  • Linearization is one of the most successful approaches nonlinear system control. The objective of this paper is to survey the recent results in linearization theory. It is hoped to be useful in understanding various linearization problems and challenging unsolved problems.

  • The dynamic feedback is well-known to be much more powerful tool in control than the static one. This paper deals with the dynamic feedback linearization of the nonlinear systems which are not (static) feedback linearizable. The dynamic feedback linearization problem is however too difficult to solve at momemt. Thus we introduce a restricted class of the dynamic feedback (pure integrators followed by the static feedback) which is often used to study the problems using dynamic feedback and obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions of the linearization problem using this class of the dynamic feedback.

  • This paper presents a study on nonlinear time varying systems based on differential geometry. A brief introduction about controllability and involutivity will be presented. As an example, the exact feedback linearization and the approximate feedback linearization are used in order to show some application examples.

  • 본 논문은 이산 시간 비선형 시스템을 이산 시간 T-S 퍼지 모델에 의해 표현되는 새로운 궤환 선형화에 대해서 논한다. T-S fuzzy 모델의 국부적인 선형 모델들은 각각 가제어 표준형으로 변환되어지고, 그것들의 T-S 퍼지 결합은 궤환 선형화 가능한 T-S fuzzy 모델이 된다. 이 모델을 토대로 비선형 상태 궤환 선형 입력이 결정된다. 비선형 상태 변환은 가제어 표준형에 대한 선형 상태 변환으로부터 추론된다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 충분한 수학적 배경이 요구되는 고전적인 궤환 선형화 기법과 비교하여 수학적으로 보다 직관적이고 이해하기 쉽다. 본 논문의 궤환 선형화 조건은 고전적인 궤환 선형화와 비교하여 더 완화되었다. 이것은 고전적인 선형화방식 보다 더 큰 범주의 비선형 시스템이 선형화가 가능해진다는 것을 의미 한다.

  • This paper studies on the feedback linearization of the looper system for hot strip mills, where the looper system plays an important role in regulating the strip tension. Firstly, nonlinear dynamic equations of the looper system are simply introduced. Secondly, using the static feedback linearization algorithm, a linear model of the looper system is obtained, of which usefulness is validated from comparison between the linear model and the nonlinear model, and design of LQI(Linear Ouadratic Integral optimal control) and ILQ (Inverse Linear Quadratic optimal control) looper control systems.   • This paper proposes a feedback linearization control scheme of AC/DC PWM converters with LCL input filters using no damping resisters. Feedback linearization techniques use a transformation from nonlinear system models into equivalent linear models in a simpler form. The feedback linearization scheme in this work has cascade structures unlike usual feedback linearization, therefore it has an advantage that it is possible to limit the capacitor current to a certain level. The performance of the proposed controller is validated with simulation and experimental results.

  • Advanced Vehicle Control Systems(AVCS) is one of the key elements in Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS). This paper considers the problem of longitudinal control in vehicle platoon on a straight lane of a highway. In a very simplified situation, longitudinal vehicle dynamics contains many nonlinear elements. The nonlinear characteristics are mainly composed of an engine, a torque converter, and a drag force. In this paper, sliding control, one of nonlinear control methods, is applied to longitudinal automated vehicle control for platooning. Output feedback linearization is also simulated for comparison with the sliding control. Simulations for comparative study for the adopted controllers such as sliding control and output feedback linearization are peformed under the same conditions. This Paper aims at clarifying the characteristics of sliding control and output feedback linearization.

  • The implementation of Nonlinear Feedback Linearization control for Electro-Magnetic Suspension system is presented. The controller using TMS320C31 DSP chip was proposed and the experiments were performed Control law for EMS system using feedback linearization is derived and implemented in the DSP. Some tests were constructed far experimental comparison between feedback linearization and classical state feedback The experimental results demonstrate that the feedback linearization controller shows bettor performance than that of the classical state feedback controller and it is robust with respect to disturbance and parameter variation, though some steady-state errors appear.

  • In this paper, a feedback linearization control is proposed to regulate the output voltages of a three-phase four-wire inverter under the unbalanced and nonlinear load conditions. First, the nonlinear model of system including the output LC filters is derived in the d-q-0 synchronous reference frame. Then, the system is linearized by the multi-input multi-output feedback linearization. The tracking controllers for d-q-0-components of three-phase line-to-neutral load voltages are designed by linear control theory. The experimental results have shown that the proposed control method gives the good performance in response to the load conditions.

  • This paper combines the constrained model predictive control with the feedback linearization to solve a nonlinear system control problem with input constraints. The combined approach consists of two steps: Firstly, the nonlinear model is linearized by the feedback linearization. Secondly, based on the linearized model, the constrained model predictive controller is designed taking input constraints into consideration. The proposed controller is applied to two link robot system, and tracking performances of the controller are investigated via some simulations, where the comparisons are done for the cases of unconstrained, constrained input in feedback linearization.
