  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the movements of the lower extremity muscle activities during a taekwondo kick motion called 'Balbutyeo Naeryeochagi', which was administered to players to improve their posture and muscle activity. Eight professional players and Eight amateur players were recruited as the subjects. Kinematic data were collected by EMG equipment, and the rectus femoris, tibialis anterior, biceps femoris, and medial gastrocnemius were measured using this instruments. This study processed the data using the Windows SPSS Ver. 18.0 to get an independent t-test, with the setting, p<.05. During the 'Balbutyeo Naeryeochagi' kick motion, there were small and inconsistent effects on each part. Results indicated that rectus femoris, tibialis anterior between two groups showed significantly difference in P1 and P2. Biceps femoris muscle activity in P2 showed large values in amateur group, and gastrocnemius showed no significantly difference between professional and amateur player during 'Balbutyeo Naeryeochagi' kick motion.

  • The aim of this study is to grasp the features of the object which reveals its own specific purposes, and to apply them to the product concept and design forms when designers develop products. For this study, the subjects of the experiment were chosen to fill out a basic questionnaire, and an image analysis of them was performed. After the analysis, the functional design elements of the subjects were extracted and coded. They preyed the correlation between the results of the image analysis and the characteristics of the subjects. The questionnaire was carried out to determine the characteristics of the subjects. As the features of specific products were extracted through this experiment, they can be used as basic data to analyze consumer needs and to better understand the products when we design for them. This can be useful fundamental data enabling designers to understand products easily and to establish concepts for their designs. In the case of the MP3 player in this study, the results of the image analysis of it are turned out to be sound quality, compatibility, portability, employment, interface, and personality. Their respective related features were investigated as well. The important features of designing the MP3 player were presented. Through this fundamental study, it will be possible to understand consumer's needs more effectively, which will bring about the development of the fundamental basis of various fields in design.

  • Containers are commonly used as an effective and relatively inexpensive method for transporting goods. Unfortunately, there are often imbalances between the number of import and export containers, and some ports have a surplus of empty containers while others have a deficit. The Empty Container Simulation Game was developed to address these problems. The game is a computer role playing simulation that simulates the distribution of empty containers in order to solve empty container imbalances among ports. An optimal solution is obtained by the computer using linear programming (LP). Upon completion of the game, a player's game results are displayed along with the LP solution. The game interface was designed to provide easy access and operation. This game will serve to provide an easy understanding and planning for empty container management.

  • Purpose:This phenomenological study was to describe and to understand nurses' experiences of caring for woman with disability during pregnancy and childbirth. Methods: Participants were 13 nurses from 3 hospitals and 2 local clinics in J city, and were selected through snow-balling method. Data were collected two face to face, semi-structured interviews. The researcher used MP3 player and smart phone for recording as well as transcription process. As for the data analysis, Colaizzi's method was applied. Results: Nurses' experiences were structured as four theme clusters: 'Communicating between/among nurses', 'Recognizing pregnancy and childbirth of woman with disability', 'Taking care of woman with disability based on their differences' and 'Reflecting on nursing care for woman with disability'. Conclusion: It seemed that nurses' recognition to woman with disability and her pregnancy and childbirth was related their nursing care for woman with disability.

  • In this paper we propose a serious game for experience of music performance, which allows users to readily enjoy musical playing, even if the player has little or no experience in playing musical instruments. This game makes it easier for users to correctly perform given melodies along with standard performance, using a score-adjusting algorithm that can cope with the particular errors commonly made by beginners. This music performance is achieved by the agent to interpret the gestural sign of the user. We understands the interaction of the user and the agent as a communication model from the Peircean Semiotic perspectives.

  • Leptin, the product of the ob gene, is primarily produced and released from adipocytes and acts on the hypothalamus to decrease food intake and increase energy expenditure. Defect in leptin or leptin receptors results in severe metabolic syndromes such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension Evidence suggests that leptin plays beyond a satiety factor; in fact, it is a pluripotent player In regulation of numerous body functions. Although its actions have been relatively well studied in mammals scanty data are available in birds. In this article, recent advances in understanding of the roles of leptin in chicken physiology are reviewed with the focus on the effects on food intake, lipid metabolism, development and reproduction, and stress.

  • Chorioamnionitis is an inflammation in the fetal membranes or placenta. When chorioamnionitis develops, fetal lungs are exposed to inflammatory cytokines and mediators via amniotic fluid. Because inflammation plays a pivotal role in the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), a chronic lung disease of prematurity, fetal lung inflammation induced by chorioamnionitis has been considered to be one of the major pathogenetic factors for BPD. Although there have been a number of studies that demonstrated the relationship between chorioamnionitis and BPD, there are still controversies on this issue. The controversies on the relationship between chorioamnionitis and BPD arise from not-unified definitions of chorioamnionitis and BPD, different study populations, and the proportion of contribution between inflammation and infectious microorganisms. The publication bias also contributes to the controversies. Clinical trials targeting chorioamnionitis or microorganisms that cause chorioamnionitis will answer on the actual relationship between chorioamnionitis and BPD and provide a novel prophylactic strategy against BPD based on that relationship.

  • In this study, we propose a pseudo golf club which can sense user's swing motion and virtual golf simulation system using the pseudo golf club. The proposed system is a virtual golf simulation system of a complex play type in which a player can enjoy various types of golf play according to the user's taste by providing a play mode for hitting an actual golf ball and a play mode for swinging the pseudo golf club. This virtual golf play system calculates and displays the trajectory of a golf ball by a simulator just like playing a real golf, and suggests suitable swing motion, so it helps users to learn golf easily.

  • Not much is known about the membrane trafficking of TRPV1, a key player in pain transduction. Rab11-FIP3, which plays a role in various intracellular transportation pathways, has been reported to interact with TRPV1. In this study, in order to examine the role of Rab11-FIP3 in the membrane trafficking of TRPV1, Rab11-FIP3 expression in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) was inhibited using a siRNA technique. Transportation of TRPV1 to membranes was found to decrease when Rab11-FIP3 expression was inhibited, consistent with the results obtained with TRPV1-transfected HEK cells. Taken together, these results indicate that Rab11-FIP3 plays a role in the membrane trafficking of TRPV1.

  • With the exponential developments of social network, their fundamental role as a medium to spread information, ideas, and influence has gained importance. It can be expressed by the relationships and interactions within a group of individuals. Therefore, some models and researches from various domains have been in response to the influence maximization problem for the effects of "word of mouth" of new products. For example, in reality, more than two related social groups such as commercial companies and service providers exist within the same market issue. Under such a scenario, they called social adversaries competitively try to occupy their market influence against each other. To address the influence maximization (IM) problem between them, we propose a novel IM problem for social adversarial players (IM-SA) which are exploiting the social network attributes to infer the unknown adversary's network configuration. We sophisticatedly define mathematical closed form to demonstrate that the proposed scheme can have a near-optimal solution for a player.
