This study investigates the mediation effects of affection-rejection parenting in the relationships between reports by mothers in regards to marital conflicts and the behavior and emotional control of preschoolers. The participants were 311 preschoolers and their mothers. A total of 311 preschoolers attended kindergartens or day care centers in Daegu or Gyeongbuk Province. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation, single and hierarchical multiple regressions, using SPSS Win 15.0. The results are as follows. (1) Mothers' marital conflicts exerted indirect effects on preschoolers' behavioral control mediated by affection parenting. (2) Mothers' marital conflicts exerted indirect effects on preschoolers' behavioral control mediated by rejection parenting. (3) Mothers' marital conflicts partly exerted indirect effects on preschoolers' emotional control mediated by affection parenting. (4) Mothers' marital conflicts partly exerted indirect effects on preschoolers' emotional control mediated by rejection parenting.
Fur apparel is a representative luxury item that displays wealth and social status; however, it is also recognized as an unethical product criticized for its animal maltreatment in the production process. Understanding consumer responses to an ambivalent object, such as fur apparel, is an important research topic both academically and practically. This study investigates the hierarchical effects of perceived benefits and risks of fur apparel on consumers' emotions and purchase intention by applying the ABC model of attitudes to identify the mediating effects of consumer emotions. An online survey was conducted on 390 female consumers that verified hypotheses through structural equation modeling and bootstrapping analysis using phantom variables. The initial results of the survey showed that the relationship between perceived conspicuous benefits and purchase intention towards fur apparel was partially mediated by positive emotion. Second, the relationship between perceived epistemic benefits and purchase intention was completely mediated by positive emotion. Third, the relationship between perceived ethical risk and purchase intention was completely mediated by positive and negative emotions. Fourth, perceived social risk did not affect the purchase intention of fur apparel significantly. The results support that cognitive beliefs about the subject have a significant positive effect on behavioral intentions through emotions as suggested in the ABC model of the attitude. This study provides an in-depth understanding of consumer responses to ambivalent objects by revealing the individual mediating effects of consumers' positive and negative emotions.
Background: To investigate the effects of ASMase mediated endothelial cell apoptosis in multiple hypofractionated irradiations in CT26 tumor bearing mice. Materials and Methods: Thirty-five CT26 tumor bearing mice were subjected to single ionizing radiation (IR) of 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 Gy. Eight hours after IR, the mice were sacrificed and tumor tissues were used for CD31 immunohistochemistry staining, TUNEL and CD31 double staining, ASMase activity assay. Then 6 and 12 Gy were chosen for multiple hypofractionated IR experiments according to the above results. Each time after IR, 5 mice were sacrificed and assayed as above. Results: The ASMase activities were increased significantly after a single IR of 12 Gy or higher which was accompanied with remarkable increased endothelial cell apoptosis and decreased MVD. For 6 Gy which was not high enough to trigger ASMase activation, after 2 or more times of IR, the ASMase activities were significantly increased accompanied with remarkable increased endothelial cell apoptosis and decreased MVD. While for 12 Gy, after 2 or more times of IR, the ASMase activities and endothelial cell apoptosis rates were maintained without remarkable increase; however, the MVD was significantly decreased. What's more, the cancer cell apoptosis rates were significantly increased after multiple IR for both 6 Gy and 12 Gy. Conclusions: ASMase mediated endothelial cell apoptosis may play an important role in the process of multiple hypofractionated IR for CT26 colorectal carcinoma.
This study explored mediating effects of the maternal emotional expressiveness between maternal behavioral inhibition/behavioral activation system and children's emotional intelligence. subjects were 138 4- to 5-year-old preschoolers (92 boys, 46 girls) and their mothers. The maternal behavioral inhibition/behavioral activation system was measured by BIS/BAS(Behavioral Inhibition System/Behavioral Activation System, Carver & White, 1994), maternal emotional expressiveness was measured by the Self-Expressiveness in the Family Questionnaire (Halberstadt, 1995), and children's emotional intelligence was measured by the Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (Lee, 1998). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Results were that maternal positive expressiveness mediated the effects of maternal BIS on children's self-understanding and maternal negative expressiveness mediated the effects of maternal BAS on children's self-regulation.

