This study investigates the effects of economic factors on happiness in terms of life satisfaction, one of the most important goals in human life, and examines the moderating role of financial management in the effect of financial stress. Data were collected total 341 individuals in Daejeon, Korea(235 college students and 105 women). The factors influencing life satisfaction were analyzed multiple regression analysis. Effects of moderating variables were tested hierarchical regression analysis. Subjective financial stress was related to both individualistic happiness and collectivistic happiness, whereas objective financial stress had a negative effect only on collectivistic happiness. Financial management (specifically control of expenditure behaviors) had positive effects on both individualistic happiness and collectivistic happiness. Financial management moderated the relationship between financial stress and happiness. The results have important implications.

In order to achieve this aims, a fundamental work to select the educational contents was preceded with a survey of learners' needs, preceding studies. After choice of educational contents, learners' demands on how to manage the educational program was executed in advance. The participants in this study were 500 students, resulting in 460 with usable data. Second, reflection the above mentioned educational contents, a concrete financial management educational program was built. This program consists of 9 domains: financial planning, careers and income, consumer spending, credit use and Credit cards, Managing Taxes, investment planning, risk management and insurance, retirement and estate planning, contribution. The participants for this program implementation were 68 students. Third, to evaluate the effects of the financial management educational program, paired t-test was conducted in using the SPSS package. This study explored the level and general propensity of the economic distress and the financial management behavior of household financial managers and analyzes the effects of economic distress and the sub dimensions to financial management behaviors. The research results can be summarized as follows. 1. The overall level of economic distress of household financial managers was middle-levels and the financial management behavior were slightly higher than mid-point. 2. Regarding the household variables on the economic distress of household financial managers, education levels and occupations of husbands, monthly income, financial knowledge were the variables that had a significant negative effect on the economic distress. That is, higher education levels of husbands, husbands with management-level/professional-level career, higher monthly income, and higher level of financial knowledge generated lower economic distress. 3. Regarding the household variables and the economic distress on the financial management behavior, monthly income, and financial knowledge were the variables that had a significant positive effect on the financial management behavior. On the contrary, income-asset distress was negative variable. Thus, higher monthly income, higher level of financial knowledge, and lower level of economic distress generated higher financial management behavior. Statistically significant differences were detected in financial management behavior sub dimensions. From this research, it could be concluded that the main variables affecting the level of financial management behaviors are income-asset distresses and financial knowledge.

Being aware of the risk in advance necessitates intricate processes but is feasible. Although previous studies have demonstrated high accuracy, their performance still leaves room for improvement. A self-organizing feature map (SOM) based neurofuzzy model is developed in this study to provide another alternative for forecasting corporate financial distress. The model is designed to yield high prediction accuracy, as well as reference rules for evaluating corporate financial status. As a database, the study collects all financial reports from listed construction companies during the latest decade, resulting in over 1000 effective samples. The proportion of "failed" and "non-failed" companies is approximately 1:2. Each financial report is comprised of 25 ratios which are set as the input variable s. The proposed model integrates the concepts of pattern classification, fuzzy modeling and SOM-based optimization to predict corporate financial distress. The results exhibit a high accuracy rate at 85.1%. This model outperforms previous tools. A total of 97 rules are extracted from the proposed model which can be also used as reference for construction practitioners. Users may easily identify their corporate financial status by using these rules.

The study aims to examine the role of financial risk management in predicting the financial performance of commercial banks in Pakistan over the period of 2006-2017. For this purpose, risk management is measured through credit risk, interest rate risk, and liquidity risk, while financial performance is measured through ROA, ROE, and ROI. For this purpose, the dynamic panel model and two step GMM panel estimators are used to test the hypothesis empirically. The annual secondary data has been taken from the published financial reports of commercial banks of Pakistan. The results show that financial risk management significantly decreases the financial performance of commercial banks in Pakistan. Overall, the results are conclusive across the alternative measures of financial risk management in predicting the financial performance of the banking sector in Pakistan. The study suggested that managers should adopt risk management and risk hedging strategies to manage commercial banks' financial risks in Pakistan. They should hold extra cash while using the trade credit facilities. Previous studies mostly used a static model, but this study used a dynamic panel model. This study is among the first that focused on the various factors affecting the banks' performance in Pakistan.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose useful suggestions by analyzing difference of financial performance between "Excellent Quality Competitiveness Enterprise(EQCE)" awarding companies and all the manufacturing companies during the period 2003-2014 and by testing the moderating effects of performance year. Methods: This paper perform the longitudinal study during the period 2003-2014. The collected data through list of National Quality Award and financial report of CRETOP were analyzed using independent-sample t-test, paired-sample t-test, one way ANOVA and empirical analysis. Results: The results of this study are as follows; EQCE showed higher growth rate than all the companies until 2008, but profitability, stability, and activity are not significantly different between the both. Therefore EQCE have partial influences on growth rate among several financial performance measures until 2008. Since 2009 there are no differences. The effects of EQCE on financial performance are different by the year. Conclusion: EQCE award system was a meaningful promotion method to enhance good financial performance through encouraging quality management for the manufacturing companies until 2008, But since 2009 it is expected to lose its role as a promoting tool for quality management and performance excellence. Therefore new way of thinking for EQCE, as a national quality award system, is necessary; changing awarding system, award criteria, or etc.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting credit card attitudes, financial management practices, and sound credit card use among college students, and to conceptualize a theoretical model. Earlier studies identified a number of antecedent variables (such as gender, year in college, job experience, amount of allowance, family income, living with parents, having taken a personal financial management course) and intervening variables (such as attitudes towards credit cards and financial management practices) as useful predictors of sound credit card practices. Four hundred and thirty four undergraduate students in Daejeon participated in this study. Stepwise multiple regression and path analysis were conducted. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Students' attitudes towards credit cards were affected by their you in college, whether they were living with their parents, and the amount of their allowance. Similarly, students' financial management practices were affected by their year in college, whether they were living with their parents, the amount of their allowance, and whether and not they had taken a personal financial management course. 2. Sound credit card practices were influenced by students' gender, their year in college, the amount of their allowance, attitudes towards credit cards, and financial management practices. 3. The path-analysis model demonstrates the relationships among the antecedent variables, intervening variables (credit card attitude, financial management practices), and sound credit card use.

This paper aims to not only investigate the nature of financial security and its measurement, but also to compare financial security level in 629 listed companies divided into four different industries (materials, industrials, health care, and consumer goods) before building a theoretical framework and regression models to examine the determinants of financial security. By gathering 2,167 financial statements published in Vietnamese Stock Exchange during eight years from 2012 to 2019, with the support of STATA, the research results indicate that six different internal factors, which are liquidity, profitability, firm size, debt management ratios, asset management ratios, and cash flows, explain 77.7% the change of financial security ratio and 3.4% the change in sustainable growth ratio. Specifically, while firm size has a positive impact on sustainable growth ratio but a negative impact on financial security ratio, deb management and profitability have an insignificant influence on the financial security level. Furthermore, an increase in asset management ratios would result positively in both two dependent variables whereas a rise in sustainable growth and a decline in financial security ratio are expected to witness if there is an increase in cash flows.
