Inductance and Torque Characteristics Analysis of Multi-Layer Buried Magnet Synchronous Machines

  • Inductance characteristics, torque variations and ripple according to current, and position of multi-layer buried magnet synchronous machines with field-weakening operations are presented. The rotor structure optimal design of a buried magnet synchronous machine with high performance is investigated, and optimization results and comparison among design candidates are shown. For the fast and accurate search of multiple optima, the auto-tuning niching genetic algorithm is used and a final solution is selected considering various design factors.

  • This paper considers enhancing the robustness of a MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) predictive control system. The characteristic polynomial matrix of the closed-loop is shown to consist of two factors $P_c$ and T, where $P_c$ is determined by the tuning knobs of the predictive controller and T is an observer or prefilter polynomial matrix. The robust stability condition is derived in terms of $P_c$ and T. A guideline on the selection of T is then presented for open-loop stable processes.

  • Fuzzy control systems depend on a number of parameters such as the shape or magnitude of the fuzzy membership functions, etc. Conventional fuzzy reasoning method can not be easily applied to the multi-input multi-output(MIMO) system due to the large number of rules in the rule base. Recently Z. Cao et al have proposed a New Fuzzy Reasoning Method(NFRM) which turned out to be superior to Zadeh's FRM. We have extended the NFRM to handle the MIMO system. However, it is difficult to choose a proper relation matrix of the NFRM. Therefore, we have modified the evolution strategy(ES), which is one of the optimization algorithms, to do efficiently the tuning operation for the extended NFRM. Finally we applied the extended NFRM with the modified ES to tracking control of robot manipulator.

  • This paper is concerned with the examination and evaluation concerning a tuning method of multivariable PID controllers based on partial model matching on frequency domain proposed by authors from practical view point. In this case, PID controller parameters are determined by minimizing the loss function defined by the difference between frequency response of ideal model transfer function and actual frequency response on several frequency points. The purpose of the paper is to examine and evaluate the performance of the method through actual experiments of MIMO liquid level experimental process control equipment.

  • 여러 개의 광섬유격자를 가변하여 파장변환과 스위칭이 가능한 다파장 EDF 링레이저를 제안하였다. 광섬유격자에 인가되는 압력을 변화시킴으로써 EDF 링레이저의 출력파장과 파장간격을 연속적으로 변환시킬 수 있었으며, 편광조절기를 조절하여 EDF 링레이저의 출력파장을 두 파장, 세 파장 또는 네 파장으로 스위칭 할 수 있었다.

  • This paper proposes CDC (Continuous Damping Control) algorithm and verifies in multi-body dynamic vehicle. In order to distinguish a road profile on driving, waviness calculated by the filtered vertical-accelerations of sprung and unsprung masses is introduced. Sky-hook control is used at a low waviness road and constant damping level control is used at a high waviness road, where the hard damping level is determined by waviness, roll rate, acceleration, and deceleration. The damping levels of ride, anti-roll, anti-squat, and anti-dive modules are calculated by tuning parameters which is dependent upon vehicle velocity. Therefore this high tunable algorithm is useful to improve the ride and handling performance under various driving conditions. In the simulations, tire and dampers are modelled by SWIFT (Short Wavelength Intermediate Frequency Tire) model and 1st order delay model, and results are compared with conventional damper's.

  • A widely tunable multi-channel grating cavity laser is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The device is implemented in Littman configuration with an echelle grating based on Rowland circle construction and realized by monolithically integrating all elements in an InP substrate. Lasing wavelength is selected by turning on an amplifier and the appropriate channel element in the array, and it is tuned by controlling light deflection electrically. The 6-channel device exhibits a tuning range of about 50 nm with a side mode suppression ratio of more than 30 dB. This is accomplished by adjusting the applied current of the dispersive element and phase control section.

  • For the fabrication of multifunctional biopolymer nanocomposites in the combination of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), recently increasing attention has been paid to an effective homogenization of CNTs within polymer matrices and a fine tuning of the concentration. We developed an efficient method to produce homogeneous CNT-polycaprolactone nanocomposites with various and controllable CNT concentrations using an ionically-modified multi-walled CNT, MWCNT-Cl. The modified MWCNTs could be homogeneously dispersed in tetrahydrofuran (THF). Polycaprolactone (PCL) as a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer was smoothly dissolved in the homogeneous MWCNT-Cl/THF solution without agglomeration of MWCNT-Cl. The physicochemical and mechanical properties of the resultant nanocomposites were examined and the biological usefulness was briefly assessed.

  • In this paper, neural networks predictive PID (NNPPID) control system is proposed to reduce the vibration of structure. NNPPID control system is made up predictor, controller, and self-tuner to yield the optimal parameters of controller. The neural networks predictor forecasts the future outputs based on present input and output of structure. The controller is PID type whose parameters are yielded by neural networks self tuning algorithm. Computer simulations show displacements of multi-story structures applied to NNPPID system about environmental load-wind forces and earthquakes.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중표적 추적을 위한 데이터 결합 기법 중에서 MHDA 스킴을 제안하였다. 이 구조는 기본의 JPDA보다 계산면에서 단축이 가능하여 실제 응용에 많은 적용이 기대된다. 인위적인 측정값과 표적을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행한 결과 MHDA는 기존의 JPDA보다 성능도 비슷한 특성을 보이는 것을 확인하였다.