The purpose of this study was to test the mediated effects of emotional regulation in the relations between maternal parenting and children's adaptation to school life of elementary school students. Three-hundred Seven elementary school students completed the maternal parenting scale, the emotional regulation scale, and the adaptation to school life scale. In order to find to identify how maternal parenting, emotional regulation were related with their adaptation to school life, Pearson correlation coefficients were used in the computation. To examine the effects of maternal parenting, emotional regulation on adaptation to school life, multiple regression analyses were conducted. To examine whether emotional regulation as a mediating variable in the process that maternal parenting is influencing children's adaptation to school life, hierarchical regression analyses were performed. The results of this study were summarized as follows. First, the analysis of the relationship of maternal parenting, emotional regulation with adaptation to school life shows that there is a significant positive correlation between maternal parenting, emotional regulation and adaptation to school life. Second, in the multiple regression analysis with maternal parenting and emotional regulation as a predictor and adaptation to school life as an outcome variable it has been shown that the emotional regulation were significant in adaptation to school life, but maternal parenting were not significant in adaptation to school life. The higher the emotional regulation is the better can children adapt themselves to school life. Third, the analysis on the mediating effects of emotional regulation in the relationship of maternal parenting and adaptation to school life showed that emotional regulation full mediates the relationship of maternal parenting with adaptation to school life.
The purpose of this study was to examine the physical environmental factors in coffee shops which determine customer brand loyalty, and to investigate the mediated effects of customer satisfaction and emotional responses on the causal relationship between the physical environmental factors and brand loyalty. A sample of 400 coffee shop customers was collected from Seoul and Gyeonggi in March, 2011 through a self-administered questionnaire. 351 of 400 subjects were used for validity and reliability analysis. 12 outliers were removed from the analysis, and 339 subjects were used to derive the results. Multiple linear regression and stepwise regression were conducted after the construct validity and reliability. The results can be summarized as follows: (1) Physical environmental factors in coffee shops consists of 5 dimensions such as facility aesthetics, cleanliness, ambiance, layout, and internet environment. (2) Facility aesthetics, ambiance, and internet environment had an influence on brand loyalty. (3) The effects of cleanliness and layout on brand loyalty, were not significant on multivariate analysis. However, the relationship between cleanliness and brand loyalty was mediated by emotional responses and also the relationship between layout and brand loyalty was mediated by customer satisfaction. (4) The mediating effects of customer satisfaction were higher than those of emotional responses.
This study aimed to identify the multiple mediation effects of job satisfaction and job commitment on the relationships between job stress and workers' safety behavior in terms of compliance and participation, in which the multiple mediation effects are a hybrid of parallel and serial mediating relationships. The multiple mediation model was analyzed using the bootstrapping method through the PROCESS macro tool in SPSS. The results showed that job stress negatively affects job satisfaction, job commitment, and workers' safety behavior, and the relationship between job stress and safety behavior is mediated by both job satisfaction and job commitment. The serial mediation effects of job satisfaction and job commitment were also found to be statistically significant in the regression relationship between job stress and safety behavior. Further analysis of the compliance and participation subdimensions of safety behavior showed similar results. Specifically, the serial mediation effects of job satisfaction and job commitment on participation and compliance behavior were further supported; however, the mediation effect of job satisfaction was not significant, whereas that of job commitment did remain significant. Further research is needed to determine if the mediation effect of job satisfaction found in this study can be extended and generalized to workers in various fields and industries.
Purpose: This study was conducted in order to examine the multiple mediated effects of self-regulation and hopelessness between self efficacy and internet game addiction in middle school students. Methods: The participants were 458 middle school students in G City, South Korea. Multiple mediation was analyzed using Indirect SPSS macro and the bootstrapping method. Results: Significant negative correlations were observed for internet game addiction, self-efficacy, and self-regulation. Self-efficacy and self-regulation were positively correlated. Self-efficacy showed a direct effect on Internet game addiction. The results of the indirect effects of all mediators showed the mediated effect of self-regulation (estimated effect=-.11, 95% CI[-.20, -.03]) and hopelessness(estimated effect=-.06, 95% CI[-.12, -.01]). Conclusion: Based on these study results, we suggest that self-efficacy should be examined to prevent development of Internet game addiction in middle school students. It is necessary to provide Internet game addiction preventive programs focusing on changing the self-regulation and relieving the feelings of hopelessness.
As a study on the mechanisms by which creativity is improved in an organization, this study tried to verify the serial multiple mediating effects of relational energy and creative process engagement in the effect of leader-member exchange(LMX) on creativity. To test the hypothesis, a survey was conducted on 200 workers in China, and 154 of them were analyzed. The analysis used model 6 of the PROCESS macro. As a result, first, LMX has positive effects on creativity. Second, relational energy mediated the relationship between LMX and creativity. Third, creative process engagement mediated the relationship between LMX and creativity. Forth, relational energy and creative process engagement continuously mediated the relationship between LMX and creativity. Based on these research results, the implications and limitations of this study were presented, and methods to improve creativity in the organization were discussed.
This study tried to examine the effect of multicultural adolescents' bicultural acceptance attitude on their life satisfaction and the serial multiple mediating effect of social competence and self-esteem in the relationship between them. To this purpose, we analyzed adolescents data from the first year(2019) of the 'Multicultural Adolescent Panel Study'(2nd group). As a result of the study, first, bicultural acceptance attitude had a significant positive effect on life satisfaction.
