Effect of n-6/n-3 fatty acid ratio on metabolic partitioning in hyperlipidemic rats (n-6/n-3 지방산 비율이 고지혈증 랫드의 지질대사 분할에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was investigated the mechanism of action of n-6/n-3 fatty acid ratio on the metabolic partitioning of blood glycerolipids by in vivo monitoring technique in hyperlipidemic animal model rats. The ratio of cholesteryl 14C-oleate metabolized in the liver of total glycerolipids was lower in the order of n-6/n-3 ratios of 4:1, 15:1, 30:1 and control group (p<0.05). The secretion amount of phospholipid was higher in the order of n-6/n-3 ratio 4:1, 15:1, 30:1 than the control (p<0.05). The secretion amount of triglyceride was lower in especially 4:1, in order of n-6/n-3 4:1, 15:1 and 30:1 compared with the control. The ratio of phospholipid partitioning to total glycerolipid was high in orfer of n-6/n-3 ratio 4:1, 15:1, 30:1 and control (p<0.05). The triacylglycerol partitioning (%) via liver was higher 72.97, 75.93, 78.12% in n-6/n-3 4;1, 15:1, 30:1, respectively than the control of 82.25%, according to increased n-6/n-3 (p<0.05). The phospholipid partitioning (%) was lower 25.15, 18.87, 18.15% in n-6/n-3 4;1, 15:1, 30:1, respectively, compared to control 11.04%, according to increased n-6/n-3 (p<0.05).

품종에 따른 돈육의 지방 함량, 지방산 조성 및 전자코에 의한 향기 패턴의 차이 분석

  • 본 연구는 돼지 품종에 따른 지방 함량, 지방산 조성 및 전자코에 의한 향기 패턴의 차이를 분석하고자 실시하였으며, 평균 생시체중이 111 kg인 멧돼지 5두, 64 kg인 재래흑돼지 5두 및 114 kg인 개량종 돼지($Landrace{\times}Yorkshire$) 5두의 등심(M. longissimus) 부위를 본 실험에 이용하였다. 근내 지방함량은 재래흑돼지가 멧돼지, 개량종 돼지보다 유의적으로 높았다(p<0.05). 지방산 조성에서 C14:0, C18:3n3, MUFA/SFA 비율은 재래흑돼지가 가장 유의적으로 높았으며(p<0.05), C18:1n9는 개량종 돼지가 멧돼지보다 높았다(p<0.05). C16:1n7, C18:1n7, UFA/SFA 비율은 멧돼지가 가장 높았으며(p<0.05), C18:0, C20:1n9는 멧돼지가 가장 낮았다(p<0.05). C20:4 n6은 멧돼지가 개량종 돼지보다 높았고(p<0.05), C22:4n6은 재래흑돼지가 가장 높았으며(p<0.05), C22:5n3은 멧돼지가 재래흑돼지보다 높았다(p<0.05). PUFA n6/n3 비율은 개량종 돼지가 가장 낮았으며(p<0.05), 멧돼지가 재래흑돼지보다 낮았다(p<0.05). 전자코의 PCA에 의한 향기패턴은 신선육에서 품종에 따른 차이가 명확히 나타났으며, 가열육에서는 멧돼지 및 재래흑돼지, 개량종 돼지간에 차이가 나타났다. 따라서 재래흑돼지가 가장 높은 근내 지방 함량 및 가장 낮은 MUFA/SFA 비율을 가졌고, 멧돼지가 가장 높은 UFA/SFA 비율을 가졌으며, 개량종 돼지가 가장 낮은 PUFA n6/n3 비율을 가졌다. 또한 전자코에 의해 돼지 품종에 따른 돈육의 향기 패턴 차이를 효과적으로 분별할 수 있었다.

