This paper analyzed the marketing success factors of the Chinese musical , which entered the world musical market for the first time in the history of Chinese musicals, and investigated the positive effects of the success of on the development of Chinese musicals. First, five important elements of musical marketing were determined as the analysis criteria and through this, we were able to derive that the marketing promotion was achieved by establishing a systematic strategy in the techniques of 'positioning', 'ticket promotion', 'PR strategy', 'producer', 'OSMU' as the success factors of the musical . The case of in Chinese musicals can be regarded as the first successful case by professional marketing. Due to the results of these achievements, the Chinese government and local musical support systems were established, and in recent years, Chinese musicals have been qualitative. It has been confirmed that Chinese musicals are growing rapidly in recent years in terms of quality and industry. It is expected that more academic studies related to Chinese musicals will be conducted through this study, and it is the purpose of this study to be used as a material that can contribute to the creation of Chinese musical with evenly high workability and productability in the future.

Objectives : This study aims to find out comparative results from Sasang Constitutional Medicine, Eight Constitution and Five Elements Constitution. Methods : Searching the records, papers, documents and analyzing. Results and Conclusions : Sasang Constitutional Medicine Theory is organized with Taeyang, Taeum, Soyang, Soum. Eight Constitution is classified mokyang, Mokum, Toyang, Toum, Keumyang, Keumum, Suyang, Suum. and Five Elements Constitution is explained to Yin Yang and Five Elements.

This study examines the stage costumes of the creative musical 'Hyecho', which was performed six times in the Chung Ang Art Center hosted by Chung-Ang University's performance & media agency from December 20 to 22 in 2006. The stage costumes were made based on these basic design elements of stage costumes that were dyed : line, silhouette, material, and color. First, the creative musical 'Hyecho' presents a new form of fusion theatre, which blends Korean traditional music and dance with videos. Thereby, the musical has opened a new phase in Korea's creative performing arts. Second, in musical performances that combines dance and songs, stage costumes should be made not only to attract the audience's eyes, but also not to interrupt actors' vocalizations and movements by taking their physical features into account. Also, costumes should be made in consideration of their relationships with visual elements, including stage settings and lighting. Third, the musical features fusion-style stage costumes, which combines Hanbok, the Korean traditional costume, and Indian traditional costumes with modern costumes. For the line and silhouette, costumes show the beauty of curves through the curves of Hanbok and India's traditional costumes and also through irregular pleats of pants. Also, by using cotton materials, which is easy to dye and not readily deformed, costumes feature colors that are found in nature through a gradation dyeing technique. In doing so, it offers visual amusement to the audience by making stage costumes look like a beautiful painting. Fourth, the stage costumes of the chorus feature costumes that use lining and pleated skirts using belts, and various accessories, including necklaces that use strings in order to express evil spirits. Since there is not much time to change costumes during a performance, using such items are helpful to show the unique characteristics of actors effectively during the limited time. Also, coordinating with the lighting director allows the costume designer to make better costumes for the chorus and make the performance more dramatic. Finally, it was not necessary to wash the costumes of the chorus of the fusion musical Hyecho 2006 since it was performed only six times. However, when using dyed costumes for the long-term performance, it might cause problems such as bleaching that result from the washing of costumes and low durability that can result in the deformation of costumes. As performing arts are made in various forms and are diversified, it is needed for stage costumes to change accordingly through new attempts and various ways of expression.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the musical activities and musical preference according to coping strategy of university students. The survey was conducted to 200 students and the data of 168 was analysed. The results of the research are as follows. First, the number of problem-solving coping was the highest, and the number of emotional-alleviate coping was the lowest. And coping strategy between male and female student showed a significant difference. Second, music listening was the most preferred activity. There was a significant difference in the most preferred activity between male and female students, also between active and inactive coping strategy. However, the most doing activity between music major students and non-music major students showed a significant difference. In addition, there was a significant differences in the purpose of playing instruments between male and female students and among academic year. Third, Korean-pop was the most preferred genre. Result showed a significant difference in preferred musical elements between male and female students. There were genre, melody, loudness, and theme of lyric. Meanwhile, preferred musical elements between active and inactive coping strategy showed a statistical differences. There were rhythm, timbre, and medium of listening. Finally, there were statistical differences in the preferred harmony and familiarity between music major students and non-music major students.

I attempted to study the resolution of how I can show the essence of an original musical production to audience, the possibilities of how recreate impossible elements according to Korean musical environment because of cultural and linguistic differences, and verify the meaning of adjusting an original production to Korean one through directorial approaches to licensed musical production. I mainly exemplified 2009 Korean production (Charlotte Theatre, March ~ August, 2009) that I directed. The purpose that I wanted to analyze the case of Korean production mainly is able to prove a wide variety of possible challenges rather than simply licensed ones because the former was recreated in 30 years after the first original production. Recreation and coaching to acting through fine and precise analysis of an original production, Koreanizing Western culture of the licensed musical, resolving the problem of linguistic nuances are the important ways to direct licensed musical. For licensed musical director, cooperation with original creative team and Korean production company must be the most important job.

