스퍼드 준설선 공정관리시스템을 이용한 항로준설작업의 평가 (Evaluation of Waterway Dredging Work using Spud Dredge Process Management System)

  • 해상 준설선을 이용한 항로의 준설시공 과정에서 중요한 점은 작업구역의 공간적 축소로 여유통항수역의 제공과 수면하의 위험물 배제로 안전항행을 제공하는 것이 기본이다. 이를 위해서는 준설선의 이동과 고정을 위한 보조장비의 적극적인 활용과 함께 부대 장비의 실시간 위치확인, 실시간 준설수심 확인 및 작업정보 등을 통합적인 정보로 제공하여 준설 작업의 자동화를 꾀해야 한다. 그런데, 본 연구에서 스퍼드 제어시스템을 비치한 준설선은 준설 시공시 준설구역 내 준설점 위치로 이동을 스퍼드로 하고 스퍼드는 자동제어 기술을 적용하여 준설선의 능동적 이동에 의한 준설시공을 행하여 최소의 작업공간을 점유하게 되므로 항행하는 타 선박의 안전한 통과를 허용하면서 준설공사를 중단 없이 시공할 수 있다. 또한, 스퍼드 활용 항로준설시스템은 스퍼드의 거동괘적은 물론 전자해도와 함께 작업심도 자료를 동시에 제공하므로 신속한 작업성과까지도 제시할 수 있다는 점에서 기존의 관리시스템과는 비교가 된다. 시스템 평가를 위한 부산항에서의 시험시공결과 일일 작업 시 기존의 앵카시스템을 이용한 작업시간의 2배정도를 실제 투입할 수 있었으며, 준설시공 요건별 비교에서도 준비시간을 $38\%$ 절감할 수 있었고 준비작업에 필요한 작업인력을 1인 줄일 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

국가의 해양주권 수호를 위한 한국해군의 전력건설 방향 (The Construction Direction of the ROK NAVY for the Protection of Marine Sovereignty)

  • Withe increased North Korea's security threats, the South Korean navy has been faced with deteriorating security environment. While North Korea has increased asymmetric forces in the maritime and underwater with the development of nuclear weapons, and China and Japan have made a large investment in the buildup of naval forces, the power of the Pacific fleet of the US, a key ally is expected to be weakened. The biggest threat comes from China's intervention in case of full-scale war with North Korea, but low-density conflict issues are also serious problems. North Korea has violated the Armistice Agreement 2,660 times since the end of Korean War, among which the number of marine provocations reaches 1,430 times, and the tension over the NLL issue has been intensifying. With tension mounting between Korea and Japan over the Dokdo issue and conflict escalating with China over Ieo do Islet, the US Navy has confronted situation where it cannot fully concentrate on the security of the Korean peninsula, which leads to need for strengthening of South Korea's naval forces. Let's look at naval forces of neighboring countries. North Korea is threatening South Korean navy with its increased asymmetric forces, including submarines. China has achieved the remarkable development of naval forces since the promotion of 3-step plan to strengthen naval power from 1989, and it now retains highly modernized naval forces. Japan makes an investment in the construction of stat of the art warship every year. Since Japan's warship boasts of its advanced performance, Japan's Maritime Self Defense Force is evaluated the second most powerful behind the US Navy on the assumption that submarine power is not included in the naval forces. In this situation, naval power construction of South Korean navy should be done in phases, focusing on the followings; First, military strength to repel the energy warship quickly without any damage in case of battle with North Korea needs to be secured. Second, it is necessary to develop abilities to discourage the use of nuclear weapons of North Korea and attack its nuclear facilities in case of emergency. Third, construction of military power to suppress armed provocations from China and Japan is required. Based on the above naval power construction methods, the direction of power construction is suggested as follows. The sea fleet needs to build up its war potential to defeat the naval forces of North Korea quickly and participate in anti-submarine operations in response to North Korea's provocations. The task fleet should be composed of 3 task flotilla and retain the power to support the sea fleet and suppress the occurrence of maritime disputes with neighboring countries. In addition, it is necessary to expand submarine power, a high value power asset in preparation for establishment of submarine headquarters in 2015, develop anti-submarine helicopter and load SLAM-ER missile onto P-3C patrol aircraft. In case of maine corps, division class military force should be able to conduct landing operations. It takes more than 10 years to construct a new warship. Accordingly, it is necessary to establish plans for naval power construction carefully in consideration of reality and future. For the naval forces to safeguard maritime sovereignty and contribute to national security, the acquisition of a huge budget and buildup of military power is required. In this regard, enhancement of naval power can be achieved only through national, political and military understanding and agreement. It is necessary to let the nation know that modern naval forces with improved weapon system can serve as comprehensive armed forces to secure the command of the sea, perform defense of territory and territorial sky and attack the enemy's strategic facilities and budget inputted in the naval forces is the essential source for early end of the war and minimization of damage to the people. If the naval power construction is not realized, we can be faced with a national disgrace of usurpation of national sovereignty of 100 years ago. Accordingly, the strengthening of naval forces must be realized.

