High-speed telecommunication has brought variety of changes in every field of the world at large. In the field of education, use of multimedia has been positively introduced as teaching and learning tools. In addition, introduction of remote education as well as information and communication technology (ICT) has led an educational system gone into melting pot. These changes have known to be impossible without the provision of the infrastructure of telecommunications such as cabling, cable pathway, telecommunication equipments, and space for the equipments. Although the infrastructure of telecommunications should be fully considered from the early stage of the building design, most of the existing buildings have only cabling for voice communication such as telephone. As a result, heavy expenses are required for the installation of new telecommunication equipments. Such problems as defilement of the appearance of the building and a falling-off in reliability of telecommunication line are caused by the exposed cabling, when the cabling pathway and/or the space for the equipments are not reserved. Considering over 70% of error in telecommunication is coming from the cabling in building, it is necessary to reserve the space for efficient maintenance of the cabling and the equipments. In recent years, the national standard(TTAS.KO-04.0005) on the reservation of space for telecommunication cabling and equipments in residential and commercial building is established and applied for the building design. As well, the standard is in force for the educational buildings. In this study, we try to provide the guidelines for the design of telecommunications infrastructure in educational buildings for the purpose of efficient operation of education information and ICT.
The issue of connection between entities has a lengthy history in educational research, especially since it provides the necessary bridge between base and target in analogical transfer. Recently, the connection has been viewed through the application of technology to bridge between sequences in order to be cognitively useful. This study reports the effect of sequence type (AT vs. TA) and connection type (fading vs. popping) on the achievement and analogical transfer in a multimedia application. In the current research, 10th -grade and 11th -grade biology students in Korea were randomly assigned to five groups to test the effects of presentation sequence and entity connection type on analogical transfer. Consistent with previous studies, sequence type has a significant effect: analogical transfer performance was better when base representations were presented first followed by target representations rather than the reverse order. This is probably because presenting a familiar base first helps in understanding a less familiar target. However, no fully significant differences were found with the entity connection types (fading vs. popping) in analogical transfer. According to the Markman and Gentner's (2005) spatial model, analogy in a space is influenced only by the differences between concepts, not by distance in space. Thus connection types fail on the basis of this spatial model in analogical transfer test. The findings and their implications for sequence and connection research and practice are discussed. Leveraging on the analogical learning process, specific implications for scaffolding learning processes and the development of adaptive expertise are drawn.
This research treated the secondary school teachers as the research scale and the research targets included the following: secondary school (employ unit), center of teacher education, and qualified teachers. In terms of these three groups of people, the topics of exploration focused on the perception of suitable teachers, perception of evaluation standard during the process of teacher examination and the relationship among teacher examination systems. The research was managed by two phases: the first phase referred to literature reorganization, expert interview, the qualities and conditions of suitable teachers, important evaluation standard during the process of teacher examination and teacher examination system used; the second phase included questionnaire survey, employ school acquisition, the perception of centers of teacher education and qualified teachers toward the suitability condition and examination evaluation standard in the first phase and teacher examination system used. This research found out that as to the perception of suitable teachers, through data collection, there were six factors reorganized. The levels of their importance were as follows: education devotion, teaching capacity, class management, capacity to guide special students, capacity to communicate with the parents and the will to undertake administrative works. Noticeably, employee unit and centers of teacher education apparently valued class management more, compared with trained teachers; as to evaluation standard of examination, the analytical result found out that the perception of three groups were different in terms of the views toward educational works, written examination data, candidate's age, club experience at school and capacity to use multimedia support teaching materials. This research further proposed six suggestions for centers of teacher education and trained teachers: (l) employ schools considerably valued educational devotion; (2) trained teachers tended to neglect the importance of class management; (3) employee unit considerably cared about the new teachers' competence to use multimedia support teaching materials; however, trained teachers did not have the same view; (4) employee unit considerably cared about new teachers' views toward educational works as well as the candidates' ages; (5) generally speaking, trained teachers neglected the importance of club experience at school; (6) the data revealed that written examination data was not relatively important in terms of teacher examination.

Elementary school students have a great deal of interest in Internet games which provide integrated multimedia and so they become to know well the terminology used in network such as game server, Internet service, transfer time, etc. In addition, they are used to understand the technological phenomena occurring in internet. They, however, have difficulty understanding concepts and principles regarding the phenomena mentioned above because the educational contents in elementary school computer textbooks consist of only ICT education and its applications, i.e., tool-based technology. In this paper, we apply educational learning on network concepts which are the basis on the internet to classroom instruction by using problem oriented models. We conclude that the educational contents in elementary school computer education should be transferred to the area with principles and concepts.

