  • This paper presents an application of a multiphase interleaved converter in tracking maximum power points (MPPs) of a photovoltaic (PV) panel regardless of environmental variations. Maximum power from the panel was extracted by means of the well-known the perturb-and-observe (P&O) method. The switching control technique used an interleaving scheme based on multi-unit synchronization. The converter performed harmonic attenuation without affecting the tracking speed. This approach is straightforward, reliable and inexpensive, and could be applied to any higher number of switching cells without difficulty.

  • The diversity reception and the equal gain combining technique are applied to the compensation of the distortion of channel, which occurs in transmission of data at rapid speed. DSSS BPSK system which has the receiving structure with the compensation algorithm is formed on the diversity branch, and the characteristics of the system are evaluated at the view point of the average bit error rate due to the SNR. In addition, the multi-tap update algorithm which is superior for the data compensation is suggested. Moreover, using the American Joint Technical Committee PCS RF channel characterization and system deployment model standard, the suggested multi-tap update algorithm is compared and analyzed with the view-point of the average bit error rate and convergence speed for evaluating the realistic efficiency of the system.

  • In this article, we introduce the hyperbolic space version of a faster iterative algorithm. The proposed iterative algorithm is used to approximate the common fixed point of three multi-valued almost contraction mappings and three multi-valued mappings satisfying condition (E) in hyperbolic spaces. The concepts weak w2-stability involving three multi-valued almost contraction mappings are considered. Several strong and △-convergence theorems of the suggested algorithm are proved in hyperbolic spaces. We provide an example to compare the performance of the proposed method with some well-known methods in the literature.

  • This paper investigates the performance comparison of a Terahertz (THz) communications for a single-carrier and a multi-carrier single antenna point-to-point communication system. The multi-carrier system and single carrier system consider the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and the minimum mean square error linear equalizer (MMSE-LE), respectively. We compare the frame-error-rate (FER) and throughput performance of both the systems for a THz communication environment with the carrier frequency of 300GHz and the tapped delay line (TDL) channel models described in 3GPP. It is observed from the simulation results that the OFDM systems outperform the MMSE-LE for various configurations.

  • This paper proposes a new design and implementation of multi-protocol IED for networked control system of multi-induction motor in industrial fields. The experimental multi-induction motor based multi-protocol IED of Modbus/LonTalks/TCP/IP module is designed and fabricated. This article addresses issues in architecture of LonWorks/Ethernet sever, embedded processors architecture for converting Modbus protocol to LonTalks protocol, integrating preconfigured software, and Internet technologies. It is also verified that the multi-induction motor control and monitoring system using LonWorks/Ethernet server have available, interoperable, reliable performance characteristics from the experimental results, especially, the seamless integration of TCP/IP networks with control networks allows access to any control point from anywhere. Thus, the results provide available technical data for remote distributed motor control system of industrial field or building microgrid with LonWorks BAS.

  • Aiming at the poor compression quality of traditional image compression coding (ICC) algorithm, a multi-description ICC algorithm based on depth learning is put forward in this study. In this study, first an image compression algorithm was designed based on multi-description coding theory. Image compression samples were collected, and the measurement matrix was calculated. Then, it processed the multi-description ICC sample set by using the convolutional self-coding neural system in depth learning. Compressing the wavelet coefficients after coding and synthesizing the multi-description image band sparse matrix obtained the multi-description ICC sequence. Averaging the multi-description image coding data in accordance with the effective single point's position could finally realize the compression coding of multi-description images. According to experimental results, the designed algorithm consumes less time for image compression, and exhibits better image compression quality and better image reconstruction effect.

  • One of the important use of piles is to furnish lateral support and nowadays it is getting highlighted due to the increase of skyscrapers, transmission towers, wind turbines, and other lateral action dependent structures. After Broms (1964), many researchers have suggested methods for estimating lateral capacity of pile. But each method assumes different earth pressure distribution and lateral earth pressure coefficient causing confusion on the part of pile designers. Lateral earth pressure, essential in lateral capacity estimation, is influenced by pile's rotational behavior under lateral load. Prasad and Chari (1999) assumed the rotation point of pile and suggested an equation of ultimate lateral load capacity. In this study, we investigate the depth of rotation point in both homogeneous soil and multi layered soil, and compare with the estimation value by previous research. Test results show that measured rotation point and estimated value by Prasad and Chari's equation show good agreement and multi layered condition affects the location of rotation point to be changed.

  • This study is to evaluate the accuracy improvement of the model using SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model and multi - point hydrological observation data. The watershed is located in the Yongdam Dam($930.4km^2$), the Donghyang($165.5km^2$), the Chuncheon($290.9km^2$), the Juchun($57.8km^2$) and the Seokjeong($80.5km^2$). The watershed covers 70.0 % forest. In order to improve the accuracy of the model, precipitation data were used from two weather stations(Jangsu, Geumsan) and 16 AWS stations daily precipitation data(2003~2011) managed by KMA, MLIT, and K-water. Based on the reliable data of the Yongam test basin in 2003~2011, the runoff of single point (Yongdam dam) and multi-point (Donghyang, Chuncheon, Jucheon, Seokjeong). Simulation results show that the $R^2$ of the single subwatershed (Donghyang, Chuncheon, Jucheon, Seokjeong) is single point(0.84) and multipoint(0.88). For model efficiency coefficient of Nash-Sutcliffe at single point(0.45) and multipoint(0.70).

  • Kaneko et a1.[4] etc many authors extended with multi-valued maps for the notion of compatible maps in complete metric space. Recently, O'Regan et a1.[5] presented fixed point and homotopy results for compatible single-valued maps on complete metric spaces. In this paper, we will establish some common fixed point theorems using compatible maps in intuitionistic fuzzy metric space.

  • We propose a modified 6-node element, where the sampling point of Gauss quadrature moved in the thickness direction. The modified 6-node element has been applied to static problems and forced motion analyses. In this study, this method is extended to the finite element analysis of the natural frequencies of two dimensional problems. We also propose a modified 16-node element for three dimensional problems, which behaves much like a 20-node element with smaller degree of freedom. The modified 6-node and 16-node elements have been applied to the modal analyses of beams and plates, respectively. The results agree well with the results of the 8-node or 20-node element models.
