This study was designed to compare the effects of individual sensory integration treatments on the improvement of motor skills and group psychomotorik activities that produce a wide range of interactions with peers. The research targets two 4-year-old children, who are currently in the main building, and 40 minutes of psychomotorik and sensory integration treatment were applied to them twice a week from April 2017 to January 2018. The study method used assessment tools such as B-O test, DeGangi-Berk Test of Sensory Integration (TSI), and MOT4-6 respectively. The results of the study showed that programs in both areas had positive effects on motor skills, with significantly improved performance in balance and postural control, in particular.
Objectives This case study was about a Taeeumin patient with advanced Parkinson's disease diagnosed as Dry-heat symptomatic pattern. In this study, we reported significant improvement of motor and non-motor symptoms of this patient after Sasang constitutional medicine treatment. Methods The patient was diagnosed with Taeeumin Dry-heat symptomatic pattern and treated with Taeeumin's constitutional medications and acupuncture. The primary outcome measure for this study is Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS) to assess the overall function of patient. Secondary outcome assessments include Global Assessment Scale(GAS), change of patient's sleep, stool and urine. Results and Conclusions The patient treated with Taeeumin's constitutional medications and acupuncture had reduction in UPDRS (specifically Part II, Part III and Part IV) and GAS of motor symptoms. Furthermore, patient's sleep, stool and urine were reported to be normal after treatment. In conclusion, this study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for Taeeumin patient with Advanced Parkinson's disease diagnosed as Dry-heat symptomatic pattern.
Purpose: This is designed to study the effect of weight-support walking training through motor learning on motor functions of children with cerebral palsy, in particular their activity of daily living and balance. Methods: Thirteen children with spastic cerebral palsy, at gross motor function classification system (GMFCS) levels III~IV, underwent treadmill walking training. It used principles of weight support, 4 times a week for 7 weeks, 10 minutes at a time, before and after neurodevelopmental physical therapy. Everyday functions were measured using Functional Independence Measure for Children (Wee-FIM). The ability to keep their balance was measured using electronic measuring equipment from good balance system and the assessment was made before and after the experiment. Results: There were significant differences (p<0.05) between pre and post experiment levels of functional independence in everyday life, in self-care activities, mobility, locomotion and social cognition. With regard to changes in standing balance, there were significant differences before and after the experiment (p<0.05) in GMFCS level III. There was a reduction in the agitation velocity in the x- and y-axes which measures the left-to-right shaking; in GMFCS level IV, velocity moment was reduced. Conclusion: Walking training using a treadmill can help improve the everyday activity and balance in children with spastic cerebral palsy. It can also be served as a useful purpose as a method of intervention in pediatric care.
This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of oxygen on motor activity and toxicity in male mice. The modified Porsolt forced swim test (FST) was used and the distance and time of movement by mice were analyzed in 15。C water bath for 20 minutes using the automatic Ethovision videotracking system. Analyses were carried out before and after 20 minutes of exposure to 10%-70% concentration of normobaric oxygen. The effects of inspired oxygen tension on the distance and time of movement showed the similar trends, but changes in distance were more prominent. Both the distance and time of movement increased after exposure to 30% and 40% oxygen concentration. The distance and time of movement also increased upon exposure to 50% and 60% oxygen. In contrast, increases En movement and time under exposure to 21% oxygen concentration were suppressed when exposed to over 50% oxygen concentration. With exposure to 10% oxygen, there was a significant decrease in the distance of movement and a slight suppression of movement time. During the swim test, 12.5%, 37.5%, and 87.5% of the mice drowned after exposure to 10%, 60%, and 70% oxygen concentration, respectively. These results suggest that motor activity can be enhanced by inspired oxygen up to 40% concentration. When hypoxic and hyperoxic oxygen exposure over 50%, motor activity is reduced and toxicity may be induced.
