  • This paper deals with the three phase high voltage power-grid connection topology using multi-level inverter. Due to the multi-level inverter, these are improved effect of fluctuating voltage, problem of EMC and switching loss using suitable switching patterns of device, above all thing, it is easy to realize the system because of using lower voltage rating switch. This topology can be applicable to power-grid connection of wind system, there is a good point about economical efficiency. The simulation results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed topology.

  • Soft switching was applied to the multi-level inverter to enhance the performance of the high-intensity discharge (HID) ballast used in vehicle headlights. The electrical properties were investigated and the available modeling of ballast in steady state was calculated using mathematical methods. The result was used in analyzing the power characteristics. The modeling was confirmed by the experiment.

  • In this paper presents study of T-Type multi level inverter for utility interactive photo voltaic inverter. In order to increase efficiency and performance of utility interactive photo voltaic (UIPV) system, we propose multi level PCS topology, such as T-type inverter. The control algorithm for utility interactive inverter is implemented by simulation and experimentation, which includes dc-bus and midpoint voltage controller, ac-grid current controller and PLL algorithm.

  • In this paper, we proposed the electric circuit using one common arm of H-Bridge Inverters to reduce the number of switching component in multi-level inverter combined with H-Bridge Inverters and Transformers. and furthermore we suggested the new multi-level PWM inverter using PWM level to reduce THD(Total Harmonic Distortion). and we used the switching method that can be same rate of usage at each transformer. Also, we tested the proposed prototype 9-level inverter to clarify the proposed electric circuit and reasonableness of control signal for the proposed multi-level PWM inverter.

  • The number of transformers and the size of transformers in inverter using 3-phase transformer could be reduced compare with a multi-level inverter using single phase transformer. but still the 3-phase transformer inverter needs many switches. In this study, we proposed the isolated multi-level inverter using 3-phase transformers and common arm. Also, the equal-area method is used to calculate conduction angle with switching frequency equal to output fundamental frequency and it can reduce harmonics component of output voltage and switching loss. Finally, We tested multi-level inverter to clarify electric circuit and reasonableness through Matlab simulation and experiment by using prototype inverter.

  • In this paper, the design process and the control method of the power conversion system (PCS) that consists of a bidirectional DC-DC converter and a 3-level T-type inverter for an energy storage system is presented. Especially the design method of the output LCL filter for a 3-lvel T-type inverter without complex mathematical process are proposed. The validity of the control method and design process in this paper are verified through simulation and experimental analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 고전압 전동기 가변속 장치인 H-브릿지 멀티레벨(H-Bridge Multi-Level; HBML) 인버터를 이용한 유도 전동기 벡터 제어시 인버터의 출력 전압 위상 지연 현상을 해석하고 전류 제어기의 보상 기법을 제시하였다. Phase-Shifted Pulse Width Modulation (PSPWM) 기법을 적용한 HBML 인버터는 개별 인버터 모듈이 독립적으로 동작할 수 있어서 확장성과 모듈화 능력이 향상되는 장점이 있다. 그러나 이러한 PSPWM을 적용한 HBML 인버터는 기준 전압과 실제 전압 사이에 위상 차이가 있기 때문에 출력 주파수에 대한 샘플링 주파수의 비율이 충분하지 않은 고속 영역에서 전류 제어기를 불안정하게 하는 원인이 된다. 전류 제어기의 불안정성은 기준 전압과 출력 전압의 위상 차이를 보상하는 제안된 방법을 추가함으로써 제거하였다. 본 방법은 인버터의 스위칭 주파수가 낮고, 전동기 속도가 높은 조건에서 PSPWM을 이용한 HBML 인버터 시스템에 효과적이며, 13레벨로 구성된 HBML 인버터로 구동되는 6,600[V] 1,400[kW] 유도전동기 실험을 통해 제안된 방법의 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • This paper proposes a new solution by carrier-based SVPWM method to solve the most serious problem of Flying Capacitor Multi-level Inverter that is unbalance of capacitor voltages The voltage unbalance is occurred by the difference of each capacitor's charging and discharging time applied to Flying Capacitor Multi-level Inverter. It controls the variation of capacitor voltages into the mean'0' during some period by means of new carriers using the leg voltage redundancy in the Inverter. The solution can be easily expanded to the multi-level. Also this method can make the switching loss and conduction loss of device equal by the use of leg voltage redundancy. First the unbalance of capacitor voltage is analyzed and the conventional theory of self-balance using phase-shifted carrier is reviewed. And then the new method that is suitable to the Flying Capacitor Inverter is explained. The simulation results would be shown to verify the proposed method

  • In this paper, we proposed the isolated multi-level inverter using 3-phase transformers. It makes possible to use a single DC power source due to employing low frequency transformers. In this inverter, the number of transformer could be reduced comparing with an exiting 3-phase multi-level inverter using single phase transformer. Also, using phase angle control method with switching frequency equal to output fundamental frequency, harmonics component of output voltage and switching losses can be reduced. Finally, we made a prototype inverter to clarify the proposed electric circuit and reasonableness of control signal.
