Application of Methane Mixed Plasma for the Determination of Ge, As, and Se in Serum and Urine by ICP/MS

  • An analytical method for the simultaneous determination of trace Ge, As and Se in biological samples by inductively coupled plasma/mass spectrometry has been investigated. The effects of added organic gas into the coolant argon gas on the analyte signal were studied to improve the detection limit, accuracy and precision. The addition of a small amount of methane (10 mL/min.) into the coolant gas channel improved the ionization of Ge, As and Se. The analytical sensitivity of the proposed Ar/CH₄system was superior by at least two-fold to that of the conventional Ar method. In the present method, the detection limits obtained for Ge, As and Se were 0.014, 0.012 and 0.064 ㎍/L, respectively. The analytical reliability of the proposed method was evaluated by analyzing the certified standard reference materials (SRM). Recoveries of 99.9% for Ge, 103% for As, 96.5% for Se were obtained for NIST SRM of freeze dried urine sample. The proposed method was also applied to the biological samples.

  • 생활공간 냉난방용 열펌프의 성능향상을 위해 R22의 대체 냉매로서 새로운 혼합냉매R22/R23/R152a(RM-1)을 개발하고 U. S. A.의 NIST사의 REFPRO Pprogram을 이용해 이 혼합냉매의 P-h diagram을 구성하여 실용화에 이용할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구는 실험을 통해 R22와 RM-1의 열펌프 성능효과를 분석하였다. 입 출구 물의 온도와 제2의 전열매체로서 물의 질량유량, 압축기의 소요 에너지 그리고 열펌프의 기타 열적 특성을 다양한 조건하에서 측정하였다. 이 실험 데이터를 통해 공기-물 열펌프 시스템에서의 RM-1과 R22의 성능계수(COP)를 비교하였다. 이를 통해, 혼합냉매 RM-1을 사용하는 열펌프 시스템은 외기온 $-17^{\circ}C$에서도 2.2의 성능계수로 작동하는 결과를 본 연구에서 보여주었다.

환기부족 구획화재에 대한 FDS 해석 및 검증 (FDS Simulation and Validation on the Under-Ventilated Compartment Fires)

  • 본 연구에서는 환기부족 조건의 구획화재에 대하여 FDS(Ver. 5.2)를 이용하여 수치해석을 수행하였고 열적 특성 및 연소 가스 생성 특성에 대한 예측성능을 평가하였다. ISO-9705 표준화재실의 2/5 크기 모형에 대한 메탄 및 헵탄, 톨루엔 화재를 모사하였으며 고온 상층부의 온도, 연소가스 농도 등에 대하여 기존의 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 실험결과와의 비교를 통해 FDS가 천정의 온도와 과환기 조건의 혼합분율의 예측에 있어서 좋은 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 화재 크기에 비해 산소의 유입량이 충분치 않은 환기부족 조건에서는 일산화탄소 및 그을름의 발생량을 실험값에 비해 크게 하향 예측하였다.

와동과 상호작용하는 대향류 비예혼합화염의 비정상 응답특성 (Unsteady Response of Counterflow Nonpremixed Flames Interacting with a Vortex)

  • A two-dimensional direct numerical simulation is performed to investigate the flame structure of $CH_4/N_2-Air$ counterflow nonpremixed flame interacting with a single vortex. The detailed transport properties and a modified 16-step augmented reduced mechanism based on Miller and Bowman#s detailed reaction mechanism are adopted in this calculation. To quantify the strain on flame induced by a vortex, a scalar dissipation rate (SDR) is introduced. The results show that fuel-side and air-side vortex cause an unsteady extinction. In this case, the flame interacting with a vortex is extinguished at much larger SDR than steady flame. It is also found that air-side vortex extinguishes a flame more rapidly than fuel-side vortex. The unsteady effect induced by flame-vortex interaction does not lead to a transient OH overshoot of the maximum steady concentration observed in experiment, while $HO_2$ radical increases more than the maximum steady concentration with increasing SDR. In addition, it is seen that NO and $NO_2$ are not sensitive to the unsteady variation of SDR.

GC-MS 기반 대사체학 기법을 이용한 택사의 산지판별모델 (Discrimination Model of Cultivation Area of Alismatis Rhizoma using a GC-MS-Based Metabolomics Approach)

  • Traditional Korean medicines may be managed more scientifically, through the development of logical criterion to verify their cultivation region. It contributes to advance the industry of traditional herbal medicines. Volatile compounds were obtained from 14 samples of domestic Taeksa and 30 samples of Chinese Taeksa by steam distillation. The metabolites were identified by NIST mass spectral library in the obtained gas chromatography/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) data of 35 training samples. The multivariate statistical analysis, such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA), and Orthogonal Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (OPLS-DA), were performed based on the qualitative and quantitative data. Finally trans-(2,3-diphenylcyclopropyl)methyl phenyl sulfoxide (47.265 min), 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-phenyl-naphthalene (47.781 min), spiro[4-oxatricyclo[5.3.0.0.(2,6)]decan-3-one-5,2'-cyclohexane] (54.62 min), 6-[7-nitrobenzofurazan-4-yl]amino-morphinan-4,5-epoxy (54.86 min), p-hydroxynorephedrine (55.14 min) were determined as marker metabolites to verify candidates for the origin of Taeksa. The statistical model was well established to determine the origin of Taeksa. The cultivation areas of test samples, each 3 domestic and 6 Chinese Taeksa were predicted by the established OPLS-DA model and it was confirmed that all 9 samples were precisely classified.

