  • This paper investigates the dq current trajectory for maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) operation of an interior PM synchronous motor for HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle). Based on the dq current trajectory for the MTPA operation derived from the motor parameters, the change of the MTPA operating point for the variation of the motor parameters including the magnet flux and the dq inductances is considered. The dq current trajectory for MTPA operation is verified through the experiment.

  • Flux linkage of phase windings is a key parameter in determining the behavior of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) [1-8]. Therefore, the accurate prediction of flux linkage at aligned and unaligned rotor positions makes a significant contribution to the design of an SRM and its analytical approach is not straightforward due to nonlinear saturation in flux. Although several different approaches using a finite element analysis (FEA) or a curve-fitting tool have been employed to compute phase flux linkage [2-5], they are not suitable for a simple design procedure because the FEA necessitates a large amount of time in both modeling and solving with complexity for every motor design, and the curve-fitting requires the data of flux linkage from either an experimental test or an FEA simulation. In this paper, phase flux linkage at aligned and unaligned rotor positions is estimated by means of a reluctance network, and the proposed approach is analytically verified in terms of accuracy compared to FEA.

  • A improving sensorless compensator for the IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) drive system is proposed. Generally, the motor drive system is required the robust parameter variation and disturbance. The speed estimation methods of the conventional IRP(Instantaneous Reactive Power) compensator is improved by the speed estimation techniques of the current model observer with the proposed instantaneous reactive power compensator. Performance evaluations of the novel speed error compensator and sensorless control system are carried out by the experiments.

  • In this paper, the new claw pole type linear stepping motor(CPLSM) is proposed. And the magnetic equivalent circuit of CPLSM is derived by the structure of the CPLSM. The design parameter and the magnetic flux density of CPLSM are performed with three-dimensional finite element method.

  • This paper describes a fully digitalized driver for BLDC motors and the driver is realized by a single chip microprocessor. The speed change can be done by using the signal obtained from the position detecting sensor and adjusting the pulse width at the input channel of power module. In order to verify the effectiveness, an repetitive control method is adopted in the speed control tracking a periodic reference change in the BLDC motor system. The experimental results are shown for the reference tracking accurately according to the design parameter variation in the repetitive controller design.

  • In general, unstable phenomena of induction motor are oftenly appeared at low speed and light load. This paper discribes eigenic unstable regions of I.M. itself by computer simulations and the results are compared to experimental ones. And also the optimal design parameters of I.M. which the unstable reg ion can be minimized are determined.

  • A new control method for DC motor position control with variable structure is presented. The proposed method uses the desired trajectory with optimal input satisfying the given performance requirement as the switching curve and is insensitive to parameter variation and disturbance. To show the validity of the proposed method, digital computer simulation is performed. And the result is compared with that of the optimal state feedback.

  • An improved nonlinear speed control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) is presented. A quasi-linearized and decoupled model including the influence of parameter variations and speed measurement error on the nonlinear speed control of a PMSM is derived. Using this model, to overcome the drawbacks of conventional nonlinear control scheme, the improved nonlinear control scheme that employs time delay control(TDC) is proposed. To show the validity of the proposed control scheme, simulation studies are carried out and compared with the conventional control scheme.

  • This paper proposes that optimal design using GA of BLDC motor. To estimate this optimal design method, the performance characteristics of BLDC motor is computed by the equivalent magnetic circuit network method and FEM. To estimate especially the dynamic characteristics of BLDC, we compute the parameter of electrical circuit using FEM.

  • In this paper, It is introduced to electromagnetic sound by AC motor and example of application by experiments. And Through adjusting some design parameter related to Mass, Damping coefficient and Stiffness of the system, we could find best design point to reduce motor total noise as well as noise component at AC power frequency (2f).
