  • We proposed a new High-speed CMOS Level Up/Down Shifter circuits that can be used with Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling(DVFS) algorithm, for low power system in the SoC(System-on-Chip). This circuit used to interface between the other voltage levels in each CMOS circuit boundary, or between multiple core voltage levels in a system bus. Proposed circuit have advantage that decrease speed attenuation and duty ratio distortion problems for interface. The level up/down shifter of the proposed circuit designed that operated from multi core voltages$(0.6\sim1.6V)$ to used voltage level for each IP at the 500MHz input frequency The proposed circuit supports level up shifting from the input voltage levels, that are standard I/O voltages 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, to multiple core voltage levels in between of $0.6V\sim1.6V$, that are used internally in the system. And level down shifter reverse operated at 1Ghz input frequency for same condition. Simulations results are shown to verify the proposed function by Hspice simulation, with $0.6V\sim1.6V$ CMOS Process, $0.13{\mu}m$ IBM CMOS Process and $0.65{\mu}m$ CMOS model parameters. Moreover, it is researched delay time, power dissipation and duty ration distortion of the output voltage witch is proportional to the operating frequency for the proposed circuit.

The implemented motor controller that is fused controller with advantage of FPGA and embedded processor. The signal processing part of high velocity motor control is performed by motor controller based on FPGA. A motion profile and kinematic calculation that are required algorithm process such as operation of a complicate decimal point has processed in an embedded processor based on dual core. As a result of a hardware implementation, it has an advantage that has can be realized an effect of distribution process in one chip. It has also an advantage that is able to organize as a multi-axis motor controller through adding the IP core of motor control implemented on FPGA.

  • Today's multi-core technology rapidly increases with more and more Intellectual Property cores on a single chip. Network-on-Chip (NoC) is an emerging communication network design for SoC. For efficient on-chip communication, routing algorithms plays an important role. This paper proposes a novel multicast routing technique entitled as Docket NoC (Dt-NoC), which eliminates the need of routing tables for faster communication. This technique reduces the latency and computing power of NoC. This work uses a CURVE restriction based algorithm to restrict few CURVES during the communication between source and destination and it prevents the network from deadlock and livelock. Performance evaluation is done by utilizing cycle accurate RTL simulator and by Cadence TSMC 18 nm technology. Experimental results show that the Dt-NoC architecture consumes power approximately 33.75% 27.65% and 24.85% less than Baseline XY, EnA, OEnA architectures respectively. Dt-NoC performs good as compared to other routing algorithms such as baseline XY, EnA, OEnA distributed architecture in terms of latency, power and throughput.

  • Hardware based dynamic voltage and frequency scaling is a promising technique to reduce power consumption in a globally asynchronous locally synchronous system such as a homogeneous or heterogeneous multi-core system. In this paper, FPGA prototype design of hardware based dynamic frequency scaling is proposed. The proposed techniques are applied to a FIFO based multi-core system for a software defined radio and Network-on-Chip based hardware MPEG2 encoder. Compared with a references system using a single global clock, the first prototype design reduces the power consumption by 78%, but decreases the performance by 5.9%. The second prototype design shows that power consumption decreases by 29.1% while performance decreases by 0.36%.

  • A programmable video decoding system with multi-core DSP and co-processors is presented. This system is adopted by Digital TV SoC (System on Chip) and is used for FHD HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) decoder. Using the DSP based programmable solution, we can reduce commercialization period by one year because we can parallelize algorithm development, software optimization and hardware design. In addition to the HEVC decoding, the proposed system can be used for other application such as other video decoding standard for multi-format decoder or video quality enhancement.

  • The main objective of this paper is to study vibration of sandwich open cylindrical panel with damaged core and FG face sheets based on three-dimensional theory of elasticity. The structures are made of a damaged isotropic core and two external face sheets. These skins are strengthened at the nanoscale level by randomly oriented Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and are reinforced at the microscale stage by oriented straight fibers. These reinforcing phases are included in a polymer matrix and a three-phase approach based on the Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka scheme and on the Halpin-Tsai approach, which is developed to compute the overall mechanical properties of the composite material. Three complicated equations of motion for the panel under consideration are semi-analytically solved by using 2-D differential quadrature method. Several parametric analyses are carried out to investigate the mechanical behavior of these multi-layered structures depending on the damage features, through-the-thickness distribution and boundary conditions. It is seen that for the large amount of power-law index "P", increasing this parameter does not have significant effect on the non-dimensional natural frequency parameters of the FG sandwich curved panel. Results indicate that by increasing the value of isotropic damage parameter "D" up to the unity (fully damaged core) the frequency would tend to become zero. One can dictate the fiber variation profile through the radial direction of the sandwich panel via the amount of "P", "b" and "c" parameters. It should be noticed that with increase of volume fraction of fibers, the frequency parameter of the panels does not increase necessarily, so by considering suitable amounts of power-law index "P" and the parameters "b" and "c", one can get dynamic characteristics similar or better than the isotropic limit case for laminated FG curved panels.

  • Network coding has been shown to improve various performance metrics in network systems. However, if network coding is implemented as software a huge time delay may be incurred at encoding/decoding stage so it is imperative for network coding to be parallelized to reduce time delay when encoding/decoding. In this paper, we compare the performance of parallelized decoders for random linear network coding (RLC) and pipeline network coding (PNC), a recent development in order to alleviate problems of RLC. We also compare multi-threaded algorithms on multi-core CPUs and massively parallelized algorithms on GPGPU for PNC/RLC.
