  • This study intends to analyze the integrated search methods in digital libraries environment. To categorize various integration methods, I investigated the developmental properties and integration types of digital libraries from a users point of view. And then, I reviewed the current best practices of library portal which are JISC Information Environment, NSDL OCKHAM and Korea Knowledge Portal Initiatives. Nextly, I derived the two methods of Integrated search mechanisms such as aggregated search and distributed search that is useful in the digital libraries environment.

  • MAA Digital library Workshop, October 6-8, 2006 was held at the newly completed Carriage House Conference Center at MAA Headquarters. This workshop is designed to inform participants about the Mathematical Sciences Digital Library (MathDL), the new MAA Math Gateway project, and the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) and to enable participants to conduct short sessions publicizing these online resources at MAA Section Meetings. The workshop was conducted by Lang Moore, David Smith, and Eileen McIlvain. Major support is being provided by the National Science Foundation through the National Science Digital Library Program. We introduce what was in there and how we properly use and publicize them and add what we could do.

  • This paper strives to shed a light on current academic resource sharing initiatives, and seeks the measure for the cooperative information resource management. It first attempts to draw outcomes and suggestions on the basis of issues and implications identified through the analyses in the aspects of management, service, and infrastructure of academic resource sharing in other countries. For this job, research methods such as interviews and on/offline literature review are employed. Specific projects to be analyzed via literature and web site review, although not detailed in nature, are National Technical Information Service(NTIS) and The National Science Digital Library(NSDL) in the United States, Intute of United Kingdom, and Australian Research Repositories Online to the World(ARROW) of Australia. Next, the paper discusses such an issue as the orientation of national level academic resource sharing initiatives based on the comparison of characteristics of current academic resource sharing project. For this, a thorough comparison on background, outlines and characteristics of the projects and analysis on the specifics of each project were conducted as well.

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the attributes, antecedents, their consequences, and empirical indicators of rehabilitation motivation in rheumatoid arthritis patients. Methods: Walker and Avant's method was used to analyze the concept. Articles published after 1990 were searched in Medline, CINAHL, NSDL, and RISS databases using "rehabilitation", "motivation" and their combination as keywords. Results: The attributes of rehabilitation motivation are: 1) certitude and trust toward rehabilitation treatment; 2) confidence in the rehabilitation process; 3) efforts and commitments to achieve health goals; 4) psychological needs to act toward health recovery. Its antecedents include: 1) rights of self-determination; 2) goal setting and goal-oriented attitude; 3) personal needs; 4) getting rewards; 5) social and family support; 6) professional behavior of healthcare providers; and 7) least risks or costs for actions taken. Conclusion: The study results could be used as a conceptual framework for developing tools to measure the motivation of rheumatoid arthritis patients.

  • Objectives : The aim of this review was to analyse the study tendency in papers related with Ssanghwa-tang which are published in Korea from 2000 to 2019. Methods : We searched the four electronic database (NSDL, RISS, Korean traditional knowledge portal, OASIS) and checked relevant Korean journals from 2000 to 2019. We classified the papers by publish date, speciality, study method, and field of study, and analysed the study tendency. Result : 1. papers were published annually on average. 2. After classifying papers by the speciality of journal, continuous study was followed not only in korean medicine, but also in many specialities like Dietetics, Pharmacology and Tourism management. 3. In study methods, in vivo was 46%, quantitative inspection was 21%, and in vitro was 19%. 4. After classifying papers by field of study, efficacy was 49%, qualitative analysis was 27%, toxicity was 14%, and safety was 5%. 5. In efficacy, it was effective in muscloskeletal disease, cardiovascular disease, prevention of neurologic disease, antioxidation, immunization disease and so on. Conclusions : These results suggest that Ssanghwa-tang can be used as cure medicine, not just as herbal tonic, but there are not sufficient evidence based papers, so there should be further studies in order to establish Ssanghwa-tang as a cure medicine.

  • PURPOSE: This study analyzed the research trends related to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) to suggest an ICF utilization plan in the Korean clinical field. METHODS: In the RISS, KISS, NSDL, and PubMed databases, papers published between 2016 and July 2021 were collected by applying the search terms, 'ICF', 'international classification of functioning, disability and health', 'clinic', 'patient', and 'diagno'. The 44 papers selected were classified according to the analysis criteria, and the frequency and percentage were calculated. RESULTS: In domestic clinical trials, the frequency of ICF-related studies was in the order of physical therapy (n = 19) and occupational therapy (n = 14). The frequency of each study subject was observed in the order of studies related to a specific disease (n = 34) and prior studies (n = 7). The research topics were in the order of studies using ICF as a measurement tool (n = 21) and case studies with patients with specific diseases (n = 11). There were 18 studies using ICF codes and 14 papers applying the ICF domains. CONCLUSION: Over the last five years, ICF-related research in the domestic clinical field targeted patients with more diverse diseases in more expertise fields. Research for the unification of terms should be conducted for communication among various experts in clinical practice. To promote the use of ICF in the clinical field, it will be necessary to conduct research, such as the unification of terms, standardized education, development of ICF casebook, and development of ICF coding programs and guidelines.
