베트남 미혼여성의 결혼이주 인식에 대한 탐색적 연구 (Exploratory Research on Marriage Migrant Recognition for Unmarried Vietnamese Women)

  • This study explored general marriage migration for 180 unmarried Vietnamese immigrant women and identified differences in recognition after the choice of marriage. The methods used were frequency analysis, kai verification, and independent t verification were conducted. The findings were as follows. First, unmarried Vietnamese women showed a receptive attitude towards marriage migration with the less-educated group more likely to opt for marriage migration. Economic benefit expectations topped other factors in regards to the image of marriage migrant women and motivation. Dual national identity benefits were also indicated. Second, the perception of external and illusionary images of the spouses of marriage migrant women was low; however, the perception of good occupations and gender equality was high. A vague expectancy of marriage was also found. The perception was high that children from multi-cultural families would be global bilingual talents and adjust to school; however, the perception of social discrimination or prejudice was low. The perception of social discrimination was low concerning the perception of social integration towards marriage migrant women; however, the perception of identities, cultural differences and employment was present. By contrast, the group opting for marriage migration showed a significantly low perception of social discrimination and difficulty in employment. The suggested measures are to regulate and maintain forms of marriage type, reinforce prior training systems for Vietnamese immigrant women (and spouses), enhance multicultural recognition, and supplement multicultural policies.

다문화가족의 문화차이 인식과 문화적응의 양상 (The Perception of Cultural Differences and Types of Acculturation in Multicultural Families)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out cultural differences and types of adjustments made in response to the differences between married female immigrants and Korean men of multicultural families. The data were collected by in-depth interviews with 15 female immigrants and 5 Korean men. The major findings of this study were as follows : The female participants experienced cultural differences between Korea and their country in the areas of living culture, stereotyped gender role, and family's cultural traits. The male participants reported cultural differences in terms of the economic supports provided to the wife's family. The types and strategies of acculturation were as follows : adjusting themselves to the spouse's cultural type, the couple's mutual acceptance of the other's cultural type, and female participants resignation to accept help from their husband. The types of acculturation to the cultural differences based on couples' personal efforts and hard work invested into acculturation and the support from their family and society. The results of the study supported that multicultural families' perception of cultural differences and types of adjustment originited from their own experiences and cultural background.

아동이 지각한 부부갈등과 또래관계가 아동의 자기유능감에 미치는 영향: 다문화가정 아동과 일반가정 아동 비교 (Influence of Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict and Peer Relationship on Children's Self Competence: Comparison of Children from Multicultural Families and Korean Families)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in self competence between children from multicultural families and children from Korean families, and to study how interparental conflict and peer relationship influence the self competence of children. The subjects of the present study were 138 children of multicultural families and 254 children of Korean families in the 3rd or 4th grade in Seoul, Daegu, Gyeong-gi province, and Gyeong-buk province. The instruments of measurement were the Children's Perception of Interparental Conflict, Friendship and the Perceived Competence Scale for Children. Date were analyzed by independent samples T-test, MANCOVA, ANCOVA and multiple regression using the SPSS program. The results showed there was significant difference in the self competence of children between those from multicultural families and those from Korean families, but there was no significant difference when income was controlled. Second, for children of multicultural families, gender, income, and the intensity of interparental conflict had significant influence on self competence while gender, aid, conflict, and disclosure of negative affect in friendship, and being a peacemaker in interparental conflict influenced self competence significantly in the case of children of Korean families.

다문화 가정 청소년의 한국문화수용성과 학교생활적응에 관한 연구 (Multicultural Family Adolescents: Their Acceptance of Korean Culture and Adaption to Korean School Life)

  • The effect of an adolescent's being in a multicultural family, including the psychological, cultural, and situational characteristics of this experience, in terms of how it impacts acceptance of Korean culture, social competence, and educational adaptation was investigated. 120 multicultural family adolescents who were enrolled in Seouland Gyeonggi-do middle and high schools were surveyed. The results were analyzed by the PASW Statistics v18 program. Firstly, it was found that the psychological, cultural, and situational characteristics of multicultural family adolescents were significantly affected by family's general economic level and their mother's occupation and nationality. Secondly, multicultural family adolescents with higher self-perception, good accommodation of crosscultural attitudes in Korean culture and more relationships with Koreans tended to adapt to Korean culture more easily. Thirdly, multicultural family adolescents who adapted to Korean culture more easily could also adapt to school life well, and those who had better interpersonal relations and more advanced problem-solving skills had better relationships with school friends.

사회문제의 측면에서 본 다문화가족문제의 실태분석 및 해결방안 연구 (A Study on the Actual conditions and Solutions of the Multicultural Family Problems in Terms of Social Issues)

  • 본 연구는 최근 사회문제화 되고 있는 다문화가족문제에 대해 그 실태분석을 통하여 해결방안을 찾고자 함을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다: 첫째, 다문화 가족과 사회에 대한 정부와 국민 인식의 전환이 필요하다. 둘째, 다문화가족의 인권 침해, 근로문제, 생활문제 등의 지원을 위한 상담센터의 확대운영을 고려할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 다문화 교육내용과 대상 및 프로그램을 다양화하기 위한 정부를 비롯한 관련 기관 및 단체의 노력이 필요하다. 넷째, 다문화특구와 같은 별도의 지구책정이 필요하다.

