  • This paper proposed a platform which includes both Network processor and DSP for flexible IED. The Network processor is one of the Intel's IXP4XX Product Line family and the DSP is one of the TI's C6000 family. An embedded Linux is ported in Network processor so that a DSP program can be downloaded to Network processor through ethernet and then downloaded to DSP. Using this method, various algorithms according to IED can be applied to the Network processor board. Maximum ten ADCs can be connected because there is a CPLD between DSP and ADC. That is, the network processor board which can measure maximum 40 channels is implemented. In DSP program, thread and double buffering methods are used not to miss voltage samples. The Network processor board is verified using a method that eight channel voltage signals converted to digital are transmitted to server through both DSP and IXP425.

  • Middleware offers function that user application program can transmit data independently of network device. Connection management about network connection of module is important for normal service of module base personal robot. Unpredictable network disconnection is influenced to whole robot performance in module base personal robot. For this, Middleware must be offer two important function. The first is function of error detection and reporting about abnormal network disconnection. Therefore, middleware need method for network error detection and module management to consider special quality that each network device has. The second is the function recovering that makes the regular service possible. When the module closed from connection reconnects, as this service reports connection state of the corresponding module, the personal robot resumes the existing service. In this paper proposed method of network connection management for to support fault tolerant about network error of network module based personal robot.

  • International Roaming is a kind of telecommunication service that enables subscribers use the same mobile number when they go abroad and access other service provider's network. International roaming call is made through three network parts-home (original service provider) network, intermediate network, and local (overseas service provider) network. It is not possible to monitor every section of whole roaming service network because service providers do not provide their network management information to other service providers. The limitation causes harsh problem when a service anomaly arises and operators have to confirm the reason of failure. To solve this problem, we propose a scheme that deduces roaming service status of each overseas service provider using internal network management information. SK telecom implemented a international roaming service management system based on the scheme using performance measurement of signaling points, roaming service nodes, and charging data from existing network management systems.

  • 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 로봇의 응용서비스를 제공하는데 필요한 네트워크로서 로보틱 지그비 네트워크의 개념을 소개하고 이를 이용한 응용 시나리오를 제시한다. 제시한 응용시나리오의 기본이 되는 네트워크 연결 및 데이터 전송에 관한 실험을 수행하였다. 이 실험 결과를 통해 앞으로 Robotic Zigbee Network를 이용한 위치인식 오차율을 최소화하는 로봇의 위치추정 및 추적 알고리즘 개발의 기반을 마련한다.

  • A network topology has been an important factor for an efficient network management, but data collection for the network configuration has been done manually or semi automatically by a network administrator or an expert. Requirements to generate an intro-domain network topology ar usually either all IP addresses with subne $t^ernet mask or the network identification of all IP addresses. The amounts of traffic are generally high in the semi-automatic system due to using large number of low-level protocols and commands to get rather simple data. In this paper, we propose an algorithm which can be executed with only publicly available input. It can find all IP addresses as well as the network boundary of an intra-domain by using an intelligent method developed in this algorithm. The collected data will be used to draw a network map automatically by using a proposed network topology generation algorithm.hm.

  • 본 논문에서는 오드 연결망을 기반으로 하는 새로운 상호연결망, 계층적 오드 연결망 HON($C_d,C_d$)을 제안한다. 그리고 HON($C_d,C_d$)의 여러 가지 망성질(연결도, 라우팅 알고리즘, 지름, 방송 등)을 분석한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 HON($C_d,C_d$)가 오드 연결망과 HCN(m,m), HFN(m,m)보다 우수한 연결망임을 보인다.

  • Fuzzy logic ignores some information in the reasoning process. Neural networks are powerful tools for the pattern processing, but, not appropriate for the logical reasoning. To model human knowledge, besides pattern processing capability, the logical reasoning capability is equally important. Another new neural network called neural logic network is able to do the logical reasoning. Because the fuzzy inference is a fuzzy logical reasoning, we construct fuzzy inference network based on the neural logic network, extending the existing rule- inference. network. And the traditional propagation rule is modified. For the search strategies to find out the belief value of a conclusion in the fuzzy inference network, we conduct a simulation to evaluate the search costs for searching sequentially and searching by means of search priorities.

Beyond Speed : Nine Dimensions of Computer Network Quality Perceived by Its Users

  • The trend toward globalization and competitive advantage is increasing the importance of international data communication . The more companies attempt to be globalized and competitive, the more critical the problems of the computer networks are. To improve computer networks in the business world, it is believed that the network shoud be approached from the viewpoint of service quality : we need to understand what network quality means to network users, those who use the network. The purpose of this study is to develop a dimension that captures the aspects of network quality that are important to network users. Many articles show that speed is very important factor in network systems. But the more important thing is that speed is just one of the factors contributing to network quality. It is suggested that a quality network meet nine dimensions : (1) speed (2) accessibility (3) connectivity (4) security (5) compatibility, (6) government restrictions (7) complexity (8) sustainability and (9) sharability.

  • This paper describe the optimal design of geodetic network by analytical technique based on the quality criteria of network. We described an example of geodetic network design taking into account the precision, reliability and strength that are the main criteria of network design. The main goal of this paper is to evaluate the criteria to design the geodetic network coinciding with the criteria of geometrical strength and high reliability. From this study, the result shows relatively weaker strength in marginal part than the center of network. This indicated that the precision of observation in marginal part is relatively lower than the center.

  • This paper presents a network-based traction control system(TCS), where several electric control units(ECUs) are connected by a controller area network(CAN) communication system. The control system consists of four ECUs: the electric throttle controller, the transmission controller, the engine controller and the traction controller. In order to validate the traction control algorithm of the network-based TCS and evaluate its performance, a Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS) environment was developed. Herein we propose a new concept of the HILS environment called the network-based HILS(Net-HILS) for the development and validation of network-based control systems which include smart sensors or actuators. In this study, we report that we have designed a network-based TCS, validated its algorithm and evaluated its performance using Net-HILS.