In this paper, we propose the roles of social robots in educational environments. This proposal becomes an extension of R-learning. The purpose of social robots is the communication and interaction with human. Social robots have two roles. One is similar to the role of educational service robot and the other is communication role with people in education environments. We make an scenario to explain how to operate the roles of social robots using robot jibo SDK. The scenario was designed for mild interaction with the user in the educational environment. And it was made using jibo animation part to control the external reaction of jibo and behaviors part to control the internal reaction in jibo SDK. Social robots collect data effectively, based on grafting technologies and interaction with people in educational environments. Concludingly, various data collected by social robots contribute to solving problems, developing and establishing of educational environments.

The advancement of wireless technology improves the electronic learning by combining with the mobile function, and promotes the expanded transition to the mobile learning. Basically, the mobile learning provides the usefulness in terms of tile and space to provide learners with the access to the educational contents. However, the small display device and limited memory space of mobile device is limiting the access to the learning contents simply to the text-based transmission. This paper designed and implemented the multimedia mobile learning system that reduces the size of parser by define into MSMIL composed only of needed tag to multimedia contents production in the mobile devices by using the SMIL that supports the multimedia object synchronization reduces the data of multimedia learning data and enhances the transmission efficiency by applying the macro method in creating the contents of learning. The results of implementation indicates that it simplifies the designing language, makes the language learning easy, and saves the CPU resources for the parsing by reducing the size of parser.
With the development of media technology, virtual reality (VR) technology is widely used in education, medical care, aerospace, entertainment and other fields. Among them, application in teaching courseware is a relatively new topic. Compared with traditional coursewares, virtual games visualized and extruded abstract teaching contents. Thus it strengthened teaching effects and expanded dimensions of learning. We hypothesized that virtual coursewares could increase users'sense of presence and enhance their focus. In this study, virtual courseswares were compared with traditional coursewares. At the same time, its feasibility and advantages of application were analyzed through literature researching, practical researching and statistical analysis from questionnaires. Furthermore, we designed a teaching system for VR coursewares and explored its performance in multidimensional and contextual teaching situations. It was found that Virtual coursewares have changed the boring traditional teaching methods. The teaching content was displayed in the form of three-dimensional images, videos and sounds through VR equipment, which effectively improved teaching efficiency. In addition, the feasibility of virtual courseware was demonstrated through factor analysis in questionnaires. Compared with traditional teaching courseware, VR coursewares can attract students' attention and improve learning efficiency. It provides a good example and is valuable for the research of virtual realities in education.
Recently, according to the appearance of various virtual websites using multimedia technologies, the internet applications in engineering education have drawn muchinterests. But unidirectional communication, simple text/image-based webpages and tedious learning process without motivation, etc. have made the lowering of educational efficiency in cyberspace. This paper presents a virtual laboratory system which can be creating efficiencies in the learning process. The proposed virtual laboratory system for digital logic circuits provides interactive learning environment under which the multimedia capabilities of world-wide web can be enhanced. The virtual laboratory system is implemented to describe the on-campus laboratory, the learners can obtain similar experimental data through it. The virtual laboratory system is composed of four important components : principle classroom, simulation classroom, virtual experiment classroom and management system. Learning efficiencies as well as faculty productivity are increased in this innovative teaching and learning environment.

Thus, to cope with these difficulties this paper presents a web-based educational Java applets for understanding the principles or conceptions of digital logic systems. The proposed Java applets provides the improved learning methods which can enhance the interests of learners. The results of this paper can be widely used to improve the efficiency of cyberlectures in the cyber university. Several sample Java applets are illustrated to show the validity of the proposed learning method.

The article deals with the role of extra-curricular work by means of multimedia technologies in order to improve the quality of training of future specialists. An important condition for achieving high results in training specialists is the optimal combination of classroom and independent extra-curricular work of students by means of multimedia technologies. Very significant is the development of student independence, the formation of skills of independent search activity, the ability to take responsibility, independently solve a problem, find constructive solutions, a way out of a crisis situation, and so on. Extra-curricular work forms students' ability to master the techniques of analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison; develops flexibility of thinking; opens up opportunities for the development and stabilization of positive learning motives to activate the process of mastering knowledge by means of multimedia technologies as a means of forming the personality of a highly qualified specialist. The concept of multimedia as one of the priority areas of Information Technology, which plays a particularly important role in the process of informatization of education, is revealed, and its advantages in education are shown. The advent of multimedia systems optimizes transformations in education, in many areas of professional activity, science, art, etc. The necessity of distance learning to improve the quality of training of future specialists using multimedia technologies in extra-curricular work is justified. The effectiveness of pedagogical support in the process of distance learning is achieved by the following conditions, which is revealed in the article. Various forms and types of extra-curricular work of students that are used in the modern practice of the educational environment of a higher education institution are described. Scientific and informational activity is considered a key area of information activity. The analysis of scientific and information activities in the field of education allows us to identify its main functions, which emphasize the growing role of scientific information in the education system, in particular, extra-curricular work using multimedia technologies. Operational, complete, accurate, targeted information that meets objective and subjective needs becomes an important link between the field of management, science and practice.
