생체 관절에서 압착막 윤활의 구체적 가능성 (Some Evidence of Squeeze Film Lubrication in Biological Joints)

  • A solution scheme for the squeeze film problem using the Newton-Raphson method with a tangential matrix is presented. The integration of elasticity equation is done with the aid of isoparametric elements and the film thickness under a sinusoidal load is obtained. A new squeeze-suction phenomenon which shoㅁvs the possibility oi maintaining fluid film under cyclic positive load conditions is observed for small load and Period and large compliance parameter cases. Thia could be an interesting result in applications like the viscous hydroplaning and the biological joints.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear structural damage identification algorithm is derived by taking into account the structurally damped spectral element model thinking over a real situation. The structural damage identification analyses are conducted by using the Newton-Raphson method. It is found that, in general Structural Damage Identification by using the Structurally Damped Spectral Element Model provides the same exact damage identification results when compared with the results obtained by the structurally undamped spectral model.

  • This paper presents the hardware design of a 32bit floating point based processor. The processor can perform nonlinear functions such as sinusoidal functions, exponential functions, and other nonlinear functions. Using the Taylor series and the Newton - Raphson method, nonlinear functions are approximated. The processor is actually embedded on an FPGA chip and tested. The numerical accuracy of the functions is compared with those computed by the MATLAB.

Nonlinear static analysis of functionally graded porous beams under thermal effect

  • This paper deals with the nonlinear static deflections of functionally graded (FG) porous under thermal effect. Material properties vary in both position-dependent and temperature-dependent. The considered nonlinear problem is solved by using Total Lagrangian finite element method within two-dimensional (2-D) continuum model in the Newton-Raphson iteration method. In numerical examples, the effects of material distribution, porosity parameters, temperature rising on the nonlinear large deflections of FG beams are presented and discussed with porosity effects. Also, the effects of the different porosity models on the FG beams are investigated in temperature rising.

  • In this paper, the circuit analysis during the retrace period of E.H.T. generator is performed by means of the simplified equivalent circuit. The E.H.T. voltage and the beam current are computed by using Newton-Raphson method and the computed results are compared with those of experiment.

  • This paper proposes a method for producing smooth and positive estimates of the intensity function of an inhomogeneous Poisson process based on the shrinkage of wavelet coefficients of the observed counts. The information projection is used in conjunction with the level-dependent thresholds to yield smooth and positive estimates. This work is motivated by and demonstrated within the context of a problem involving gamma-ray burst data in astronomy. Simulation results are also presented in order to show the performance of the information projection estimators.

  • A numerical analysis for the gas lubricated flexure-pivot tilting pad journal bearing has been accomplished. The film pressure are obtained by Newton-Raphson method and the dynamic coefficients are evaluated by the pad assembly method. The effects of the pivot position of the pad on the static and dynamic characteristics are presented for three pads journal bearing with LBP. The optimum pivot positions for the static performance is different from that of the dynamic performance.

  • 로울러 베어링의 로울러는 길이방향으로 적당하게 Profiling하여 양단부에서 발생하는 응력집중을 줄이고 있다. 로울러와 레이스간의 접촉을 단순한 탄성접촉문제로 해석하는 경우에는 유막의 개념이 없어서 로울러와 레이스 사이의 압력분포와 유막형상을 정확하게 나타내기가 어려우므로 탄성변형과 압력에 따른 윤활유의 점도 변화를 고려한 탄성유체윤활(EHL)해석이 필요하다. 대부분의 해석은 무한장 로울러로 취급하는 것이 보통이며 실제의 로울러에 해당하는 유한한 길이의 선접촉 EHL 해석은 Mostofi & Gohar 및 Kuroda & Arai의 해석 정도이나 각각은 수렴하중이 작거나 로울러의 길이가 아주 짧은 경우에 해당한다. 본 연구에서는 FDM과 Newton-Raphson method를 이용하여 길이가 유한한 실제 크기의 Profiled 로울러에 대한 EHL상태에서의 압력분포와 유막형상을 보다 하중이 온 경우에 대해서 구하고자 한다.

  • The aim of this paper is to construct a new method for finding the zeros of the sum of two maximally monotone mappings in Hilbert spaces. We will define a simple function such that its set of zeros coincide with that of the sum of two maximal monotone operators. Moreover, we will use the Newton-Raphson algorithm to get an approximate zero. In addition, some illustrative examples are given at the end of this paper.