Effects of the Feeding Mixed with Various Levels of n-3 and n-6 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acid on the Lipid Components and Fatty Acid Metabolism of Serum Lipoprotein in Hyperlipidemic Rats (n-3 및 n-6계 다불포화 지방산의 함유비율이 다른 유지가 고지혈증 흰쥐의 혈청 지단백 지질성분 및 지방산 대사에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was designed to observe the effects of the feeding mixed with the sardine oil containing n-3 EPA, DHA and the safflower oil in which rich n-6 linoleic acid on the improvement of the lipids and on the fatty acid matabolism of serum lipoprotein in the dietary hyperlipidemic rats. Experimental oils mixed with 16% butter(control group) and 8% butter+8% olive oil, 8% butter and various level of sardine and safflower oils were administered to the male rats of the Sprague Dawley for 4 weeks. Concentrations of total cholesterol in serum lipoproteins were highest in the LDL, followed by VLDL, HDL and chylomicron components. in the triglyceride concentrations, chylomicron were highest, and much VLDL, LDL, HDL components. There were highest in the HDL, followed by LDL, VLDL and chylomicron in phospholipid concentrations of serum lipoproteins. Concentrations of total cholesterol, triglyceride and phospholipid in serum lipoprotein were lower in the other groups than in the control groups, and particularly, lowest in the group 5(4% sardine oil+4% safflower oil). From this results, the feeding equal quantity mixed oil with n-3 PUFA rich sardine oil and n-6 PUFA rich safflower oil were effective on the improvement of the lipid composition in the serum lipoprotein. It might be due to the effects of appropriate rations of P/S, 0.85 and n-6/n-3P, 2.85 in the test lipids. In the fatty acid composition of serum lipoprotein, ratio of P/S and n-3/n-6P were influenced from the fatty acid compositions of the mixed test lipids. And EPA contents were higher in the chylomicron components.

  • The object of this experiment was to suggest the suitahle N-P-K fertilization level for orchardgrass(0G)-red clover(RC) mixtures under the intensive system of short-term pasture utilization. The fields trials were conducted over 3-year period(1991-1993) to evaluate dry matter yield. botanical composition, chemical composition and CP, DDM yield on the N-P-K levels (0-0-0. 50-100-100. 100-150-150, 150-2OO-200. 200-250-250 and 300-350- 350kg/ha).   • This study was designed to examine effects of the various levels of sardine and safflower oil mix on lipid contents of serveral tissues in dietary hyperlipidemic rats. Experimental oils were 16% butter(control group), 8% butter +8% olive oil(group 2) 8% butter+8% sardine oil(group 3) 8% butter+6% sardine oil+2% safflower oil(group 4), 8% butter+4% sardine oil+4% safflower oil(group 5),8% butter+2% sardine oil+6% safflower oil(group 6) and 8% butter+8% safflower oil(group 7). The diet administered to the male rats of Sprague-Dawley were fed for 4 weeks. In livers, total cholesterol and triglyceride, phospholipid concentrations were lowest in the group 5 and free cholesterol concentrations were lower in the groups 4 and 5, particularly. Total cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations in brain were significantly lower in the group 5 and phospholipids were lowest in the group 3, while free cholesterol were group 7. In testes, total cholesterol and triglyceride, phospholipid, free cholesterol concentrations were lower in the all experimental groups than the control group, but those of kidney were lower in the groups 3, 7 than in the control group. Feeding mixed oil having equal quantity of sardine oil and safflower oil were effective on the reduction of the lipid contents in the principal tissues. It might be due to the effects of appropriate ratios of P/S, 0.85 and n-6/n3-p, 2.85 in the test lipids.

Mineral Leaching from Air-Dried Forages (마른 목초(牧草) 잎으로 부터의 무기물(無機物) 용출(溶出))

  • In this study in order to know the behavior of mineral nutrients from forage plant to soil in a grassland ecosystem, the leaching of minerals (K, Mg, Ca, N and P) from air-dried (dead) plant body was investigated by putting orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) hay on meadow during a month with seasonal changes. The results obtained were as follows; 1) The K content of the forage, not stable during the experimental seasons, tended to decrease in the summer of 1986, while the Mg and Ca contents increased in the summer. The reason might be a different response (solubility or leaching liability) of the monovalent mineral (K) and divalent ones (Mg and Ca) in the forage to rainfall. 2) The percentage of P to the initial amount in the forage showed larger decrease in a rainy period (Feb.~Mar., 1986) and during the rainy summer (May to July). The P component of the forage might be easily leached with water. 3) The percentage of the four minerals (Ca, N, Mg, K) remained the least in the period of (Jun.~Jul., 1986), 4) Though the percentage of remained Mg and N of the forage varied very similarly, the percentage of remained N was higher than that of Mg during periods before summer (January to May), while after the period the ratio of the Mg seemed to be higher than that of the N (June to December), 5) During the periods until (May~Jun., 1986) the percentage of remained K and P of the forage varied in very similar pattern, and the order of remained mineral was as follows; $Ca>N{\geq}Mg>P=K$. But from the period of (Jun-Jul) the ratio of P remained in the forage increased nearly up to the ratio of N, and the order was as follows; $Ca>Mg{\geq}N{\geq}P>K$.

