Analysis of Characteristics of a Single-phase Induction Motor by changing of Conductor-bar number (단상유도전동기의 도체바 개수 변경에 따른 특성해석)

  • This paper deals with the characteristics of a capacitor-run single-phase induction motor by changing of conductor bar numbers. The Finite Element Method (FEM) is used to analyze the starting characteristics according to the rotor initial starting point about conduction bar and the characteristic analysis at the rated condition is calculated by equivalent circuit based on symmetry coordinate theory Finally, the analysis results of the analysis models have different conductor bars in their rotor are compared.

  • Line-start motor has ability to start itself without using other methods, so, it is important to predict starting performance accurately. In this paper, the starting characteristics of single-phase capacitor-start, capacitor-run line-start motor was calculated by combination of d-q axis voltage equations and mechanical dynamic equations. D-q axis inductances of this machine varied with current phase angle and amplitude are considered. The validity of analysis method verified by comparing to test results.

  • Every engineering discipline has, in recent year, felt the impact of computer-aided analysis and design Normally the studies of power system analysis by computer are load flow, short circuit and harmonic calculation, the amount the voltage deviates from motor starting, reliability and system stability. These studies are very important from the operating and planning points of power system. This paper presents analysis of load flow, short circuit current calculation, the effect for voltage deviation of induction motor starting and harmonic distortion in power system of continuous casting(C. C) plant. The resulting of analysis is applied the configuration and design engineering of power system.

  • 공업기술의 발전에 따라 전동기의 용도도 다양화되고 기계의 기진 정상 정전에서 역전으로 바꾸는것을 기계적 방법보다 전동기의 기동제동 plugging운전방법으로 이송할 때 기계의 고효율화, 기구의 간소화가 된다. 그러나 이러한 다송운전이 빈번할 때 일반전동기로서는 신뢰도가 문제가 되므로, 이 용도에 적합한 특성을 가지는 운동기를 개정함으로서 신뢰도가 높도록 해야 한다. 이런 종류의 용도로 사용되는 용형전동기로서는 특성상 기동 Torque, 가속 Torque가 크고 단시간에 기동하며 Plugging에 적합하고 Dynamic Brake에도 지장이 없어야 하며, 온도상승의 점에서는 기동중에 1차동손이 적고 2차고저항인것이 요구된다. 또 구조상에서는 Inertia가 작으며 급속한 기동이 제일 먼저 요구된다. 만약 기동중에 발열하는 부분의 열용량이 크며 부하 Inertia도 커서 기동시간이 수10초를 걸린다면 국부적으로 대단히 높은 온도상승을 하게 되고, 가혹한 Plugging운전을 하는 경우는 열적 및 기계적으로 고도의 신뢰성이 요구된다. 이에 적합한 Cycle Starting Motor를 시작하여 본 결과를 경험을 토대로 다목적으로 연구검토하여 여기에 소개하고자 한다.

  • This paper describes the variable speed drive of an induction motor by the line commutated inverter, which is operated in the forced commutation mode from start-up to operating point of load commutation. A novel forced-commutation circuit is proposed in this paper. The selection range of leading condenser to decide load commutation starting point is simulated by the sampling data of a general purpose IM and a high speed IM. The experiment to drive IM by a line commutated inverter with the proposed forced commutated circuits is performed. There was no problem in driving IM from standstill to starting point of load commutation by a line commutated inverter with forced commutation.

  • Permanent magnet synchronous motors are mainly used in the traction of electric vehicle and home application products including air-conditioners and refrigerators. For sensorless control without rotor position sensors, I-F control is applied for initial starting at low speeds, and mode is changed to sensorless control when the rotor speed is sufficiently accelerated for estimating rotor position. When the mode is changed to the sensorless control from the open-loop starting, the initial integral value of the speed controller should be considered by load condition; otherwise, the transition to sensorless control may fail. The sensorless transfer algorithm of PM synchronous motor based on load condition for smooth transition is proposed. The performance of the proposed sensorless transfer algorithm was verified by experiments.

  • A single phase induction motor (SPIM) rated in fractional horsepower is widely used in home and industrial equipment: washing machines, fans, refrigerators, etc. In this paper, authors present the experimental results of the SPIM under controlling of currents of main and auxiliary windings by using a one-chip micro stator(OMS). This new starting method is developed to replace the conventional starting device consisted with a mechanical switch and a capacitor. In mentioned method, the soft-starting of SPIM is simply implemented and higher efficiency is obtained in comparison with conventional condenser type SPIM.

  • This paper introduces Flux-Reversal Machine(FRM) and presents the design of a single phase FRM to improve its starting torque. The effects of the design parameters on the characteristic and starting torque are analyzed by Finite Element Method(FEM). The considered design parameters are tapered airgap, stewed airgap, asymmetric PM width and slotted teeth. As a result, we can find the best model in producing starting torque of a single phase 2/3 FRM

  • Generally a single-phase SRM(switched reluctance motor) has several stator and rotor poles but these are excited by one regulated current at the same time. It has only one inductance variation. It means that the positive torque is only generated in the positive slope of the inductance variation. The single-phase SRM can not be started by itself. The single-phase SRM can be started by itself if the rotor is placed in the positive slope of the inductance variation. Then, the starting device is required to place the rotor in the starting position before start. On this paper, the equation of the force requisite for the starting device is derived using by the frictional force of the rotor

  • The single phase induction motor is recently requested to meet a broad speed control and smooth forward and reverse operation due to the multifarious usages. This paper deals with two phase operation of a two winding motor by reference current adaptive inverter which can supply the currents to satisfy the balanced oeration into the main and auxiliary winding through the entire operational region. According to the roposed system, the starting, forward and reverse and variable speed control of a two winding motor eliminated the capacitor from the capacitor-run motor is also possible. The formation and its principle of the reference current adaptive inverter and characteristic analysis of the motor fed by this apparatus are described in this paper. Excellent agreement with the measured results and calculated values by computer simulation is obtained.
