  • This paper presents a design method for multiple-output combinational digital logic systems using time domain based on multiplexing(TDBM) and common multi-terminal extension decision diagrams(CMTEDD). The CMIEDDs represents extension valued multiple-output functions, while TDBM systems transmit several signals on a single lines. The proposed method can reduce the 1)hardware, 2)logic levels and 3)pins. In the logic system design, we use two types of decision diagrams(DDs), that is the common binary decision diagrams(CBDDs) and CMTEDDs. Also, we propose an algorithms to derive common multiple-terminal binary decision diagrams(CMTBDD) from CBDDs, and CMTEDDs from CMTBDDs. The CMTEDDs over CBDDs is more compactness in terms of number of non-terminal nodes, where the nodes for output selection variables are not included in the non-terminal nodes. In the logic design, each non-terminal nodes of an CBDDs and an CMTEDDs is realized by a multiplexer(MUX). In addition, we compare the proposed TDBM realization with the conventional one.

  • The problem of Euclidean minimum spanning tree (EMST) is to connect given nodes in a plane with minimum cost. There are many algorithms for the polynomial time problem as EMST. However, for numerous nodes, the algorithms consume an enormous amount of time to find an optimal solution. In this paper, an approximation scheme using a polynomial time approximation scheme (PTAS) algorithm with dividing and parallel processing for the problem is suggested. This scheme enables to construct a large, approximate EMST within a short duration. Although initially devised for the non-polynomial problem, we employ naive PTAS to construct a vast EMST with dynamic programming. In an experiment, the approximate EMST constructed by the proposed scheme with 15,000 input terminal nodes and 16 partition cells shows 89% and 99% saving in execution time for the serial processing and parallel processing methods, respectively. Therefore, our scheme can be applied to obtain an approximate EMST quickly for numerous input terminal nodes.

  • Software reconfigurable radio will give future users a number of benefits like global roaming, multi mode, multi band, and multi standard. It will also offer complete programmability and reconfigurability to both multi mode and multi functional communication terminal and network nodes. This configuration will be implemented by application of different combination of radio configurable software. In this paper, It proposes the algorithm needed for reconfiguration with basic explanation of the software download. A description of an implementation such reconfiguration processes as partial download and full download and critical and non-critical download installation using the registration table in included.

  • In this paper, we present an approach to transmit data from the source to the destination through a minimal path (least-cost path) in a computer network of n nodes. The motivation behind our approach is to address the problem of finding a minimal path between the source and destination. From the work we have studied, we found that a Steiner tree with bounded Steiner vertices offers a good solution. A novel algorithm to construct a Steiner tree with vertices and bounded Steiner vertices is proposed in this paper. The algorithm finds a path from each source to each destination at a minimum cost and minimum number of Steiner vertices. We propose both the sequential and parallel versions. We also conducted a comparative study of sequential and parallel versions based on time complexity, which proved that parallel implementation is more efficient than sequential.

  • This study proposes a bottom-up and inductive manual mapping methodology for integrating two heterogenous fine-grained ontologies which were built by a top-down and deductive methodology, namely the Sejong semantic classes (SJSC) and the upper nodes in KorLexNoun 1.5 (KLN), for HLP applications. It also discusses various problematics in the mapping processes of two language resources caused by their heterogeneity and proposes the solutions. The mapping methodology of heterogeneous fine-grained ontologies uses terminal nodes of SJSC and Least Upper Bounds (LUB) of KLN as basic mapping units. Mapping procedures are as follows: first, the mapping candidate groups are decided by the lexfollocorrelation between the synsets of KLN and the noun senses of Sejong Noun Dfotionaeci(SJND) which are classified according to SJSC. Secondly, the meanings of the candidate groups are precisely disambiguated by linguistic information provided by the two ontologies, i.e. the hierarchicllostructures, the definitions, and the exae les. Thirdly, the level of LUB is determined by applying the appropriate predicates and definitions of SJSC to the upper-lower and sister nodes of the candidate LUB. Fourthly, the mapping possibility ic inthe terminal node of SJSC is judged by che aring hierarchicllorelations of the two ontologies. Finally, the ituorrect synsets of KLN and terminologiollocandidate groups are excluded in the mapping. This study positively uses various language information described in each ontology for establishing the mapping criteria, and it is indeed the advantage of the fine-grained manual mapping. The result using the proposed methodology shows that 6,487 LUBs are mapped with 474 terminal and non-terminal nodes of SJSC, excluding the multiple mapped nodes, and that 88,255 nodes of KLN are mapped including all lower-level nodes of the mapped LUBs. The total mapping coverage is 97.91% of KLN synsets. This result can be applied in many elaborate syntactic and semantic analyses for Korean language processing.

  • By introducing additional nodes called Steiner points, the problem of Steiner Minimum Tree whose length can be shorter than Minimum Spanning Tree and which connects all input terminal nodes belongs to Non-Polynomial Complete domain. Though diverse heuristic methods can be applied to the problem, most of them may meet serious pains in computing and waiting for a solution of the problem with numerous input nodes. For numerous input nodes, an efficient PTAS approximation method producing candidate unit steiner trees with portals in most bottom layer, merging them hierarchically to construct their parent steiner trees in upper layer and building swiftly final approximation Steiner tree in most top layer is suggested in this paper. The experiment with 16,000 input nodes and designed 16 unit areas in most bottom layer shows 85.4% execution time improvement in serial processing and 98.9% in parallel processing comparing with pure Steiner heuristic method, though 0.24% overhead of tree length. Therefore, the suggested PTAS Steiner tree method can have a wide range applications to build a large scale approximation Steiner tree quickly.
