  • This paper deals with a predator-prey model with Holling type III response function and cross-diffusion subject to the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. We first give a priori estimates (positive upper and lower bounds) of positive steady states. Then the non-existence and existence results of non-constant positive steady states are given as the cross-diffusion coefficient is varied, which means that stationary patterns arise from cross-diffusion.

  • For a norm 1 function ${\sigma}$ in the Fourier-Stieltjes algebra of a locally compact group we define the space of ${\sigma}$-harmonic operators in the non-commutative $L^p$-space associated to the group von Neumann algebra of G. We will investigate some properties of the space and will obtain a precise description of it.

  • A proposed test statistic is obtained by multiplying constant weights by the Neumann smooth type statistic discussed by Eubank and Hart(1993) in order to observe the effect of weight. It has very good results of power studies. Another advantage of this test is that it simultaneously provides an important diagnostic tools that can be used in many cases to determine how the model should be adjusted.

  • Using Green's theorem, elliptic boundary value problems can be converted to boundary integral equations. A numerical methods for boundary integral equations are boundary elementary method(BEM). BEM has advantages over finite element method(FEM) whenever the fundamental solutions are known. Helmholtz type equations arise naturally in many physical applications. In a boundary integral formulation for the exterior Neumann there occurs a hypersingular operator which exhibits a strong singularity like $\frac{1}{|x-y|^3}$ and hence is not an integrable function. In this paper we are going to remove this hypersingularity by reducing the regularity of test functions.

  • This paper devotes to the study of a diffusive model for unstirred membrane reactors with maintenance energy subject to a homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. It shows that the unique constant steady state is globally asymptotically stable when it exists. This result further implies the non-existence of the non-uniform steady state solution.

  • We establish a new strategy to study the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the Cauchy and Jensen equations in non-Archimedean normed spaces. We will also show that under some restrictions, every function which satisfies certain inequalities can be approximated by an additive mapping in non-Archimedean normed spaces. Some applications of our results will be exhibited. In particular, we will see that some results about stability and additive mappings in real normed spaces are not valid in non-Archimedean normed spaces.

  • In this note, we consider a curved tube with varying cross-section formed by rotating open bounded Euclidean domains with respect to a reference curve, and successfully give a lower bound to the threshold of the Laplacian on the tube, subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions on the surface and Neumann conditions at the ends of the tube. This generalizes the corresponding result in [1].

  • With the aid of finite element method, this paper deals with the problem of structural response variability of transmission tower subjected to the spatial variability of material properties, Young's modulus herein. The spatial variability of material property are modeled as two-dimensional stochastic field which has an isotropic auto-correlation function. Response variability has been computed based on two numerical techniques, such as the Neumann expansion method in conjunction with the Monte Carlo simulation method. The results by these numerical methods are compared with those by the deterministic approach.

  • In this paper, we prove that a function satisfying the following inequality $${\parallel}f(x)+2f(y)+2f(z){\parallel}{\leq}{\parallel}2f(\frac{x}{2}+y+z){\parallel}+{\epsilon}({\parallel}x{\parallel}^r{\cdot}{\parallel}y{\parallel}^r{\cdot}{\parallel}z{\parallel}^r)$$ for all x, y, z ${\in}$ X and for $\epsilon{\geq}0$, is Cauchy additive. Moreover, we will investigate for the stability in Banach spaces.