In this study, we evaluated the EEG based BCI algorithm using common spatial pattern to find realistic applicability using neurofeedback EEG based BCI algorithm - EEG mode, feature vector calculation, the number of selected channels, 3 types of classifier, window size is evaluated for 10 subjects. The experimental results have been evaluated depending on conditioned experiment whether neurofeedback is used or not In case of using neurofeedback, a few subjects presented exceptional but general tendency presented the performance improvement Through this study, we found a motivation of development for the specific classifier based BCI system and the assessment evaluation system. We proposed a need for an optimized algorithm applicable to the robust motor imagery evaluation system with more useful functionalities.

A bulkhead-type pulse separation device has been developed for the multi-pulse rocket motor. The design parameters of the pulse separation device were the shape of the rupture disc slit, welding conditions, and the implementation of the seal disc. The pneumatic tests of the fabricated pulse separation devices showed that the rupture pressure increased as the quantity of the rupture disc slit and welding strength increased and the seal disc was implemented.

Objectives: Existing cardiovascular simulators are used to evaluate artificial organs such as artificial hearts, prosthetic valves, and artificial blood vessels, and pulses are typically triggered using artificial hearts. However, the forms of pulse waves vary according to the location of arteries, and for precise assessment of artificial blood vessels, the development of simulators that generate diverse pressure pulse waves is necessary. This study developed a novel cardiovascular simulator that generates different forms of pulse waves. Methods: This simulator consists of a stepping motor, a slider-crank mechanism that transforms the rotation movement of a motor into the straight-line motion of a piston, a piston that generates pulsatile flows, a water tank that supplies fluids, an elastic tube made of silicon, and a device that adjusts the terminal resistance of fluids. Results & Conclusion: This study examined motor rotation and its operation under conditions similar to the physiological conditions of the heart. The simulator developed in this study produced diverse forms of waves, and the generated pressure waves well satisfied physiological conditions.
Background: The purpose of the present study was to determine correlations between the Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Modified Barthel Index(MBI), Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE) and Fugl-Meyer motor function Assessment(FMA) in persons with strokes. Methods: We recruited 77 stroke patients from the Seoul Bukbu Geriatric Hospital in Seoul, Korea. Balance was measured by BBS. Activity of Daily Living was assessed using MBI. Cognitive function was examined using MMSE. Motor Recovery was measured using FMA. Data was analyzed using Pearson' correlation. Resurts: There were a statistically significant correlation between BBS and MBI, BBS and MMES, BBS and FMA upper extremity, BBS and FMA lower extremity. There were a statistically significant correlation between MBI and MMSE, MBI and FMA upper extremity, MBI and FMA lower extremity. There were a statistically significant correlated between FMA upper extremity and FMA lower extremity. Conclusions: This study will help rehabilitation program for stroke patients and will be the reference data for selection of therapy and evaluation method.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the criterion-related validity of the Berg balance test between fallers and non-fallers in individuals with Parkinson's disease. Methods : Thirty-one patients were recruited for this study. Their initial diagnosis had been made on average $30.1{\pm}10.1$ years earlier. Score of Berg balance test showed significant correlations with indicators of motor functioning and daily living capacity. Berg balance test score was inversely associated with the unified Parkinson's disease rating scale-motor score, and Schwab and England activities of daily living rating scale. Results : In all 3 correlations, lower scores on the Berg balance test correlated with higher unified Parkinson's disease rating scale-motor scores. Results support the criterion-related validity of the Berg balance test. Conclusion : Our research results agree with other published research in suggesting that the Berg balance test may be used as a screening tool and ongoing assessment tool for patients with Parkinson's disease.
The purposes of this survey are to investigate which inventory are used to assess the disables children, to give information and basic data for developing new inventory for disabled children. 1. 8 institutes (40 %) have no test or evaluate tools. 2. Number of tools of rehabilitation institutes have more than hospital. 3. 86.8% of tools are made in United States. 4. 52.2 % of tools do not test validity and reliability 5. 43.5% of tools are tested for gross and fine motor functions. 6. The interval of reassesstment are very irregulary(43.5 %). So, We suggest that Korean physical therapist should be made tools which is tested motor, perception and cognition with validity and relability for CNS dysfuntion patients.
