도심하천과 자연하천의 저서성 대형무척추동물 군집 구조 (Community Structure of Benthic Macroinvertebrate in the Urban and Nature Stream)

  • This study was conducted to compare benthic macroinvertebrate communities of urban stream and nature stream in Daegu-si, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsan-si, Andong-si, and Cheongsong-gun. The survey was carried out with 12 points in total six points for urban stream, six points for nature stream from Sept. 2011 to July 2012. In the urban stream were 33 species belonged to 24 families, 11 orders, 7 classes and 4 phyla while in the nature stream were 73 species belonged to 38 families, 12 orders, 5 classes and 4 phyla. In general, species diversity indices and species richness indices appeared low in urban stream but dominance indices was high. Functional feeding groups and Habitat Oriented Groups appeared comparatively simple in urban stream rather than nature stream. As a result of analysis of community stability, species included to area I and area III equally appeared in nature stream while species included to area I mostly appeared in urban stream. An analysis of the correlation between the population density and the number of species, the population number and biological indicators such as DI, H', RI, and ESB revealed that there was a significant correlativity with the diversity index and a very high correlativity with the number of species, abundance index and the ESB. On the other hand, the population number and the dominance index did not reveal any correlativity. For indicator species, Hydroptila KUa, Physa acuta appeared in urban stream while Paraleptophlebia chocolata, Epeorus pellucidus appeared in nature stream.

과학에 대한 초등 교사의 인식에 따른 자연과 수업 분석 (Elementary Science Instruction Analysis According to Teacher의s Understanding Toward Science)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out how to be pursued elementary teachers' science instruction according to their understanding toward science. Sixty elementary teachers were involved in the questionnaire, investigating understanding on the nature of science and the science teaching. Two elementary teachers' science classes are observed. Their instructional objectives were analyzed. And their understanding toward science was measured. Teacher A had consistent modern philosophical views of science on the nature of science and science teaching, and teacher B had not consistency Klopfer's science educational objectives category was used to analyse instructional objective. The ideal proportions of the instructional objectives of the observed classes were established from science education specialist group. You ideality index was calculated. You ideality index indicate how far from the ideal proportions of the instructional objectives the observed instruction is. Relative proportions of instructional objectives appeared in science classes were compared with ideal instructional objectives. Instructional objectives containing the modem views appearing classes observed were compared according to teachers' understanding toward science. As results, teachers' understanding toward science showed lack of consistency, which is consisted of modern philosophical view of science on science teaching: modem and classical philosophical view of science on nature of science. Teacher A's instruction was approached more closely to the ideal proportions of the instructional objectives, showing fewer You ideality index. Instructional objectives containing the modern views are more appeared and closer to ideal proportions in teacher A's classes than in teacher B's. A teacher having modern understanding on nature of science would instruct science with modern scientific philosophical perspectives. Therefore teacher preparation programs should include more contents about modern philosophical understanding on the nature of science.

Nature Activities in Urban Parks to Encourage Curiosity and Scientific Problem-Solving Ability in Kindergarteners

  • This study was conducted based on the fact that children in institutions for early childhood education located in cities lack the opportunity to experience nature. Therefore, urban parks are where it is possible to observe nature and natural environment, through which we examined the effects of nature activities on kindergarten children's curiosity and scientific problem-solving ability. The subjects of this study were 5-years old kindergarten children in attending public kindergartens in Cheonan and Asan and 42 children were randomly selected. The pretest and posttest were conducted on curiosity and scientific problem-solving ability before and after nature activities. The results showed that nature activities in urban parks had significant effects on improvement of kindergarten children's curiosity and scientific problem-solving ability (p <.05). Therefore, nature activities in urban parks had positive effects on preference for unknown and exploratory behavior, which are sub-factors of kindergarten children's curiosity. Nature activities also had positive effects on discovery and statement of the problem, creation and application of ideas, and conclusion to problem solving.

오대산 국립공원의 자연해설 활성화에 대한 연구 (The Study of Activation on Nature Interpretation for Odae Mountain National Park)

  • Surveys for visitor's awareness and on-the-spot investigations at Odae Mountain National Park were conducted for activation of nature interpretation. As a result, many problems on observation trails as the object of the nature interpretation were identified. The nature interpretation is not functioning fully for the side of environmental education. The situation and problems of nature interpretation were analyzed in depth based on the survey of the visitors. In order to improve roles of the nature observation trails and solve the present problems immediately, suggestions are as the followings. I) Road resurfacing and space development needed to solve the problems of existing nature observation trail. 2) Public relations for nature observation trail and production of signboards promoting visitor's interest. 3) Development of nature observation trail used only for nature interpretation 4) Development of adequate Korean interpretation program based on systematic nature interpretation models from other developed countries

자연과학계박물관의 전시내용구성체계와 공간구조 상관성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between System of Exhibition Contents and Structure of Exhibition Space in Nature & Science Museums)

  • This study aims to understand the correlation between system of exhibition contents and structure of exhibition space in nature and science museums. So, in this paper it deals with 10 examples of overseas nature and science museums as analytical objects, using Space Syntax as an analytical tool. In conclusion, the system of exhibition contents of nature & science museums can be divided into field and theme, and subdivided into total 6 systems according to categorization and integration. The system of exhibition contents by field is generally characterized by unconstricted access and system of exhibition contents by theme is generally marked by high visual openness. And the system of exhibition content according to categorization is characterized by strong concentration on exhibitory convex and its wide distribution.