SLM-PTS 결합기법 및 ETD-Turbo부호를 적용한 OFDM 시스템에서의 PAR 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on PAR Improvement of OFDM system using SLM-PTS Combine Method and ETD-Turbo Code)

  • 본 논문에서는 OFDM 방식의 문제점으로 지적되고 있는 송신단에서의 PAR 특성을 고려하여 고속 적응형 PTS 기법과 SLM 기법을 결합한 SLM-PTS 결합기법을 제안하였다. 또한, PAR 저감기법을 적용한 시스템을 평가하기 위하여 ETD-Turbo 부호를 사용한 COFDM 시스템을 구성한 후 성능을 평가하였다. 분석 결과 제안된 SLM-PTS 기법이 연산량을 경감시키며 전반적으로 우수한 PAR 저감성능을 보임을 알 수 있었다. 특히 Combine 3의 경우 10-5 BER을 기준으로 약 $3.7\~3.9\;dB$ 정토의 개선된 PAR 성능을 보였다. 또한, 터보부호를 사용한 경우 전반적으로 우수한 PAR 성능을 보임을 알 수 있었고, ETD-Turbo 부호를 적응한 경우 추가적으로 약 0.5 dB 정도의 성능 개선효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

A Study on Heuristic Berthing System Design with Winch and Damper Assistance

  • Vessel maneuvering problem in the harbor area is generating considerable interests in terms of marine cybernetics. In this sense, the vessel is operated and moves at ultimately low or zero speed in shallow water area. So the vessel is usually aided by the cooperation with thrusters, main propulsion system, tugboats and pilots, etc. In this paper, we suggest a new vessel berthing technique using dampers and winches as a solution for excessively complicate and dangerous berthing work. In the proposed berthing method, in order to manipulate the actuators (winches and dampers), a simple and heuristic control strategy is applied for a basic experiment. Finally, experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed automatic vessel berthing strategy based on the heuristic control method.

Investigation of Thermal Conductivity and Convective Heat Transfer of Alumina Nanofluids under Laminar Flow

  • In this research, dilute colloidal suspension alumina nanofluids were prepared by dispersing alumina nanoparticles in DI water and ethylene glycol as base fluids. Particle size analyzer and TEM test results revealed that the size of the alumina nanofluids(3wt% and 5wt%) with dispersion time 3hrs were 46nm and 60nm respectively. Thermal conductivity of these alumina nanofluids was measured by means of hot wire technique using a LAMBDA system. For water based alumina nanofluids, thermal conductivity enhancement was from 2.29% to 3.06% with 5wt% alumina at temperatures ranging from 15 to $40^{\circ}C$. Whereas in case of ethylene glycol based alumina nanofluids under the same temperature range, thermal conductivity enhancement was from 9.6% to 10% with 5wt% alumina. An enhancement of 37% average convective heat transfer was achieved with 5wt% alumina nanofluids at Re of 1,100.