Continuous Preconcentration of Sn2+/Sn4+ by the On-line Sulfide Precipitation-Dissolution

  • The technique of an on-line preconcentration by the direct sulfide precipitation has been developed. Sn was homogeneously precipitated by sulfide, which was generated in situ from the hydrolysis of thioaceteamide. Precipitate was collected on a filter in the line and dissolved out instantaneously by KOH to be sent to an ICP. The enrichment factor was 4 with the sampling speed of 15/hr for 1.0 mL of sample. It was increased to more than 40 times when the sampling volume was increased to 10 mL with the sampling speed of 5/hr. $Sn^{2+}/Sn^{4+}$ could be separately determined with the on-line precipitation technique. The method was applied to the analysis of NIST SRM 1566 Oyster sample and yielded good agreement with the certified value.

  • 정부는 K-ICT 클라우드 활성화를 위해 정부 3.0 클라우드 추진 계획을 발표하고 관련 제도와 법률을 제정하여 클라우드 서비스 도입을 위한 정책을 추진하고 있다. 그러나 공공 분야의 클라우드 컴퓨팅 도입은 기존의 법률, 제도, 관행의 통제로 인해 미미한 실정이다. 공공 기관의 클라우드 컴퓨팅 도입 활성화를 위해 중요한 부분은 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 성능과 품질 등에 대한 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 특성을 알아야만 적격의 클라우드 컴퓨팅 사업자 선정이 가능하게 된다. 유럽 연합(European Commission)에서는 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 특성을 서비스 성능과 품질에 대한 일반특성, 기술성, 경제성으로 분류하고 있다. 그러나 클라우드 도입을 위한 설계 시 공공 기관 담당자는 클라우드 특성의 각 부문별 하위 항목에 대한 상세한 내용과 수준까지 객관적으로 평가하기 어렵다. 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 본 연구는 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 성능과 품질 및 기술 특성을 파악하여 각 특성에 대한 가중치를 구하고 우선순위 측정을 통해 사업자 선정을 위한 평가 기준으로 적용하는 기법을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, We are going to propose the fire protection system with using CAN(Controller Area Network). The larger, higher and deeper buildings are, the more dangerous people are when fire happens. We should be aware of the problems of prior fire protection system. Therefore, we construct embedded system based on CAN communication that is capable of N:N communication, and build independent fire protection system. If the fire is occurred on the building, the problem is that how fast we can detect the fire and put off it by using available system, this is major factor that reduces damage of our wealth, therefore in this studies We would like to design more stable system than current system. this system that is based on CAN communication which is available N:N communication constructs and is designed to compensate for each fault so that our aim is to reduce the line of system and cost of installation and to suppose future type fire protection system. We are simulated by NIST FDS(Fire Dynamics Simulator) to prove the efficiency of this system.

WSR 초기수트 조건에서의 입자 크기, 농도 및 화학적 특성 (WSR Study of Particle Size, Concentration, and Chemistry near Soot Inception)

  • The characteristics of soot near the soot inception point for an ethene-air flame was carried out in a WSR (well-stirred reactor). The new sampling tool like the temperature controlled filter system was introduced to minimize the condensation during sampling. The new analysis tools applied include the real time size distribution analysis with the Nano-DMA, particle size by transmission electron microscopy, C/H analysis, g filter analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis using both non-oxidative and oxidative pyrolysis. The WSR can generate young soot particles that can be collected and examined to gain insight into inception. For the current conditions, soot does not form for ${\Phi}=1.9$, inception occurs at or before ${\Phi}=2.0$, and inception combined with soot surface growth and/or coagulation occurs for ${\Phi=2.1}$. The filter samples for ${\Phi}$=1.9 are composed of volatile compounds that evolve at relatively low temperatures when heated in the presence or absence of $O_2$. The samples collected from the WSR at ${\Phi}=2.0$ and ${\Phi}=2.1$ are precursor-like in morphology and size. They have higher C/H ratios and lower organic percentages than precursor particles, but they are clearly not fully carbonized soot. The WSR PAH distribution is similar to that in young soot from inverse flames.

운전조건 변화에 따른 이산화탄소 열펌프의 냉난방 성능특성 비교 (Cooling and Heating Performances of a CO2 Heat Pump with the Variations of Operating Conditions)

  • Since operating conditions are significantly different for heating and cooling mode operations in a $CO_2$ heat pump system, it is difficult to optimize the performance of the $CO_2$ cycle. In addition, the performance of a $CO_2$ heat pump is very sensitive to outdoor temperature and gascooler pressure. In this study, the cooling and heating performances of a variable speed $CO_2$ heat pump with a twin-rotary compressor were measured and analyzed with the variations of EEV opening and compressor frequency. As a result, the cooling and heating COPs were 2.3 and 3.0, respectively, when the EEV opening was 22%. When the optimal EEV openings for heating and cooling were 28% and 16%, the cooling and heating COPs increased by 3.3% and 3.9%, respectively, over the COPs at the EEV opening of 22%. Beside, the heating performance was more sensitive to EEV opening than the cooling performance. As the compressor speed decreased by 5 Hz, the cooling COP increased by 2%, while the heating COP decreased by 8%.
