The objective of this study was to search the effect of individual personality (big five personality) on creative behavior. In particular, we tried to find out how the individual characteristics of the students who are perceived as unique majors in university and students who are in non-art, music and physical education affect the creative behavior. To perform this, questionnaires were distributed to 150 university students in art, music and physical education and 150 non-art, music, and physical education university students in C University located in Gwangju Metropolitan City. 275 copies (91.7%) of valid questionnaires were used among them. As a result, extroversion, openness, Friendliness, and sincerity were found to affect creative behaviors, excluding neuroticism (emotional stability) among five factors of personality. Additional analysis was performed by departmentalizing the majors of respondents as art, music and physical education and non-art, music, and physical education. In the case of art, music and physical education, extroversion, openness, friendliness affected the creative behavior, and in the case of non-art, music and physical education, only extroversion and openness influenced creative behavior. This difference can be understood as the difference of habits according to major, and it has been proved that it is also similar to previous research results.

Recently, interdisciplinary relation is emphasized on and various models are proposed. Since group theory is one of the important areas of modern mathematics, all the mathematics teachers for secondary school are familiar with it. Group theory, the theory of symmetries, are effectively applied to music or arts. In this paper, we understand the approximation model for gwaeyul of geomungo group theoretically to show the relation between mathematics and music(Korean music, in particular). This paper, in fact, proposes a group theoretic approximation model for gwaeyul of geomungo. The materials like this will be of help to teachers who try to integrate mathematics to other areas.

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate the music program based on social-emotional learning (SEL) to facilitate social inclusion between children with and without disabilities studying together in inclusive classes. For program development, the literature on social inclusion programs and SEL programs were analyzed. Program components were extracted from the literature review and based on the review activities were also selected. The participants were fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students, including children with intellectual disabilities, and the program was implemented over 12 sessions during the students' creative experiential activity class. The validity of the program was evaluated by teachers and the specified program contents were modified and finalized reflecting the professionals' recommendations. This study supports that SEL-based music program can be effectively applied to inclusive education. The developed music program is also expected to improve the social and emotional capacity of children in inclusive classrooms and to increase the social inclusion between children with and without disabilities.

Concept mapping was used to analyze the knowledge of kindergarten teachers about early childhood music instructional content. Data obtained from the 85 subjects was analyzed by Yun's method(1998) based on Novak & Gowin(1984), Morine-Dershimer(1993), and Markhan, Mintzes & Jones(1994). The majority of the teachers perceived the superordinate concepts of early childhood music instructional content to be listening to music, singing, movement, and playing musical instruments. They perceived early childhood music instructional content to be activity rather then knowledge. Listening to music was high in frequency among superordinate concepts and musical attitudes were high among subordinate concepts. Teachers used 285 words in expressing their cognitive maps. There was no effect on cognitive maps by teaching career or level of education.

This study investigated how music therapists perceive the professionalism of the profession. A total of 98 certified music therapists completed the online survey for a 46.7% response rate, and 78 questionnaires were included in the analysis after excluding incomplete responses. The results of this study demonstrated that music therapists show a high level of standards for music therapy professionalism in general. Meanwhile, the respondents gave their lowest rating on the perception of their occupation as a social service addressing the needs of society. The majority of respondents rated the level of their professionalism as high and they tended to identify individual competency as the most important factor. Also, there were significant differences in perceived professionalism depending on the length of clinical practice and level of education. These results indicate that the quality of training may contribute to a high level of perception on professionalism. Also, lower levels of perception on social aspects of the professionalism support the need for continuing education to broaden the understanding of professionalism. Given the importance of professionalism in enhancing the quality of care for clients and expanding the profession, further studies were suggested to increase understanding of the music therapy professionalism and propose strategies for maintaining the professionalism of music therapists.

Nowadays, the trend of early childhood education has focused on finding educational activities to enhance quality of learning with integrative, learner-centered experience by combining each subject and domain. Pre-service early childhood teacher's music drama activity is a sort of integrated education including literature, instrumental music, play, art and movement that are included in the culture and art for preschoolers to help them understand role and value of the art and directly influence personality and creativity and motive to arouse interest in various learning directly. It's expected to see that development of creative teaching plan for the music drama using piano ensemble could support basic research in integrated educational activity in the teacher training course and also, activate the music drama activity. Research findings and suggestion are as follows. First, the music drama activities are systematically and step-by-step implemented according to the audience according to the cooperative learning and creative plans of pre-service early childhood teachers. Second, if understanding characteristics of casts in the music drama and assigning their roles efficiently, it enhances approach of pre-service early childhood teacher music drama activity and activate it. Third, making music in music drama activities can be composed and arranged to suit the musical literacy and level of pre-service early childhood teacher. Fourth, pre-service early childhood teachers could have integrated experience and evaluation efficiently in the short term to use as reference for the teaching plan and data for the music drama.

Korean traditional music has been a process art which has been changed and re-created by musicians to mirror the musical aesthetics of contemporary people. Form court music, which has tried to keep the "authentic" form as much as possible, to folk music, which is closely associated to the people's life style, traditional music has expressed the life of the Korean people. From the early 20th century, traditional music faced a totally new music culture due to the Japanese annexation and rapid westernization. A new music network was established by modern theater and broadcast system. Many gayageum (12-stringed zither) masters were able to develop their own music in this new music culture. Female musicians came to exist because of a new music education system, called gwonbeon (school for female entertainers). Due to the rapid westernization, traditional music was becoming 'extinct'. The government's new system of Intangible Cultural Heritage tried to preserve traditional culture. Traditional music came to revive but became fossilized in order to preserve the 'archetype'. The so-called Living Human Treasures took power and became a social problem. The modern school education system was one of major factors for promotion of traditional music. However, it became one of main reasons for musicians to lose their musical creativity. Today, many performers and composers try to make a new composition and renovated musical instruments to suit the contemporary musical aesthetics.

The purpose of the present study was to investigated the effects of music lesson and musical and rhythmic activities on young Children's musical abilities and musical conservation concepts. Two kinds of tests aiming to measure musical abilities and musical conservation concept were administered to 117 children aged 5- to 7-year-old. The amount of music lesson at home was investigated. and musical and rhythmic activities at two preschools were observed and them evaluated in terms of their quality . The major findings were as follows ; 1)The individual music lessons at home played a significant role in developing young children's musical abilities and musical conservation concepts. 2) Young children's musical abilities and musical conservation concepts were significantly affected by the quality of musical and rhythmic activities. Especially, the quality of musical and rhythmic activities had significant effects on listening, rhythmic activities, and musical creativity among musical abilities. As to musical conservation concepts. only tempo conservation concept was affected by the quality of musical and rhythmic activities. The balanced activities in the five domains of music education were discussed. some suggestions of improving the quality of music education were provided.

Digital braille music is an indispensible instrument for the blind persons to enjoy music and to proceed the more professional music education. Producing braille music requires professionals such as braille translators thereby it costs money for an individual to order braille music. Therefore, public libraries involve in producing and distributing braille music. Current status of digital braille music in Korea has been far from the fulfillment with the unmet needs of the blind people for diversity in their music preferences. This paper analyses the present condition of braille music possession in Korea National Library. Based on the analysis, policy proposals has been proposed.
