For multi-cell environments, coordinated random beamforming technique in multiuser MIMO(multiple-input multiple-output) broadcast channel is considered. In order to mitigate severe interference at receivers, the multi-cell environments might require complex transmitter and receiver design because the scheduler decision based on full channel state information (CSI) in one cell must be intertwined with decision made by other cells' CSI. With limited CSI, however, this paper considers a scheme of randomizing transmitters' beamforming but being coordinated with other cell transmitters. The transmitters in each cell share random beamforming patterns and schedule data transmission within coherent scheduling period. The corandomized beams allow the users to be selected with the highest SINRs even in multi-cell environments. We analyze the performance of the proposed scheme. And numerical results show that the scheme achieves better performance than the conventional random beamforming when applying to multi-cell environments.
We demonstrate binary spectral phase coded waveform discrimination at 10 GHz for narrow band optical code-division multiple-access (NB-OCDMA) via direct electrical detection without using any optical hard-limiter. Only 9 phase-locked, 10 GHz spaced, spectral lines within a 100 GHz spectral window are used for the phase coding. Considerably high contrast ratio of 5 between signal and multiuser access interference noise can be achieved for $4{\times}10\;G\;pulse/sec$ timing coordinated OCDMA at a simple electrical receiver with 50 GHz bandwidth.

In this paper, we propose a suboptimal receiver combining adaptive array antenna and orthogonal decision-feedback detector in DS/CDMA system. Adaptive way antenna can cancel out undesired signal using beamforming scheme. However, if there are interfering signals from undesired users with the same incident angle as that of a desired user, an adaptive array antenna cannot suppress them. The proposed receiver can cancel out remaining interference from users having nearly the same beam pattern. And we employ Orthogonal Decision-Feedback Detector (ODFD) as Multiuser detection. The ODFD performs as good as the decorrelating decision -feedback detector (DDFD) with much less complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed system provides a significantly enhanced performance.
In this paper, the DS(direct sequence)-CDMA and MC(multi-carrier)-CDMA, which are being researched recently as a synchronous IMT-2000 scheme for next-generation mobile multimedia communications, are studied in terms of BER(bit error rate) performance. The BER performance of MC-CDMA with EGB, MRC, and improved MMSEC detection scheme are analyzed and compared to that of conventional DS-CDMA adopting RAKE receiver through the computer simulations under the environments of synchronous IMT-2000 transmission channel. Not only single user case but also multiuser case is considered in the given system. As a result, it is shown that MC-CDMA with MMSEC detection outperforms all other schemes improved the $E_b/N_o$ by about 5 [dB] and 6 [dB] when the BER is $2{\times}10^{-3}$, for the indoor/outdoor fading channel and synchronous IMT-2000 transmission channel, respectively. Also in the multiuser case, MC-CDMA with MMSEC detection scheme exhibits better performance than all the other schemes.
In this paper, using received channel information, we analyze performance in MIMO multiuser system in low-to-medium mobile speed by selecting each user's constellations, powers, and transmit antennas. Given a target of symbol error, we determine each user's constellations, powers, selected tranprobability smit antennas such that the required signal-to-noise(SNR) is minimized for MMSE, V-BLAST receiver according to each user's information and channel estimation information. When we do power control with antenna selection technique through uplink channels of MIMO system in low-to-medium mobile speed, we analyze system performance with wireless channel information from Base-Station(BS) to Users. By simulation, it has been shown that the proposed antenna selection scheme for transmitting data offer better performance improvement than all transmit antennas for transmitting data.

In this paper, we propose and analyze a multiuser receiver using a decorrelating filter and Viterbi decoders for trellis coded DS/CDMA systems with biorthgonal signal constellation in asynchronous channels. The biorthogonality is implemented by user signature waveforms and the decorrelating filter. The performance of the proposed system is investigated with emphasis on the asymptotic cases. It is shown that the proposed system can provide us with some coding gain and near-far resistance. We also analyze the performance of the proposed system with base-station antenna array.