  • The effects of age and dietary fatty acid composition on prostagladin production was investigated in Sprague-Dawley strain male rats. Animals weighing 88.6$\pm$2.2g were fed 10% dietary fat(W/W, 20% of total energy). The P/S ratios of dietary lipid were three levels(0.5, 1, 2) and there were three different levels of n-6/n-3 fatty acid ratio(2, 4, 8) in each P/S ratio. The experimental period were 1 month and 12 months, respectively. The results of this study were as follows. As the age of rats increased, the plasma thromboxane B2 production increased, but aorta 6-keto prostaglandin F1$\alpha$ decreased. When a higher amount of n-3 fatty acid was fed in each P/S ratio, the relative percentage of linolenic acid and EPA in platelet increased.

Effects of Type of Oilseed and Level of Concentrate on Fermentation, Biohydrogenation of Fatty Acids and Conjugated Linoleic Acid Production in a Rumen-Simulated Continuous Culture System (지방급원 형태와 수준에 따른 연속배양장치 내 반추위 발효성상, 지방산의 수소첨가 현상 및 Conjugated Linoleic Acid 생산에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • This experiment employed a rumen simulated continuous culture system to examine the possibility of improving the rumen bypass of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) by using a high proportion of concentrate in the feed, and compared soya and linseed in terms of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) production. No effect of type of fat source was observed on ruminal fermentation. A high proportion of concentrate (80%) in the feed decreased (P<0.001) vessel pH but increased (P<0.01) ammonia nitrogen, total VFA, acetate, butyrate and valerate concentrations compared with a low proportion (40%). Fat sources (soya vs. linseed) and concentrate ratio in the feed did not affect digestibilities of organic matter (OM), total nitrogen, neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF). Soya increased the flows of trans C18:1, C18:2 n-6 and C18:3 n-3 compared with linseed. The difference in fat source alone did not affect the flow of CLA but this was increased when high levels of soya and linseed were associated with a high proportion of concentrate in the feed. There was no effect of fat source on biohydrogenation of C18:1 n-9 and C18:2 n-6, but biohydrogenation of C18:3 n-3 and total C18 PUFA was higher with the linseed than with the soya treatment. A high proportion of concentrate decreased biohydrogenation of C18:2 n-6, C18:3 n-3 and total C18 PUFA compared with a low proportion.

  • Effect of NO$_3$:NH$_4$ratio and pH of nutrient solution on nitrate content of leaves was investigated for leaf lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.) grown by a deep flow technique. Ratios(in me.L$^{-1}$ ) of NO$_3$:NH$_4$tested were 12:1, 10:3 and 8:5. The treatment of 8:5 NO$_3$:NH$_4$ratio had two solutions, one with uncontrolled pH and the other with automatically controlled pH. Solution pH continuously increased in 12:1 NO$_3$:NH$_4$treatment. Solution pH decreased gradually more as NH$_4$ratio increased. Treatment of 8:5 NO$_3$:NH$_4$with automatic pH control satisfactorily maintained the solution pH in the range of pH 5.5-6.0. Nitrate content in leaves was the greatest in treatment of 12:1 NO$_3$:NH$_4$ and the least in treatment of 8:5 NO$_3$:NH$_4$with automatic pH control. Fresh weight decreased in treatments of 10:3 and 8:5 NO$_3$:NH$_4$, whereas it increased in treatments of 12:1 and 8:5 NO$_3$:NH$_4$with pH control. It was concluded that the growth and leaf nitrate content were the greatest in high NH$_4$treatment with automatic pH control.

  • This pot experiment was conducted to find out the optimal fertilization ratio of the anions (N : S : P) in various soil conditions. Soil samples were collected from uncultivated mountains and hills where development for grasslands is under consideration. The optimum ratios were computed by the $Hom{\grave{e}}s$ systematic variation technique. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The optimum fertilization ratios of the anions (N : S : P) for the high yields of grass - clover mixed sward at various areas were obtained (Table 5). 2. The grass yields in mixed sward were increased by the increase of specific soil characteristics, CEC, OM, T-N, avail-$P_2O_5$. However. it was not recognizable by the contents of the cations, the base saturation, and the pH. 3. The relatively high yields of clover were positively related to the Ca and Mg contents in soils, and it was a factor of the increased total yields of mixed sward. 4. The relatively high optimum fertilization ratios of S in volcanic ash soil in the Cheju district and P in sediment lithosol in Daegu should be taken into account in determing the fertilization rate for high yield of clover in mixed sward.