Compensation for Distorted Signals by using Optimal Pump Light Power in WDM Systems with Non-midway Optical Phase Conjugator

  • In this paper, the optimal pump light power of optical phase conjugator (OPC) and the compensation characteristics of distorted WDM channel signals are numerically investigated, when the OPC with highly-nonlinear dispersion shifted fiber (HNL-DSF) not be placed at the mid-way of total transmission length. The total dispersion of former half section and latter half section is assumed to be same each other in this approach. It is confirmed that, in WDM transmission systems with OPC deviated from the mid-way, the pump light power for best compensation must be flexible selected depending on the OPC position. This optimal pump light power is gradually increased as the OPC is gradually closer to the receiver. Consequently, it is possible to establish the compensation system independent on the OPC position by setting optimal pump light power connected with the OPC position.

A study of a flatfish outlook model using a partial equilibrium model approach based on a DEEM system

  • The purpose of this study is to construct a flatfish outlook model that is consistent with the "Fisheries outlook" monthly publication of the fisheries outlook center of the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI). In particular, it was designed as a partial equilibrium model limited to flatfish items, but a model was constructed with a dynamic ecological equation model (DEEM) system, considering biological breeding and shipping times. Due to limited amounts of monthly data, the market equilibrium price was calculated using a recursive model method as the inverse demand. The main research results and implications are as follows. As a result of estimating young fish inventory levels, the coefficient of the young fish inventory in the previous period was estimated to be 0.03, which was not statistically significant. Because there is distinct seasonality, when estimating the breeding outcomes, the elasticity of breeding in the previous period was found to exceed 0.7, and it increased more as the weight of the fish increased, in addition, the shipment coefficient gradually increased as the weight increased, which means that as the fish weight increased, the shipment compared to the breeding volume increased. When estimating shipments, the elasticity of breeding in previous period was estimated to respond elastically as the weight increases. The price flexibility coefficient of the total supply was inelastically estimated to be -0.19. Finally, according to a model predictive power test, the Theil U1 was estimated to be very low for all of the predictors, indicating excellent predictive power.

영향계수의 전달에 의한 2중 원통형 셸의 자유진동해석 (Free Vibration Analysis of Double Cylindrical Shells Using Transfer of Influence Coefficent)

  • The transfer influence coefficient method which is an vibration analysis algorithm based on the transfer of influence coefficient is applied to the free vibration analysis of double cylindrical shells. After the computational programs for the free vibration analysis of double cylindrical shells were made using the transfer influence coefficient method and the transfer matrix method, we compared the results using the transfer influence coefficient method with those by the transfer matrix method. The transfer influence coefficient method provided the good computational results in the free vibration analysis of double cylindrical shells. In particular, The results of the transfer influence coefficient method are superior to those of the transfer matrix method when the stiffness of internal springs connecting a inside cylindrical shell and a outside cylindrical shell is very large.

축대칭 원통형 셸의 응력해석 (Stress Analysis of Axisymmetric Cylindrical Shell)

  • In this paper, the algorithm for the static analysis of an axisymmetric cylindrical shell by using the finite element-transfer stiffness coefficient method (FE-TSCM) is suggested. TE-TSCM combining both the modeling procedure of the finite element method (FEM) and the transfer procedure of the transfer stiffness coefficient method (TSCM) has the advantages of FEM and TSCM. After computational programs are made by both FE-TSCM and FEM for the stress analysis of the axisymmetric cylindrical shell, we compare the numerical results by FE-TSCM with those of FEM for two computational models in order to confirm the trust of FE-TSCM.

강성계수의 전달을 이용한 일정 단면을 갖는 비틀림 축계의 고유진동수 민감도 해석 (Sensitivity Analysis for Natural Frequency of Torsional Shafting with Constant Cross Section Using Transfer of Stiffness Coefficient)

  • In this paper, the authors formulate the sensitivity analysis algorithm for the natural frequency of a torsional shafting by expanding the transfer stiffness coefficient method. The basic concept of the present algorithm is based on the transfer of sensitivity stiffness coefficient, which is the derivative of stiffness coefficient with respect to design parameter, at every node from the first node to the last node in analytical model. The effectiveness of the present algorithm is confirmed by comparing the results of the sensitivity analysis and those of the reanalysis for the natural frequencies of a torsional shafting with a constant cross section. In numerical calculation, the design parameter is the diameter of the shaft element of the torsional shafting.
