticity as well as the increase of hardening have been reported. The summarized experimental results would be used for the validation of numerical techniques applicable for the nonlinear hardening behavior of austenitic stainless steel under the cryogenic temperature environment.

  • ZnO varistors having a composition of 98.0 mol% ZnO 1.0 mol% $Bi_2O_3$ 0.5 mol% $MnO_2$ were prepared by the Pechini process and the sintering behavior and electrical characteristics were studied. ZnO varis-색 powder with $1.5\mu\textrm{m}$ mean diameter and narow particle size distribution was obtained using the Pechni pro-cess. Typical intermediate stage grain growth of liquid phase sintering was observed by sintering at $1100^{\circ}C$ At this temperature ZnO varistors having uniform grain size and Bi-rich liquid phase distributed uniformly along grain boundaries were prepared. The nonlinear coefficients of the ZnO varistors were in the range of 40-60 The breakdown voltages of the varistors were nearly inversely propeortional to the grain size which reflects that ZnO varistors prepared by the Pechini process have uniform distribution of Bi-rich liquid phase along grain boundaries It is believed that the microstructures of ZnO varistors can be controlled effectively by using the Pechini process which makes the control of the electrical properties of ZnO varistors possible.