다문화가족지원센터 관리자의 직무 경험에 대한 인식 (The Managers' Perception of Work Experience in Multicultural Family Support Centers)

  • This study identifies the aspects of a managers' perceived work experience in a Multicultural Family Support Center and analyzes how work experience backgrounds are formulated. In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 managers from March to September 2015 to understand managers' work experience. Descriptions from the interviews were analyzed using phenomenological research methods. The result show that their work experience can be categorized into 73 meanings, 10 subcategories, and five themes. The five themes are 'program development,' 'employees assignment optimization,' 'use and control network resources,' 'deal with changes in needs of multicultural families,' and 'supports vs. controls.' The analysis of the themes and subcategories from each theme allows us to first interpret that managers consider their significant and diversified work tasks overwhelming. Second, they find their jobs fit them and feel personally interested with a sense of duty from their work to overcome stress from heavy workloads. Third, managers put a high value on their work as a hands-on experience that is an officially authorized position from the government. Fourth, they are proud that they contribute to offering welfare services to multicultural families as members of Multicultural Family Support Centers.

다문화가정 부부를 위한 관계중심 부부소통 프로그램 (Relationship-focused intervention to enhance marriage communication for multicultural couples)

  • Objective: This study explored benefits of a relationship-focused intervention to enhance marriage communication designed for multicultural married couples and changes that occurred in the way the program's participants communicated with one another. Method: The intervention program was implemented on six married multicultural couples (and six other couples as a control group), and their communication, conflict resolution, and adaptation before and after the intervention were examined. In addition, the researchers kept observation journals to understand the changes in the manner in which the married multicultural couples communicated with their spouse and examine their perception about participating in the program; further, we conducted post-program interviews with the participants after the completion of the program. Results: The results of this study are as follows: (1) the experiment group made more progress in improving couple communication, resolving marriage conflicts, and adapting as a married couple than the control group in a statistically significant manner in both preand post-program tests, and (2) the study confirmed through qualitative analysis that the program made positive contributions to improving the couples' abilities to have conversations and resolve conflicts, as well as their intimacy. Conclusion: Based on these results, implications for further research and practices were discussed.

다문화정책의 시사점 도출을 위한 다문화가정아동의 능력지각과 자율성에 관한 실증적 분석 (Multicultural Policy Implications Derived for the Multicultural Children's Cognitive Abilities and Autonomy about an Empirical Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 다문화가정 아동의 능력지각이 자율성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 다문화정책의 시사점 도출을 위해 SPSS 19.0과 AMOS 19.0을 이용하여 실증적 분석을 실시하였다. 이를 위하여 A광역시와 Y시 지역에 위치한 초등학교 고학년을 대상으로 자율성에 관한 설문조사를 실시하여 최종 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 밝혀진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화가정아동의 사회적 능력지각과 개인적 능력지각은 심리적 안녕감에 영향이 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화가정아동의 심리적 안녕감이 자율성에 영향이 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며, 셋째, 다문화가정 아동의 사회적 능력지각과 개인적 능력지각이 자율성에 영향이 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 실증적 분석을 수행하여 도출한 분석결과를 요약하면 독립변수인 사회적 능력지각과 개인적 능력지각이 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 미치고 또한 종속변수인 자율성에 영향이 미치는 것으로 나타난 결과 이러한 인과관계를 통해 다문화가정 아동의 능력지각에 의미 있는 사실을 발견하였다.

사서와 다문화인 이용자의 서울시 공공도서관 다문화 서비스에 관한 인식 연구 (The Perception of Librarians and Multicultural Users on the Multicultural Library Services of Public Libraries in Seoul)

  • 21세기 사회는 이민율의 증가 등으로 점점 빠르게 세계화가 진행되고 있으며 우리나라는 이미 2007년에 외국인 100만 명을 넘어 다문화 국가로 진입하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 사회적 환경의 변화에 따라 공공도서관에서 다문화인들을 위한 서비스의 제공이 필요하게 된 것이다. 이에 공공도서관의 다문화서비스를 위한 프로그램 개발을 위하여 사서와 다문화인 도서관이용자가 가지고 있는 인식이 어떤 것인가를 살펴볼 필요가 있다고 보았다. 두 그룹간의 인식을 비교하고 그에 따라 적정한 모델을 구현하는 것이 효율적인 정보제공을 할 수 있을 것이라고 가정하였다. 설문지 분석결과를 보면 두 그룹 간에는 인식의 차이가 있었으며 그러한 차이를 좁혀가는 것이 다문화인들이 공공도서 관을 이용하는데 도움이 될 것이며 그들의 한국사회 적응에도 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 이 결과를 토대로 다문화서비스 모형을 제시하였다.