This study is an analysis and review of the international research on interventions using music for the rehabilitation of patients with Parkinson's disease(PD). It categorizes 24 intervention studies conducted over the last 20 years based on the level of music usage and type of music utilized. The aim of this analysis was to identify which musical elements improved timing issues related to the initiation and cessation of movement in patients with PD. The studies involved six with music-based interventions and 18 with rhythm-based interventions, depending on the level of music usage. Rhythm, a common element in music, was a suitable factor for addressing the participants' issues. Furthermore, this review suggests that the characteristics of the researchers impact the extent to which musical elements are used and the diversity of those elements, which influences the intervention's effectiveness. Therefore, this study provides information on how to specify and systematically consider intervention efforts and the use of musical elements that can be applied in rehabilitation for patients with PD.

This essay researches which affective responses can be made from musical elements of Korean traditional music through adjective description about mood responses. It results that traditional mode which are classified into Pyoungjo and Gyemounjo hardly have any the affective responses, while major and minor mode, tempo, tone color, vertical and horizontal texture have some effects on particular affects. Meanwhile, newly composed Korean traditional music have more effects for as inducing affective responses rather than works as old Korean traditional music. As well as Western music, Korean traditional music induces different affective responses to each musical element. As such, this aspects can be adopted to different realms like background music, commercial music, music therapy and so on.

This study measured and analyzed musical sense objectively, and visualized it to express visual effects as if watching music with the eye. For the visualization of music, we examined the concept of synesthesia and the correlation between hearing and seeing, and reviewed theoretical grounds and a number of cases necessary in reproducing musical sense visually based on synesthetic expression. Furthermore, we studied the visual elements and associated colors of rhythm to prove that visual conception of music through various approaches enable a transitional approach to aesthetic exploration and interpretation. The conclusions drawn from this research are as follows. First, classic music selected for visualization had musical characteristics highly correlated with dress design. Second, basic formative elements suggested as materials of visualization in this study were suitable in their form for expressing the rhythmic sense of music and, because they started from the most basic form, they were effective in extracting design elements. Third, when the result of the questionnaire survey, which was focused on the visualization of the rhythmic sense of the five pieces of classic music, was analyzed from the aspect of sensibility ergonomics, design elements of each piece of music were obtained in an objective and scientific way. Fourth, it was confirmed that common concepts could be derived from intangible elements such as forms and sounds observed in the rhythmic sense of music obtained from the result of the questionnaire survey. Fifth, works were made based on the results of this study and, according to the result, musical images can express sense through dress design and obtain visual effects as if watching music with the eye. Dress desist through the visualization of music in this study was an attempt to suggest that the language of music can be expressed in dress design, a visual formative language, based on synesthetic expression. Through this attempt, we confirmed the infinity of music as motives of dress design and suggested a method of aesthetic expression demanded in contemporary society that is pursuing aesthetic values.

In essence, Musical theatre is a multimedia show, so when you listen to musical numbers, you will experience it through multiple senses. Therefore, in order to analyze musical numbers, emphasis should be placed on its interaction with various media such as lyrics, dance, and theatre, which have a direct association with the music. Through the Conceptual Blending Theory, which can comprehensively consider the combination of text and music, the combination of movement and music, and the combination of visual elements and music, this study analyzes the music of Musical . By exploring the result of interaction between lyrics and music, the interaction between choreography and music, and the interaction between stage and music, the artistry and intrinsic value of the work can be proved. In addition, we can discover the process and system of integrated interpretation through music analysis applying Conceptual Blending Theory. Therefore, Conceptual Blending Theory has sufficient utility as a methodology for music analysis of musical theatre.

This paper aims to identify the characteristics implied in the process of change of Stephen Sondheim's musical style and to derive the structural communication tools that connect the creator and audience and the implications. The strategies that appear in Sondheim's musical works are the following. First, Sondheim's early musical works follow the principles of book musical and emphasize the integration faithful to the basic elements such as the rhythm and meaning of the lyrics. Second, in the era of early postmodernism, Sondheim attempts the principle of extreme deconstruction through the concept musical Company and pursues rational thought through fragmented dramatic flow. Third, while maintaining dramatic linearity to overcome the lack of immersion caused by extreme deconstruction, Sondheim realizes a more elaborate and formalized fusion style of the principles of integration and deconstruction through the choruses and the songs of the characters in Little Night Music and Sweeney Todd. Finally, Sondheim attempts multiple experiments to break down the boundaries of act and scene and to express new subject matters through his works such as Sunday Park with George and Into the Woods. In conclusion, Sondheim's fusion experiments and strategies are the process of finding a framework and a medium of communication to induce dramatic immersion of audience and at the same time create rational thinking about social problems to deliver the message of the creative work with the leading aesthetics of the modern musical's box-office success.