초등과학 영재교사와 일반교사의 과학교육에 대한 신념 비교 (Comparison of Beliefs in Science Education of Elementary Teachers for the Gifted and General Teachers)

  • 이 연구는 과학의 본성, 과학교수. 과학학습에 대한 초등과학 영재담당교사와 일반교사의 신념을 비교한 것이다. 이 연구를 위하여 초등과학 영재담당교사 88명과 초등학교 일반교사 90명을 대상으로 과학의 본성, 과학교수, 과학학습에 대한 신념을 측정하는 설문을 실시하였으며, 교사의 최종학력, 심화전공에 따른 과학교육의 본성과 그 하위 영역에 대한 신념의 차이를 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 초등과학 영재담당교사와 일반교사 사이에는 과학의 본성과 과학교수에 대한 신념의 차이는 없었으나 과학학습에 대한 신념에서는 영재담당교사가 더 구성주의적인 신념을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 과학의 본성, 과학교수, 과학학습의 하위 영역에 대한 최종학력과 심화과정에 따른 두 집단 간의 신념에서는 일부 하위 영역에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 연구 결과를 토대로 영재교사의 선발, 영재교사를 위한 연수에 대한 시사점 등이 논의되었다.

Pre-service Teachers' Conceptions of the Nature of Science

  • We have studied 73 pre-service science teachers' conceptions about the nature of science (NOS) using 120 true-false test items based on AAAS Benchmarks statements. We have found that participants have inadequate understanding of the NOS, especially in understanding of five categories of conceptions; change and continuity in science, bias in scientific investigations, hypothesis in scientific investigations, things common in science, and science ethics. The result also indicates that there is a difference between primary pre-service teachers and secondary pre-service teachers. From the analysis of consistency, we also found that this inadequate understanding comes from confusion rather than misconception. All the results support that there is a need of intense pre-service teacher education concerning thenature of science.

자연사박물관의 전시에 반영된 과학의 본성 (The Nature of Science Reflected in Exhibitions of Natural History Museums)

  • 이 연구는 비형식적 교육기관인 자연사 박물관의 전시를 학교 과학교육에 활용하기 위한 장기적인 목적 하에, 과학교육과정의 주요한 목표 중의 하나인 과학의 본성 측면이 박물관의 전시에 어떻게 반영되고 있는지를 살펴본 기술적 연구이다. 국내 4개 자연사박물관 혹은 자연사 전시실의 전시 중에서 과학 탐구 중심의 전시와 과학사 사례 중심의 전시를 대상으로, 전시매체, 그리고 설명문의 서술방식과 내용에서 반영되는 과학의 본성은 어떤지를 살펴보았다. 설명문의 서술방식은 확정적인지 해석적인지를 살펴보았고, 내용으로는 과학자 중심, 과학자 집단 논의, 사회 문화적 배경, 주장에 대한 근거, 과학지식의 변화가능성 여부를 살펴보았다. 이 연구 결과를 통해 전체적으로 자연사박물관에 과학의 본성 측면이 드러난 전시가 풍부하지 않음을 파악할 수 있었으며, 따라서 의도적으로 과학의 본성 교육을 위한 전시가 절실히 필요하다는 점을 알 수 있다. 이 연구의 결과는 학교과학교육에서 접근하기 어려운 과학의 본성을 교육시키기 위한 훌륭한 자료 원으로서 자연사박물관의 전시 및 교육의 방향과 개선 방안을 위한 기초 자료를 제공한다.

Three New Oleanane-Type Triterpene Saponins from Gladiolus gandavensis

  • Three new oleanane-type triterpene saponins (1, 2 and 3) were isolated from aerial parts of Gladiolus gandavensis, along with two known compounds (4 and 5). Their structures were elucidated as 29-O-($\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl)-$2{\beta}$,$3{\beta}$-dihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oicacid(1), 3-O-($\beta$-D-xylopyranosyl)-29-O-($\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl)-12-en-28-oic acid (2), and $2{\beta}$,$3{\beta}$,29-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid 28-O-[$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl($1{\rightarrow}2$)-($\alpha$-L-rhamnopyranosyl($1{\rightarrow}6$))-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl] ester (3), by spectroscopic methods, and by comparison with known analogues. These oleanane-type triterpene saponins glycosidated at C-29 were not obtained frequently.
