Characteristics of the Magnetization Loss in Stacked YBCO Coated Conductors for Large Current Application (대전류 통전을 위한 YBCO CC 적층선재의 자화손실 특성)

  • For large power applications, multi-stacked tape should be used because single tape is limited in flowing demanded current capacity. Besides insulation between layers is needed for safe operation because high voltages are generated in those applications. In this study, considering those situations which mentioned above, we measure the magnetization loss in several multi-stacked tape samples having the different insulation thicknesses and various packing numbers of tape by external magnetic field having various incidence angles.

  • In this paper, we propose a multi target's elevation angle estimation method using multi beam forming technique. This method make a stacked beam to digital processing a received signal in array element. There can be desired receiving beam to application weight value at antenna element in beam forming. Currently, we are to make multi stacked beam using fast fourier transform in stead of phase shifter to be a computer performance much improvement. Also, we improve multi beam directivity using beam steering error correction technique in order to beam steering to desired direction in receiver. Through simulation, we show that the proposed elevation estimation method based on fast fourier transform and beam steering error correction technique, improves th performance of target estimation compared to previous method.

  • Multi-stacked HTS tapes are needed to conduct large current in the power application of superconducting machine. This paper deals with the transport current loss of multi-stacked YBCO coated conductor. YBCO coated conductor that was used in this experiment has two Cu layers above and below of YBCO layer for stabilization. Transport losses of four different stacks, single, 2 stack, 3 stack and 4 stack, were measured. Measured results were compared analytic equation suggested by Norris.

  • Superconducting electric power devices need to stack HTS wires to increase the current carrying capacity. Uniform multi-stacked wires(UMS) which were made of the same HTS wires have been used. This paper shows the magnetization loss of hybrid multi-stacked(HMS) wire made of BSCCO wires and YBCO wires. Five HMS wires, YB(YBCO-BSCCO), YYBB. YBYB, YBBY and BYYB, were made and tested. Magnetization losses of each UMS wire were compared with corresponding HMS wire. Test results show that magnetization losses per unit length of HMS wire are between the corresponding UMS BSCCO wire and HMS YBCO wire below critical magnetic field. Above the critical magnetic field, magnetization losses of HMS wires are larger than that of corresponding both VMS wires.

  • The research of graphene, a monolayer of carbon atoms with honeycomb lattice structure, has explosively increased after appeared in 2004. As a result, its high transmittance, mobility, thermal conductivity, and outstanding mechanical and chemical stability have been proved. Especially, many researches were executed about the field of transparent electrode highlighting material of substituting the indium tin oxide (ITO). In addition, qualitative and quantitative improvements have been achieved due to many synthesis methods were discovered. Among them, mostly used method is chemical vapour deposition of graphene grown on copper or nickel. The transmittance, mobility, sheet resistance, and other many properties are completely changed according to these two types of synthesis method of graphene. In this research, considering the difference of characteristics as the synthesis method of graphene, what types of graphene should be used and how to use it were studied. The stacked graphene harvested on copper and multi-layer graphene harvested on nickel were compared and analyzed, as a result, the transmittance of 90% and the sheet resistance of $70{\Omega}{\square}$ was showed even though stacked graphene layers were 4 layers. The reason that could bring these results is lowered sheet resistance due to stacked monolayer graphenes. Moreover, light output power of the three stacked graphene spreading layer shows the highest value, but light-emitting diode with multi-layer graphene died out from 12mA due to also its high sheet resistance. Therefore, we need to clarify about what types of graphene and how to use the graphene in use.

AC Losses of the Multi-stacked HTS tapes and Pancake Coil (고온초전도 적층선재의 손실과 적층선재로 제작한 팬케이크 권선의 손실)

  • In this paper, we present effect of the stacked HTS tapes. AC losses of HTS pancake windings with stacked tapes are shown. Magnetic flux density in the HTS winding under operating conditions was calculated by FEM. AC loss of the pancake winding were measured and compared with the calculated loss by using AC losses of the stacked samples. Test results show that measured results generally agreed well with the calculated value by using AC loss of 4-stacked sample data.

  • Graphene is a most interesting material due to its unique and outstanding properties. However, semi-metallic properties of graphene along with zero bandgap energy structure limit further application to optoelectronic devices. Recently, many researchers have shown that band gap can be induced in the Bernal stacked bilayer graphene. Several methods have been used for the controlled growth of the Bernal staked bilayer graphene, but it is still challenging to control the growth process. In this paper, we synthesize the large area Bernal stacked bilayer graphene using multi heating zone low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD). The synthesized bilayer graphenes are characterized by Raman spectroscopy, optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) is used for the observation of atomic resolution image of the graphene layers.
