The modern digital logic technology does not yet satisfy the speed requirements of real-time DSP circuits due to synchronized operation of multiplication and accumulation. This operation degrades DSP performance. Therefore, the double-base number system (DBNS) has emerged in DSP system as an alternative methodology because of fast multiplication and hardware simplicity. In this paper, authors propose a novel multiplication architecture. One operand is an output of a flash analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in DBNS format, while the other operand is a coefficient in the IEEE standard floating-point number format. The DBNS digital output from ADC is produced through a new double base number encoder (DBNE). The multiplied output is in the format of the IEEE standard floating-point number (FPNS). The proposed circuits process multiplication and conversion together. Compared to a typical multiplier that uses the FPNS, the proposed multiplier also consumes 45% less gates, and 44% faster than the FPNS multiplier on Spartan-3 FPGA board. The design is verified with FIR filter applications.

Recently, as Rapid Prototyping is attracting people's attention, many peoples are actively participating in the research on STL format. The STL files are transformed to be input for RP after modeling in CAD system. When the shape, however, needs to be changed or edited, it is impossible without the original data. So, if the original data is lost, new modeling is required. Therefore, this study suggests a way to edit the shape in STL format and to make the Boolean operation possible between the original and edited shapes. In addition, the reliability was confirmed after going over the errors of the edited data.

Mobile network infrastructure is being completed with the development of hardware and software for mobile devices. Network in mobile devices has evolved for telematics that is expanded much more than its existing concept. Telematics is compound word that is formed from the words "telecommunication" and "informatics". It means that telematics performs control and monitoring service with using mobile device resources. These services provide their services for users' requests through wired or wireless network from mobile devices and server that offers contents and network service collects management information of mobile devices. Map service is one of the preferred services for many telematics users. However, mobile map service has a limit between traffic and information sharing. Therefore it is very important to supply their information for both service provider and terminal user. In this paper, we design a new interactive sketch map using routes and information on the space to be applied effectively, and provide an extended document format that is defined to an extensible and dynamic clustering scheme to have portability map service for mobile device.

This paper presents about the activities of speech database standardization in ETRI. Recently, with the support of government, ETRI and SiTEC have been gathering the large speech corpus for the domestic speech related companies. First, due to the lack of sharing the knowledge of speech database specification, the distributed speech database has a different format. Hence it seems to be needed to have the same format as soon as possible. ETRI and SiTEC are trying to find the better representation format of speech database. Second, we introduce a new description method of the annotation information of speech database. As one of the structured description method, XML based description will be applied to represent the metadata of the speech database. It will be continuously revised through the speech technology standard forum during this year.

The purpose of this study was to search for new food labeling system that would support effective consumer decision-making, by examining consumer behavior of food labels and its' related factors. The survey was conducted on 410 housewives under 60-year-old who live in Seoul or Metropolitan area, using questionnaires and the illustrated material of labels. Respondents generally considered food labels very important as devices. Among 12 items of label which are required to disclose, they evaluated circulation period, and nutritional information. Among 12 items of label, housewives read manufacture date, circulation period, and price more often than business admission number and self standard number. The respondents preferred the format of marking both manufacture date and expiration date on the same side, the format of printing both price and weight on the same side of package, the diagramatic type, and the format represented by ration graph per daily value.

This paper describes a study on developing an insert and detect system of digital watermark to the MPEG-2 coder and decoder. Digital watermark inserting system substitutes a coefficient among the DCT coefficients for new one. This replacement performs in MPEG-2 PS format. Watermark detecting system analyzes the input data stream of MPEG-2 and detect the probability of occurrence of a specific code or watermarking code. Our inserting system had very high invisibility and the PSNR of the results was 130 dB around. And our detection rate of watermark was over 99% in digital format and over 85% in analog captured format according to the quality of contents.

This paper is about KTV special documentary "Baekdu to Halla, It's Peace Now" which looks back on the journey of President Moon Jae-in to the 3rd inter-Korean summit following former Presidents Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun, following the 2018 inter-Korean summit held under the slogan of 'Peace and a New Future'. The documentary was produced in the form of a road documentary that looked back at the meaningful results of the summit meeting with the MC through related places and various people, narrated by singer Kang San-Ae. Based on this case, the difference between the development of road documentaries and general informational documentaries about the existing production process is identified, and the differences between the production format, production characteristics, and development method of road documentaries are described. I would like to present an example of how it can be desirable to set the format of the road documentary according to the production environment of broadcasting companies and planning factors.

The need for overall assessment of economic effectiveness of library culture program has been suggested, as its importance continues to grow. Our study proposed a new assessment method by applying DM format and IBM format to contingent valuation method that has been used for analyzing the economic value of culture program. This study also illustrates the process through case analysis so that the public library can apply this model. It is meaningful that the study provides basic framework to evaluate the fair value of the public library by minimizing the bias that the contingent valuation method has.

MS Office suit software is the most widely used electronic documents by a large number of users in the world, which has absolute predominance in office software market. MS Office 2007-2013 documents, which use new office open extensible markup language (OOXML) format, could be illegally used as cover mediums to transmit secret information by offenders, because they do not easily arouse others suspicion. This paper proposes nine forensic methods and an integrated forensic tool for OOXML format documents on the basis of researching the potential information hiding methods. The proposed forensic methods and tool cover three categories; document structure, document content, and document format. The aim is to prevent covert communication and provide security detection technology for electronic documents downloaded by users. The proposed methods can prevent the damage of secret information embedded by offenders. Extensive experiments based on real data set demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

One of the major characteristics of C language is that it allows us to use pointer type variables to access any area of virtual address space. So, we can read/write/execute from/to virtual memory area not controlled delicately by operating system. We can access such memory area by using format string and it can be a vulnerability of C language from the point of secure programming. In this paper, we analyze in detail the process of security attack based on format string and then exploit a new virus style attack which is stepwise and durable with some actual scenarios to warn the severity of it, and grope for some preliminary responding actions.
