  • Let G be a reductive algebraic group and let B, F be G-modules. We denote by $VEC_{G}$ (B, F) the set of isomorphism classes in algebraic G-vector bundles over B with F as the fiber over the origin of B. Schwarz (or Karft-Schwarz) shows that $VEC_{G}$ (B, F) admits an abelian group structure when dim B∥G = 1. In this paper, we introduce a stable functor $VEC_{G}$ (B, $F^{\chi}$) and prove that it is an abelian group for any G-module B. We also show that this stable functor will have nice properties.

  • This paper proposes an analysis method to check the schedulability of a set of sporadic tasks under earliest deadline first (EDF) scheduler. The sporadic task model consists of subtasks with precedence constraints, arbitrary arrival times and deadlines. In order to determine the schedulability, we present an approach to find exact worst case response time (WCRT) of subtatsks. With the technique presented in this paper, we exploit the precedence relations between subtasks in an accurate way while taking advantage of the deadline of different subtasks. Another nice feature of our approach is that it avoids calculation time overhead by exploiting the concept of deadline busy period. Experimental results show that this consideration leads to a significant improvement compared with existing work.

  • Sophia Antipolis was planned to be developed as an innovative technopole in the southern french area near Nice, a tourist destination. from an area with very little scientific activities, it was created as a vibrant city with science and industrial and cultural activities begining from the early 1960s. A dedicated university professor, who became a politician later, Pirre Laffite, organized non governmental institutions and professional associations to designate an area with 2300 ha and planned it for environmentally clean technopole. Sophia Antipolis eventually bacame the most well known technopole in Europe, hosting 1,200 companies with 24,000 employees. In this context, this paper analyses the process of building Sophia Antipolis and the operational mechanisms of the technopole, based on the data gathered from interviews with managers of the companies and supporting institutions of Sophia Antipolis.

  • We developed a human-sized BWR(biped walking robot) driven by a new actuator based on the ball screw which has high strength and high gear ratio. The robot overcomes the limit of the driving torque of conventional BWRs. Each leg of the robot is composed of three pitch joints and one roll joint. In all, a 10 degree-of-freedom robot with two balancing joints was developed. The BWR was developed to walk autonomously such that it is actuated by small torque motors and is boarded with DC battery and controllers. In the performance test, the BWR performed nice motions of sitting-up and sitting-down. Through the test, we could find capability of high performance in biped-walking.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the inundation characteristics over coastal area due to the variation of sea level and plane arrangement of manholes using the 3D numerical model that is able to simulate directly interaction of WAve Structure Sandy beach(LES-WASS-3D). At first, The adopted model was validated through the comparison with an existing experimental data and showed fairly nice agreement. And then, the inundation characteristics over coastal area are discussed in relation to the variation of sea level and plane arrangement of manholes.

  • In this paper, we proposed a Neuro-FAX algorithm having high compression rate and good reconstruction capability in spite of noise and fonts. This algorithm processes the character part and the image part seperately. In the character part, we recognized each characters in document using neural networks, and transmitted the information recognized. And we transmitted the image part as it is by the conventional method. With character set in receiving terminal. it can produce nice document of noise free characters and different font.

  • In tile wireless communication networks although the modulation and demodulation structure with proposed BOWLIS algorithm is a little confusing but we certified that it is fit structure in fast operation processing and high speed wireless LAM system that is more strong on frequence and electro magnetic interference because it process the inputted data within 2.8Us that is faster 0.4Us than 3.2Us in standard form. Also we certified that in the sigtlt of consuming power it is better than pipe-lined structure because of reducing the processing step to 4.

  • We study the routing problem in all-wireless networks based on cooperative transmissions. We model the minimum-energy cooperative path (MECP) problem and prove that this problem is NP-complete. We hence design an approximation algorithm called cooperative shortest path (CSP) algorithm that uses Dijkstra's algorithm as the basic building block and utilizes cooperative transmissions in the relaxation procedure. Compared with traditional non-cooperative shortest path algorithms, the CSP algorithm can achieve a higher energy saving and better balanced energy consumption among network nodes, especially when the network is in large scale. The nice features lead to a unique, scalable routing scheme that changes the high network density from the curse of congestion to the blessing of cooperative transmissions.

  • A great many species of fish congregate in schools, reducing the risk of being eaten by predators and giving one of the considerable survival advantages for fishes. Such a fish school is self-organized only due to individual behaviors for matching the speed and direction with the neighboring fishes. It is interesting to simulate these fish school by small robots, because we can understand how the group structure emerges from the interaction among neighboring individuals. We use a nice simulator for Khepera robot presented by Oliver Michel. It is shown that the Khepera simulator is easily applied to fish school due to the algorithm introduced by I Aoki. The simulator includes sensor noise so appropriately that the simulator can be transferred easily to the real environment. The results of simulation are given as follows: (1) The stability as a group is shown by plotting mean deviations from the center of group ...

  • As the power facilities grow up, the optimal operation and the best maintenance of power plant can not be overestimated too much, which can enhance the plant availability and reliability much further. In this respect, fault diagnosis methodologies of dynamic system which is time-varing and strongly nonlinear have been studied. On of them is to use algorithm which is based on time-invariant, linear system, but this is not so nice a method for applying to power Plant. Therefore, the study on other techniques using Artificial Intelligence (AI) is under way. In this paper, the existing ways of fault detection are surveyed and their problems are also discussed.
