MULTIPLICITY RESULT OF THE SOLUTIONS FOR A CLASS OF THE ELLIPTIC SYSTEMS WITH SUBCRITICAL SOBOLEV EXPONENTS

  • This paper is devoted to investigate the multiple solutions for a class of the cooperative elliptic system involving subcritical Sobolev exponents on the bounded domain with smooth boundary. We first show the uniqueness and the negativity of the solution for the linear system of the problem via the direct calculation. We next use the variational method and the mountain pass theorem in the critical point theory.

  • We consider the nonlinear biharmonic equation with coefficient exponential growth term and Dirichlet boundary condition. We show that the nonlinear equation has at least one bounded solution under the suitable conditions. We obtain this result by the variational method, generalized mountain pass theorem and the critical point theory of the associated functional.

  • We investigate the existence of solutions of the nonlinear biharmonic equation with variable coefficient polynomial growth nonlinear term and Dirichlet boundary condition. We get a theorem which shows that there exists a bounded solution and a large norm solution depending on the variable coefficient. We obtain this result by variational method, generalized mountain pass geometry and critical point theory.

  • We investigate the multiple nontrivial solutions of the asymmetric beam equation $u_{tt}+u_{xxxx}=b_1[{(u + 2)}^+-2]+b_2[{(u + 3)}^+-3]$ with Dirichlet boundary condition and periodic condition on t. We reduce this problem into a two-dimensional problem by using variational reduction method and apply the Mountain Pass theorem to find the nontrivial solutions of the equation.

  • We find the multiple nontrivial solutions of the equation of the form $u_{tt}-u_{xx}=b_1[(u+1)^{+}-1]+b_2[(u+2)^{+}-2]$ with Dirichlet boundary condition. Here we reduce this problem into a two-dimensional problem by using variational reduction method and apply the Mountain Pass theorem to find the nontrivial solutions.

  • We investigate the multiplicity of the solutions for a class of the system of the biharmonic equations with some singular potential nonlinearity. We obtain a theorem which shows the existence of the nontrivial weak solution for a class of the system of the biharmonic equations with singular potential nonlinearity and Dirichlet boundary condition. We obtain this result by using variational method and the generalized mountain pass theorem.

  • 최근의 엘리뇨와 라니냐 등 이상기온현상과 이에 따른 산불발생빈도의 증가는 산지사면의 안정성에 대한 산불의 영향을 고려해보게 되는 계기가 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 산불로 인한 식생의 파괴에 따른 자연사면 안정성에 미치는 정도를 규명하고, 산불에 따른 사면의 안정성을 평가하는 방법을 제시하여 산불로 인하여 발생될 수 있는 피해를 최소화하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 논문에서는 산불로 인한 산지사면 식생의 변화가 사면 안정성에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 분석하였고, 그 결과로 산불의 영향을 고려한 사면안정도표를 제안하였다.

Risk Tolerance of Small-to-Medium Enterprise Owners and Operators Towards Capital Markets: Evidence from the Philippines

  • The purpose of this research was to determine the degree to which Small-to-Medium Enterprise (SME) owners and operators in Mountain Province were willing to take on financial risk to invest in the capital markets as a potential additional source of income, as well as the extent to which these five indicator variables-particularly their income, expenses, financial goals, liquid cash, and insurance coverage-were influenced by demographic factors. The study used a quantitative approach and employed a descriptive survey research method. The results show that the SME Owners and Operators in Mountain Province have minimal knowledge of capital market investments which makes them moderate investors with a neutral level of financial risk tolerance toward capital market investment. Their marital status, net income, and educational attainment significantly influence their financial risk tolerance level. The respondents also believe that engaging in the capital markets will grow their businesses. Further, the extent of influence of Income, Expenses, Liquid Cash, and Insurance Cover on the financial risk tolerance of the SME owners and operators in Mountain Province a great extent; thus, making them careful in investing in the capital markets, and it is primarily affected by their Net Income. Consequently, the financial goals of SME owners and operators in Mountain Province have a vital role in their financial risk tolerance level.

Shear anchor behavior and design of an embedded concrete rack rail track for mountain trains

  • In this study, a novel mountain train system was developed that can run along a steep gradient of 180 ‰ and sharp curve with a minimum radius of 10 m. For this novel mountain train, an embedded precast concrete rack rail track was implemented to share the track with an automobile road and increase constructability in mountainous regions. The embedded rack rail track is connected to a hydraulically stabilized base (HSB) layer with shear anchors, which must have sufficient longitudinal resistance because they bear most of the traction forces originated from the rack rail and longitudinal loads owing to the steep gradient. In addition, the damage to the shear anchor parts, including the surrounding concrete, must be strictly limited under the service load because the maintenance of shear anchors inside the track is extremely difficult after installation. In this study, the focus was made on the shear anchor behavior and design an embedded rack rail track, considering the serviceability and ultimate limit states. Accordingly, the design loads for mountain trains were established, and the serviceability criteria of the anchor were proposed. Subsequently, the resistance and damage of the shear anchors were evaluated and analyzed based on the results of several finite element analyses. Finally, the design method of the shear anchors for the embedded rack rail track was established and verified.

부산시 산지경관 관리를 위한 건축물 높이 규제 방법에 관한 연구: 황령산 산림스카이라인을 중심으로 (Busan building height regulations for the management of mountain landscape: focused on the skyline of Hwangreung Mountain)

  • 최근 부산시내 자연경관이 양호한 지역에 고층건물들이 무분별하게 들어서 도시경관의 핵심이 되는 산림스카이라인을 깨트리는 동시에 도시 내 녹시율을 심각하게 떨어뜨리고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 도시민들의 삶의 질과 도시경관의 쾌적성을 향상시키고 도시의 녹시율을 높이기 위해서는 산림스카이라인의 효율적인 관리방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 기존 산림스카이라인의 관리를 위한 건축물 고도규제 수단으로 사용하는 시곡면 분석의 문제점을 보안할 수 있는 GIS를 활용한 다중시곡면 분석과 건축물 높이에 큰 영향을 미치는 용적률을 비교 분석하여 건축물의 높이 규제 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 연구의 공간적 대상은 부산시 남구 대연동 주변 주거지역을 대상으로 하였으며, 분석방법에 있어서 다중 조망점 선정을 통하여 객관성을 확보하는 동시에 효율성을 높였다. 또한 주요지점에서 시뮬레이션결과를 반영함으로써 종합적인 경관계획이 가능하게 하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 산림지역의 지리적 여건에 맞추어 산림스카이라인 보호를 위한 건축물의 높이 규제의 방안을 제안하였다.
