A Study on the Classification of Podcasting Users in the Smartphone Era - Podcasting of Terrestrial Radio Programs (스마트폰 시대의 팟캐스팅 이용자 유형화 연구 - 지상파 프로그램의 팟캐스팅을 중심으로)

  • The idea to conduct this study stemmed from the following question: What is the appropriate interpretation of the recent change in the user behavior of radio listeners? For some terrestrial radio programs, traditional listeners who mainly listen to them real-time through terrestrial radio broadcasting has been outnumbered by those who access them on smartphones and other mobile devices in a nonlinear way outside the pre-scheduled time slots of the programs. In the research, how terrestrial radio listeners use the new service called podcasting to access and consume audio content were examined by using Q methodology. As a result, three different types of user behavior and perception were modeled. This shows a prominent change in radio content use, which is moving away from the conventional user behavior pattern of radio content, one of the key media for mass communication in the 20th century. Such a development opens up new opportunities to create the same or even a greater user base compared to the existing one for terrestrial radio programs with the users' newly gained mobile access and to replace current radio content by using podcasting as a new service.

  • Recently, appearance is recognized as competitiveness as well as self expressing means, so understanding of general people have been rapidly changed. Also, since modem people have interest in an operation as well as various cosmetic treatment fields, a plastic surgery clinic is expanding its region to laser treatment and skin care for modem people. However, the plastic surgery clinic is not located in a building for only hospitals, but located in general neighborhood living facilities or an office building, so medical treatment is performed at the place. It is often found that a building plan can not conform to conditions that the hospital requires. This study is to understand a plane deciding factor of the plastic surgery clinic by analyzing it in a limit of building space and functional aspects of the plastic surgery clinic. A study method is first to investigate space composition according to the function, area allocation according to the function and a space privacy region after classifying study objects into large, middle, small scales so as to understand a functional role of the plastic surgery clinic, and secondly to analyze on the base of length of long and short edges of space and a moving line system after classifying common space types of the plastic surgery clinic through plane analysis of the study objects. As a result of the study, functional space difference according to the scale was shown, and the common space types were affected by length of the long and short edges, and it can influence space composition.

  • Lacan's Identification theory has been applied to various cultural genres such as literature, film, media so on. Especially, Identification theory in Film Theory gives game researchers who try to apply identification theory to the game, a concrete base. This paper aims to explain the gamer's action through identification theory. Thus, we divide identification into the level of the gamer's point of view and that of the character in game text. While point-on-view of identification, the primary identification, in film has been explained that the audience identifies with camera's point-of view, in game one identifies with various point-of-views. There are two aspects of Identification of characters in game. First, gamers identify themselves with moving images on screen. Second, They identify with the roles given to themselves. The factors which allow them identification are suppression of false statement system, interpolation and process of selection, arrangement, a cursor, colours on screen.

  • The quality of service for the voice and data communication is one of the most important elements in the mobile cellular networks. This quality has the time varying characteristics depending on the wireless network environments. In order to guarantee the quality of service at the predefined level, the mobile service provider needs to collect all the information about the level of quality served by the local base stations. In the conventional method the information on the service quality is measured and collected by the moving vehicle adopting the global positioning device. However this method requires relatively high cost and does not cover all the service areas. In this paper a new method is proposed utilizing a measurement node with local area communication transceiver and the mobile user equipment. In the proposed method the node communicates with the user equipment periodically to monitor the information on the service quality. The resulting information is reported to the measurement server in the mobile network. This method could be applied to either the circuit or the packet based networks. It also has an advantage in terms of the cost efficiency compared to the conventional method considering the required the equipment and the human resources.

Stiffness Analysis of a Low-DOF Parallel Manipulator including the Elastic Deformations of Both Joints and Links (ICCAS 2005)