For the efficient transmission of burst data in the time varying wireless channel, opportunistic scheduling is one of the important techniques to maximize multiuser diversity gain. In this paper, we propose a distributed opportunistic scheduling scheme for wireless LAN network. A proportional fair scheduling, which is one of the opportunistic scheduling schemes, is used for centralized networks, whereas we design distributed proportional fair scheduling (DPFS) scheme and medium access control with distributed manner. In the proposed DPFS scheme, each receiver estimates channel condition and calculates independently its own priority with probabilistic manner, which can reduce excessive probing overhead required to gather the channel conditions of all receivers. We evaluate the proposed DPFS using extensive simulation and simulation results show that DPFS obtains higher network throughput than conventional scheduling schemes and has a flexibility to control the fairness and throughput by controlling the system parameter.

In The objective of this paper is to apply blind minimum output energy multiuser detection method to multicarrier direct sequence code division multiple access system. The performance of MC/DS-CDMA is reduced due to multiple access. To increase the performance of system, we need to cancel multiple user components. Blind interference canceller is able to detect the desired's information with the only minimal information of the desired user. We evaluate the performance of the proposed receiver under Gaussian channel. Simulation results show that the proposed receiver has about 6[dB] gain of signal to noise ratio without multiple user interference and has about 3[dB] gain of SNR with multiple user interference. Also, the result of comparing the capacity of the active users shows that the proposed method has about 2 times capacity more than conventional method. As a conclusion, simulation results show that the proposed method has better performs better than conventional method.

Cognitive radio-simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (CR-SWIPT) has attracted much interest since it can improve both the spectrum and energy efficiency of wireless networks. This paper focuses on the resource sharing between a point-to-point primary system (PRS) and a multiuser multi-antenna cellular cognitive radio system (CRS) containing a large number of cognitive users (CUs). The resource sharing optimization problem is formulated by jointly scheduling CUs and adjusting the transmit power at the cognitive base station (CBS). The effect of accessing CUs' spatial channel correlation on the possible transmit power of the CBS is investigated. Accordingly, we provide a low-complexity suboptimal approach termed the semi-correlated semi-orthogonal user selection (SC-SOUS) algorithm to enhance the spectrum efficiency. In the proposed algorithm, CUs that are highly correlated to the information decoding primary receiver (IPR) and mutually near orthogonal are selected for simultaneous transmission to reduce the interference to the IPR and increase the sum rate of the CRS. We further develop a spatial correlation-based resource sharing (SC-RS) strategy to improve energy sharing performance. CUs nearly orthogonal to the energy harvesting primary receiver (EPR) are chosen as candidates for user selection. Therefore, the EPR can harvest more energy from the CBS so that the energy utilization of the network can improve. Besides, zero-forcing precoding and power control are adopted to eliminate interference within the CRS and meet the transmit power constraints. Simulation results and analysis show that, compared with the existing CU selection methods, the proposed low-complex strategy can enhance both the achievable sum rate of the CRS and the energy sharing capability of the network.

Two-dimensional(2-D) fiber-optic code-division multiple-access(FO-CDMA) system utilizes the optical orthogonal signature pattern code(OOSPC) to encode and decode 2-D data. Encoded 2-D data are spatially multiplexed and transmitted through an image fiber and receiver recovers the intended data by means of thresholding process. OOSPC's construction methods based on expansion of the optical orthogonal code, which is used in one-dimensional(1-D) FO-CDMA system, are introduced. Each OOSPC's performances are compared by using the bit error rate(BER) of interfering OOSPC's of other users. From the results we verify that a balanced incomplete block design(BIBD) construction has the best performance among other mehtods. We also propose a decomposed bit-plane method for parallel transmission and recovery of 256 gray-scale images using OOSPC's constructed by the BIBD method. The simulation result encourages the feasibility of parallel transmission and recovery of multiuser's images.
