A feedback control implementation for a high speed train pressurization system is proposed based on CAN (Controller Area Network). Firstly, system model including network latencies by CAN arbitration mechanisms is proposed, and an analytical compensation method of control parameters based on the system model is proposed for the network latencies. For the practical implementation of the control, global synchronization is adopted for controller to measure network latencies and to utilize them for the compensation of the control parameters. Simulation results are shown with practical tunnel data response. The proposed method is evaluated to be the most effective for the system through the control performances comparing among a controller not considering network latencies, other two off-line compensation methods, and the proposed method.
The automotive industry tries to provide infotainment systems to emerging automobiles. Since the infotainment systems require various peripheral devices and network connectivity, legacy operating systems such as Linux and Windows can be much preferred due to its plentiful device drivers and multimedia applications while the operating systems following OSEK standard are used for automotive electronic control units. Thus it is highly desired that the system software supporting infotainment applications can be portable over different legacy operating systems providing unified programming interfaces. The majority of legacy operating systems support POSIX interfaces for application development. MOST is an automotive network standard for infotainment systems. Network Service defines the protocol stacks for MOST control data, which is essential to implement infotainment applications over MOST. In this paper, we suggest a POSIX-based Network Service so that we can utilize legacy device drivers and applications for automotive infotainment systems. We measure the performance of the POSIX-based Network Service and show that its overhead is not significant.

To improve control performance of a non-linear system, many other reserches have used the sliding model control algorithm. The sliding mode controller is known to be robust against nonlinear and unmodeled dynamic terms. However, this algorithm raises the inherent chattering caused by excessive switching inputs around the sliding surface. Therefore, in order to solve the chattering problem and improve control performance, this study has developed the sliding mode controller with a perturbation estimator using the observer-based fuzzy adaptive network. The perturbation estimator based on the fuzzy adaptive network generates the control input of compensating unmodeled dynamics terms and disturbance. And the weighting parameters of the fuzzy adaptive network are updated on-line by adaptive law in order to force the estimation errors converge to zero. Therefore, the combination of sliding mode control and fuzzy adaptive network gives rise to the robust and intelligent routine. For evaluation control performance of the proposed approach, tracking control simulation is carried is carried out for the hydraulic motion simulator which is a 6-degree of freedom parallel manipulator.
This paper presents a design method of the wavelet neural network based controller using direct adaptive control method to deal with a stable intelligent control of chaotic systems. The various uncertainties, such as mechanical parametric variation, external disturbance, and unstructured uncertainty influence the control performance. However, the conventional control methods such as optimal control, adaptive control and robust control may not be feasible when an explicit, faithful mathematical model cannot be constructed. Therefore, an intelligent control system that is an on-line trained WNN controller based on direct adaptive control method with adaptive learning rates is proposed to control chaotic nonlinear systems whose mathematical models are not available. The adaptive learning rates are derived in the sense of discrete-type Lyapunov stability theorem, so that the convergence of the tracking error can be guaranteed in the closed-loop system. In the whole design process, the strict constrained conditions and prior knowledge of the controlled plant are not necessary due to the powerful learning ability of the proposed intelligent control system. The gradient-descent method is used for training a wavelet neural network controller of chaotic systems. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed control method is demonstrated with application to the chaotic systems.

Access control systems are used to control the access of people to assets. In practice, assets are either tangible (e.g. goods, cash, etc.) or data. In order to handle tangible assets, a person must physically access the space in which the assets are located (e.g. a room or a building). Access control systems for this case have been known since antiquity and are based either on mechanical locks or on certificates. In the middle of the 20th century, systems based on electromagnetic phenomena appeared. In the second half of the same century, the need to control access to data also arose. And since data can also be accessed via a computer network, it was necessary to control not only the access of persons to areas with data storage, but also to control the electronic communication of persons with these storage facilities. The different types of the above systems have developed separately and more or less independently. This paper provides an overview of the current status of different types of systems, showing that these systems are converging technologically based on the use of electronics, computing and computer communication. Furthermore, the terminology and architecture of these systems is expanded in the article to allow a unified description of these systems. The article also describes the most common types of access control system configurations.
In this paper, we presented a predictive control technique, which is based on wavelet neural network (WNN), for the control of chaotic systems whose precise mathematical models are not available. The WNN is motivated by both the multilayer feedforward neural network definition and wavelet decomposition. The wavelet theory improves the convergence of neural network. In order to design predictive controller effectively, the WNN is used as the predictor whose parameters are tuned by error between the output of actual plant and the output of WNN. Also the training method for the finding a good WNN model is the Extended Kalman algorithm which updates network parameters to converge to the reference signal during a few iterations. The benefit of EKF training method is that the WNN model can have better accuracy for the unknown plant. Finally, through computer simulations, we confirmed the performance of the proposed control method.
This paper presents a novel control methodology for communication network based nonlinear systems with time delay nature. We construct a nominal nonlinear control law for representing a linear model and a reset control system which is aimed for corrective control strategy to compensate system error due to uncertain time delay through wireless communication network. Next, online neural control approach is proposed for overcoming nonstationary statistical nature in the network topology. Additionally, DBN (Dynamic Bayesian Network) technique is accomplished for modeling of its dynamics in terms of casuality, which is then utilized for estimating prediction of system output. We evaluate superiority and reliability of the proposed control approach through numerical simulation example in which a nonlinear inverted pendulum model is employed as a networked control system.
The neural network approach has been shown to be a general scheme for nonlinear dynamical system identification. Unfortunately the error surface of a Multilayer Neural Network(MNN) that widely used is often highly complex. This is a disadvantage and potential traps may exist in the identification procedure. The objective of this paper is to identify a nonlinear dynamical systems based on Radial Basis Function Networks(RBFN). The learning with RBFN is fast and precise. This paper discusses RBFN as identification procedure is based on a nonlinear dynamical systems. and A design method of model follow control system based on RBFN controller is developed. As a result of applying this method to inverted pendulum, the simulation has shown that RBFN can be used as identification and control of nonlinear dynamical systems effectively.
Recent increase in accessibility to the internet makes it easy to use the internet-connected devices. The internet could allow any user can reach and command any device that is connected to the network. But these teleoperation systems using the internet connected device have several problems such as the network time delay, data loss and development cost of an application for the communication with each other. One feasible solution is to use local and external network line for the network time delay, transmission control protocol for data loss and Java language to reduce the development period and cost. In this study, web-based remote control system using Java language is newly proposed and implemented to a pneumatic servo control system to solve the time delay, data loss and development cost. We have conducted several experiments using pneumatic rodless cylinder through the internet and verified that the proposed remote control system was very effective.
This paper presents a network-based traction control system(TCS), where several electric control units(ECUs) are connected by a controller area network(CAN) communication system. The control system consists of four ECUs: the electric throttle controller, the transmission controller, the engine controller and the traction controller. In order to validate the traction control algorithm of the network-based TCS and evaluate its performance, a Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS) environment was developed. Herein we propose a new concept of the HILS environment called the network-based HILS(Net-HILS) for the development and validation of network-based control systems which include smart sensors or actuators. In this study, we report that we have designed a network-based TCS, validated its algorithm and evaluated its performance using Net-HILS.
