  • A model helicopter is an unstable, multi-input multi-output nonlinear system exposed to strong disturbances and its system parameters change continually. In this paper, Time Delay Control(TDC) is adopted for these reasons. TDC uses past observation of the system's response and the control input to directly modify the control action rather than adjusting the controller gains leading to a model independent robust controller. TDC can force the plant to follow an appropriate reference model, but the reference model cannot be chosen arbitrarily. In this paper the procedure of choosing a reference model and the performance of the controller are presented.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to design variable structure systems with sliding sector for multi-input multi-output systems with mismatched uncertainties in the state matrix. For the uncertain systems we define sliding sectors within which a norm of the state decreases with zero input despite of mismatched uncertainties. Using the notion of the sliding sector we give simple design algorithms of variable structure control laws that can reduce the chattering. Finally, we give a design example in order to show the effectiveness of our method.

  • In this paper the nodes of the multilayer hidden layers have been modified for modeling the nonlinear systems. The structure of nodes in the hidden layers is built with the feedforward, the cross talk and the recurrent connections. The feedforward links are mapping the nonlinear function and the cross talks and the recurent links memorize the dynamics of the system. The cross talks are connected between the modes in the same hidden layers and the recurrent connection has self feedback, and these two connections receive one time delayed input signals. The simplified steam boiler and the analytic multi input multi output nonlinear system which contains process noise have been modeled using this neural networks.

  • The general description concerning the multi-line systems with the switching rules have been presented by Ahn. In this paper we derive some steady state probabilities for three mainly different kinds of systems. We assume that all of the systems are to have poisson input with the finite mean $1/\lambda$ and two servers with the negative exponentional service distribution where each has its own mean $1/u_i$. The notations follow the paper (Ahn, 1979).

  • In this paper, the improved Multi-FNN (Fuzzy-Neural Networks) model is identified and optimized using HCM (Hard C-Means) clustering method and optimization algorithms. The proposed Multi-FNN is based on FNN and use simplified and linear inference as fuzzy inference method and error back propagation algorithm as learning rules. We use a HCM clustering and genetic algorithms (GAs) to identify both the structure and the parameters of a Multi-FNN model. Here, HCM clustering method, which is carried out for the process data preprocessing of system modeling, is utilized to determine the structure of Multi-FNN according to the divisions of input-output space using I/O process data. Also, the parame...

  • For a single-input nonlinear system, the transformation which transposes the nonlinear system to a controllable-like canonical system has been proposed. However this method islimited by a single-input system and it is difficult to apply the method actually. In this paper we propose a method which transposes the nonlinear system with multi-input into an equivalent pseudo-linear system. And we apply the pseudo-linear system to a linear optimal regulator. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method, a transient stability control of the generator with an excitor and a governor is considered.

  • This study is focused on developing a program which can edit different formats of power system data used by system operators PSS/E program, which has been widely used as a tool for power system analysis. Provides only a limited function of editing PSS/E input data. Considering that more and more power system analysers will be developed and applied for power system planning and operation in the near future, unified handling of multi-types of power system data format, such as conversion of one input data format into another, is indispensible. In this paper, a new power system data editor, functionally augmented from PSS/E editor, is introduced. The new editing program was developed in GUI environment for users to conveniently edit input data for EUROSTAG program without running several editors. Considerable savings in time and manpower are expected.

  • This paper deals with a design of observer based fault detection filter for a boiler-turbine control system. The goal is to present a method for rapid sensor fault detection in order to enhance the reliability of boiler-turbine operation in the thermal power plant. Our fault detection filter can be designed via solutions of linear matrix inequalities. In order to demonstrate the efficacy of our design method, numerical simulations are provided.
