  • The aim of the present study was to develop model for detonation cell sizes prediction based on a deep artificial neural network of hydrogen, methane and propane mixtures with air and oxygen. The discussion about the currently available algorithms compared existing solutions and resulted in a conclusion that there is a need for a new model, free from uncertainty of the effective activation energy and the reaction length definitions. The model offers a better and more feasible alternative to the existing ones. Resulting predictions were validated against experimental data obtained during the investigation of detonation parameters, as well as with data collected from the literature. Additionally, separate models for individual mixtures were created and compared with the main model. The comparison showed no drawbacks caused by fitting one model to many mixtures. Moreover, it was demonstrated that the model may be easily extended by including more independent variables. As an example, dependency on pressure was examined. The preparation of experimental data for deep neural network training was described in detail to allow reproducing the results obtained and extending the model to different mixtures and initial conditions. The source code of ready to use models is also provided.

  • Routing in ATM network is set up by combination of both virtual path routing and virtual channel routing. While virtual channel is similar concept to virtual circuit of data networks, virtual path is a special concept which is not used in traditional data networks. Virtual path can rearrange in structure and size by simply changing virtual path routing tables and giving the network the capability to eash allocate network resources according to the demand needs. This paper provides reconfiguration models of virtual path network which give the bandwidth of link and the routing path for each traffic class. The reconfiguration models are network optimization problems of multicommodity network flow type. The numerical examples are also included.

  • This study proposes a neural network for solving optimization problems such as the TSP (Travelling Salesman Problem), scheduling, and line balancing. The Hopfield network has been used for solving such problems, but it frequently gives abnormal solutions or non-optimal ones. Moreover, the Hopfield network takes much time especially in solving large size problems. To overcome such disadvantages, this study adopts nodes whose outputs changes with a fixed value at every evolution. The proposed network is applied to solving a TSP, finding the shortest path for visiting all the cities, each of which is visted only once. Here, the travelling path is reflected to the energy function of the network. The proposed network evolves to globally minimize the energy function, and a ...

  • In industry areas, a lot of factories and process plants need network for processing data acquired from field and for communicating between sensors or actuators or field controllers. Most of the industry networks are based on wired solutions. But, recently, a lot of factories and process plants are moving into wireless solutions since they have some advantages compared with wired one. In this paper we first review the characteristics of wired and wireless network technologies and introduce the new technique called wireless sensor network (WSN). And then we describe the wireless sensor node system designed by us for WSN which has the ability of small size, flexibility and low-power consumption and embedded into the Bar-code scanner to communicate each other. Finally, we conclude this paper by showing that wireless industry network can be constructed with wireless sensor network without large change of traditional wired topologies through experiment using wireless sensor nodes.

  • The digital network system is one of the most important features in the resent hospital buildings. This study is to lay out a guideline of architectural planning according to the hospitals with digital network system. First, this study develops the concept of hospital building digital network system and reports the survey results of domestic general hospitals for this matter. Required spaces by digital network system in general hospital are classified into two categories. One is equipment room, main equipment room and a telecommunication closet, to accommodate network facilities. The other is the spaces related with medical information, medical archives and the department of radiology, because digital network system makes a change the form and use of information. In result, this study proposes models for each equipment room and raises the possibility of size change of information-spaces.

  • We consider a human contact social network that has connections through cellphone addresses. To construct such a social network, we use real call records provided by a large carrier, and connect to each other if there exists a call record between any two cellphone users. Due to its huge amount of data, we down-sample it in a way that the smallest-degree nodes are removed, in turn, from the network. For a moderate size of the networks we show that the degree distribution of the network follows a power-law distribution via linear regression analysis, implying the so-called scale-free property. We finally suggest some alternative measures to analyze a social network.

  • A motion controller has been used variously in industry such as semiconductor manufacture equipment, industrial robot, assembly/conveyor line applications and CNC equipment. There are several types of controller in motion control. One of these is a PC-based motion controller such as PCI or ISA, and another is stand-alone motion controller. The PC bus-based motion controller is popular because of improving bus architectures and GUI (Graphic User Interface) that offer convenience of use to user. There are some problems in this. The PC bus-based solution allows for only one of the form factors, so it has a poor flexibility. The overall system package size is bigger than other motion control system. And also, additional axes of control require additional slot, however the number of slots is limited. Furthermore, unwieldy and many wirings come to connect plants or I/O. The stand-alone motion controller has also this limit of axes of control and wiring problems. To resolve these problems, controller must have capability of operating as stand-alone devices that resides outside the computer and it needs network capability to communicate to each motion device. In this paper, a network-based stand-alone motion system is proposed. This system integrates PC and motion controller into one stand-alone motion system, and uses CAN (Controller Area Network) as network protocol. Single board computer that is type of 3.5" FDD form factor is used to reduce the system size and cost. It works with Windows XP Embedded as operating system. This motion system operates by itself or serves as master motion controller that communicates to slave motion controller. The Slave motion controllers can easily connect to master motion system through CAN-network.

  • The existing block encryption algorithms have been designed for the encryption key value to be unchanged and applied to the round functions of each block. and enciphered. Therefore, it has such a weak point that the plaintext or encryption key could be easily exposed by differential cryptanalysis or linear cryptanalysis, both are the most powerful methods for decoding block encryption of a round repeating structure. Dynamic cipher has the property that the key-size, the number of round, and the plaintext-size are scalable simultaneously. Dynamic network is the unique network satisfying these characteristics among the networks for symmetric block ciphers. We analyze the strength of Dynamic network for meet-in-the-middle attack, linear cryptanalysis, and differential cryptanalysis. Also, In this paper we propose a new network called Dynamic network for symmetric block ciphers.

  • The input buffer in Network on Chip (NoC) router plays a key role in on-chip-network performance, which is utilized in flow control and virtual channel. However, increase in area and power due to input buffers as the network size gets larger is becoming severe. To solve this problem, a bufferless deflection routing without input buffer was suggested. Since the bufferless deflection routing shows poor performance at high network load, other approaches which combine the deflection routing with small size side buffers were also proposed. Nonetheless these new methods still show deficiencies caused by frequent path collisions. In this paper, we propose a modified deflection routing technique using a location based priority. In comparison with existing deflection routers, experimental results show improvement by 12% in throughput with only 3% increase in area.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the current urban forest network and future plan of forest framework using nearest features program where stepping stones within 5km from the core forest were selected in the program. We found several conclusions as follows: First, we found that cities in inland area including Daegu, Dajeon and Gwangju have quite different types of forest network with comparing to the cities nearby coastline including Busan, Incheon and Ulsan. The cities in inland area have large mountain patch around each city. However they have small and lower number of island forests within their urban area. Otherwise, cities nearby coastline have more forest patches than in the cities in inland area, and Busan and Incheon especially have strong forest network using various size of forest patches. Second, Daegu and Daejeon have much smaller forest patches distributed in each urban area. So additional forest patches should be added to have highly strong forest network within urban area. Third, Ulsan and Gwangju have most stepping-stone forests close to the large mountain patches in suburban area, which are not able to connect to the forest patches in the central area of each city So additional forest patches are needed to be added in the central area of each city for reinforcing the effect of stepping stone in the central area. Though there should be an addition approach except for forest size and its isolation to construct the ecological network in an urban area, this indices can be a good method to check an environmental and ecological status in an urban area.