  • This paper presents a stiffness analysis method for a low-DOF parallel manipulator, which takes into account of elastic deformations of joints and links. A low-DOF parallel manipulator is defined as a spatial parallel manipulator which has less than six degrees of freedom. Differently from the case of a 6-DOF parallel manipulator, the serial chains in a low-DOF parallel manipulator are subject to constraint forces as well as actuation forces. The reaction forces due to actuations and constraints in each limb can be determined by making use of the theory of reciprocal screws. It is shown that the stiffness model of an F-DOF parallel manipulator consists of F springs related to the reciprocal screws of actuations and 6-F springs related to the reciprocal screws of constraints, which connect the moving platform to the fixed base in parallel. The $6{times}6$ stiffness matrix is derived, which is the sum of the stiffness matrices of actuations and constraints. The six spring constants can be precisely determined by modeling the compliance of joints and links in a serial chain as follows; the link can be considered as an Euler beam and the stiffness matrix of rotational or prismatic joint can be modeled as a $6{times}6$ diagonal matrix, where one diagonal element about the rotation axis or along the sliding direction is zero. By summing the elastic deformations in joints and links, the compliance matrix of a serial chain is obtained. Finally, applying the reciprocal screws to the compliance matrix of a serial chain, the compliance values of springs can be determined. As an example of explaining the procedure, the stiffness of the Tricept parallel manipulator has been analyzed.

  • The aerial photographic mission is a difficult work because aircraft must be flown along the specified flight lines, not marked on the ground. This study has been carried out for the development of aerial photographic guidance system, which enables us to make aerial photographic task easier. Such a flight guidance system is able to display a variety of map informations in a quick and efficient way in order to guide pilot. For this purpose, we first developed the nationwide aerial navigation map database that provides the topographic map information used for topographic interpretation and aeronautical chart information used for the flight security. Next, we developed the aerial photographic guidance system which uses the aerial navigation map as base map. It is concluded that the developed system can display the various map informations quickly and do any other photographing guidance tasks well in fast moving airplane.

  • In this paper, we propose multiple IS-MMBS service schemes for very low power and micro-size RMIMS (radio-interfaced micro information monitoring system) terminals. In MMBS service area, when new arrival RMIMS terminals have real-time traffic characteristic or large traffic bandwidth, only single IS-MMBS service scheme can not guarantee RMIMS terminal's QoS(quality of service) such as buffer overflow or packet loss. In this case, the proposed multiple IS-MMBS service schemes can be effectively used for QoS service of RMIMS terminal. According to clustering method of RMIMS terminals and MMBS segment method, the proposed schemes can be divided into terminal segment method, region segment method, application based segment method, traffic type based segment method, overlapping segment method and hybrid segment method

  • The main purpose of these studies were to clarify differences in Cheju - scoria and other solid media on quantity and quality of cherry tomatoes and on shift of component of the nutrient solution, and to use Practically Cheju-scoria as an excellent solid culture medium. The results obtained were summarized as follows ; 1. Among scoria plots, the rates of dry weights, fruits and their sugar-acid ratio were higher in the plot that was drained well with deep flow for one hour once a day. 2. Fresh fruit weights were lighter in rockwool and deep flow technique, but larger in scoria, Hyugashi (artificial gravel, $\Phi$10-12mm) and perlite in moving to higher flower cluster. 3. The results of analysis on microelement among solution components showed decrease of concentrations of P and K in the period of growth and development. 4. Yields and brix of cherry tomato showed a tendency to increase in rockwool and Hyugashi than anothers. 5. The concentration of fertilizer base was increased in general solution culture. Transpiration and absorption were similar in scoria plot and other media. 6. More studies of the Cheju-scoria development is required in order to use it as a solid medium for solution culture.

  • This study was to provide the fundamental data for a scientific and rational clothing construction by investigating the variation of the upper body surface with the use of the method of Surgical tape. The subject were 3 middle elementary schoolboys classified standard somatotype, and arm-movements were consisted of 6 types. The statistical analyses used in this study were mean, standard deviation and the ANOVA and LSD procedure. Shoulder point was moved to be the inside or upside and the shape of the armhole-line was differently changed as the arm-movement become larger. By moving to upside of the anterior armpit point, posterior armpit point and armpit point, the increase of the side seam length and the ascent of the line of width between armpits were distinct. And by arm-movements, in the items of horizontal, front neck base girth, back upper bust girth, back bust girth and back waist girth were increased and the other standard lines were apt to be decreased. In the items of vertical, all standard lines of front side and side seam length showed increased, back waist length and back length showed decreased. The variation of armhole was indefinite. In the rate of the variation, the shoulder length showed the maximum rate of contraction by 41.3%, decreasing 3.7 cm in $180^{\circ}$ degrees, and the side seam length showed the maximum rate of expansion by 60.6%, increasing 8.97 cm in the same degrees.
