Task Scheduling and Resource Management Strategy for Edge Cloud Computing Using Improved Genetic Algorithm

  • To address the problems of large system overhead and low timeliness when dealing with task scheduling in mobile edge cloud computing, a task scheduling and resource management strategy for edge cloud computing based on an improved genetic algorithm was proposed. First, a user task scheduling system model based on edge cloud computing was constructed using the Shannon theorem, including calculation, communication, and network models. In addition, a multi-objective optimization model, including delay and energy consumption, was constructed to minimize the sum of two weights. Finally, the selection, crossover, and mutation operations of the genetic algorithm were improved using the best reservation selection algorithm and normal distribution crossover operator. Furthermore, an improved legacy algorithm was selected to deal with the multi-objective problem and acquire the optimal solution, that is, the best computing task scheduling scheme. The experimental analysis of the proposed strategy based on the MATLAB simulation platform shows that its energy loss does not exceed 50 J, and the time delay is 23.2 ms, which are better than those of other comparison strategies.

  • In general, a differential operator can be used as a tool of treating the local properties of given function. However, when the given function is varied with high frequency and has irregular form with non-stationary evolution it may not act its role sufficiently as in case of nowhere differentiable curves. In this paper we introduce a multi-scale derivative as a form of weakened global derivative so that it may explain its semi global diffusion properties as well as local ones for the various irregular diffusion phenomena.

자연배경에서 여러 객체 윤곽선의 추출을 위한 스네이크의 자동화 (Automation of Snake for Extraction of Multi-Object Contours from a Natural Scene)

  • 자연배경으로부터 불특정 다수 객체의 윤곽선들을 자동 추출하는 다중 스네이크(Snake) 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 먼저 잡음에 강건한 문맥자유 주목연산자(context-free attention operator)를 이용하여 자연배경에 혼재하는 불특정 다수 객체들을 자동 검출하고, 각 객체별로 스네이크의 초기 윤곽들을 자동 설정함으로써 기존 스네이크 알고리즘에서는 어려웠던 초기 윤곽의 자동 설정과 여러 객체 윤곽선의 동시 추출 문제를 해결하였다. 이때 각 스네이크의 초기 윤곽들은 기존의 방법들에 비해 객체들의 실제윤곽선에 좀 더 가까이 설정하여 요철이 큰 객체들의 윤곽선도 쉽게 추출 할 수 있도록 하였다. 다양한 합성 영상과 자연배경의 실영상에 대해 실험하여 잡음이 있는 복잡한 배경으로부터도 불특정 다수 객체의 윤곽선을 효과적으로 자동 추출함을 확인하였다.

A New Multi-objective Evolutionary Algorithm for Inter-Cloud Service Composition

  • Service composition in the Inter-Cloud raises new challenges that are caused by the different Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of the users, which are served by different geo-distributed Cloud providers. This paper aims to explore how to select and compose such services while considering how to reach high efficiency on cost and response time, low network latency, and high reliability across multiple Cloud providers. A new hybrid multi-objective evolutionary algorithm to perform the above task called LS-NSGA-II-DE is proposed, in which the differential evolution (DE) algorithm uses the adaptive mutation operator and crossover operator to replace the those of the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm-II (NSGA-II) to get the better convergence and diversity. At the same time, a Local Search (LS) method is performed for the Non-dominated solution set F{1} in each generation to improve the distribution of the F{1}. The simulation results show that our proposed algorithm performs well in terms of the solution distribution and convergence, and in addition, the optimality ability and scalability are better compared with those of the other algorithms.

시각시스템의 Edge 검출용 고속 마스크 Operator (Fast Mask Operators for the edge Detection in Vision System)

  • 행렬분해에 의하여 edge검출용 mask operator의 고속계산법을 제시하였다. 다방향성 mask operator의 각방향에 대한 계산결과는 mask원소와 화상간의 곱한 것을 합산한 것이다. 이것은 각 mask의 원소를 행으로 하는 행렬과 mask에 포함되는 화소를 원소로하는 벡터와의 곱과 마찬가지여서 1차원 신호변환으로도 취급할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Sobel 및 Prewitt operator의 경우에 대한 변환행렬을 구한 다음 분해하여 계산량을 산출하여 직접 계산할 때의 방법과 비교하였다. 이 결과 여분의 기억점을 사용치 않고서도 이 방법에 의한 계산량은 Soble 및 Prweitt operator의 경우에 각각 직접 계산량의 42.86%, 50%밖에 되지 않았다. 그리고 100x100화소의 화상인 경우에 301개의 여분의 기억점을 사용할때에 Sobel opreator는 직접 계산량의 35.93%로 줄어 들었다.

  • 스마트 스페이스 환경은 유무선 네트워크기반과 다중 센서 기반이며 많은 제어기를 필요로 한다. 이러한 환경을 위해서 본 논문에서는 멀티레이트 디지털 분산 제어 제어기를 제안한다. 제안된 제어기 설계 방법은 디지털 재 설계 기법을 적용하는 것이다. 구체적으로 제안된 기법은 delta-operator와 멀티레이트를 기반으로 하며 선형 행렬 부등식형태로 나타난다. 제안된 기법의 우수성을 검증하기 위해서 스마트 스페이스에서 널리 사용되는 Heating, ventilating, and alt conditioning (HVAC) 시스템에 대해서 모의실험을 하였다.

Development of a Master-Slave System for Active Endoscope Using a Multi-DOF Ultrasonic Motor

  • Endoscopes for industrial and medical fields are expected to have multi degree-of-freedom (DOF) motions. A multi-DOF ultrasonic motor we developed consists of a spherical rotor and a bar-shaped stator, and the rotor rotates around three perpendicular axes using three natural vibration modes of the stator. In this study, a multi-DOF unilateral master-slave system for active endoscope using the multi-DOF ultrasonic motor is developed. The configurations of master and slave arms for active endoscope are similar, so that an operator can easily handle the master-slave system. First, driving characteristics of the multi-DOF ultrasonic motor are measured in order to design the slave arm and its controller. Next, the master arm and the slave arm are designed. Then, the unilateral feedback controller for the master-slave system is developed. Finally, the motion control tests of rotor are conducted. As a result, the possibility of the endoscope is confirmed.

  • One of the characteristics of both on-line analytical processing(OLAP) applications and decision support systems is to provide aggregated source data. The purpose of this study is to discuss on the aggregation of multi-dimensional data. In this paper, we (1) examine the SQL aggregate functions and the GROUP BY operator, (2) introduce the Data Cube and MDX, (3) present an example for the practical usage of the Data Cube and MDX using sample data.

  • We propose a new optimization method to improve the productivity of dispenser machines in PCB assembly lines. The optimization problem for multi-nozzle dispensers is formulated as a variant TSP. A genetic algorithm is applied to the problem to get a near-optimal solution. Chromosome and some operator are newly defined to implement the genetic algorithm for multi-nozzle dispensers. Simulation results are then presented to verify the usefulness of the method.

  • It is well known that every invariant harmonic function on the unit ball of the multi-dimensional complex space has the volume version of the invariant mean value property. In 1993 Ahern, Flores and Rudin first observed that the validity of the converse depends on the dimension of the underlying complex space. Later Lie and Shi obtained the analogues on the unit ball of multi-dimensional real space. In this paper we obtain the half-space analogues of the results of Liu and Shi.
