A study on optimum temperature depending on resin of injection molded parts (사출 성형품의 수지에 따른 최적의 온도에 대한 연구)

  • For optimal injection molding, various molding conditions should be combined well. Therefore, engineers should be thoroughly familiar with mold design, fabrication, and injection molding. The choice of resin among the various molding conditions is closely related to the productivity of the molded part and the deformation after molding, so the engineer must select the appropriate resin. Engineers work on the basis of data provided by resin manufacturers during molding. However, in actual molding work, it is necessary to apply values slightly different from those provided to obtain molded articles of desired performance. In this study, various deformations of molded products were compared with respect to crystalline resin and amorphous resin when molded according to the data provided by the resin maker and molded at the changed values at the work site.

  • Recently, the life cycle of products is rapidly shortened and then the W s a l of the used mold applied in development of a product is a difficult things. In this study, we proposed a feasibility of the recycling mold base by analyzing of the existing standard mold base. And we developed a D/B program to promote the mold design capability with CAD. Also, we confirmed the possibility of recycling mold base by testing of a used automobile lamp mold.

  • The effects of injection molding conditions on the uniformity and brightness of light guide plate(LGP) with micro-patterns were investigated in the present study. An injection molding system for stampers with mirco-pattern was designed and manufactured to perform experiment. Variations of injection molding speed, mold and melt temperature for LGP were considered in this work. Also, injection molding characteristics of LGP were investigated by numerical analysis using plastic injection molding commercial code. It was shown that injection molding conditions such as injection speed, melt temperature and mold temperature can have an effect on the uniformity and brightness of light guide plate.

  • The residual birefringence in molded plastic parts can be divided into two kinds of residual birefringence, i.e., the flow induced residual birefringence produced in flowing stages and the thermally induced residual birefringence produced in cooling stage. In this paper, the effect of new injection-press molding process with normal injection mold, i.e. I) injection-compression mode, ii) injection-press mode, on the distribution of birefringence was studied. It was found that the values of the birefringence was reduced at i) low clamping force and ii) longer mold opening length by injection-press molding.

  • In design of the plastic injection mold, most of drawings are composed of basic entities. It is very easy to produce many kinds of drawings by Group Technology. Group Technology is a technique In which part similarities are used to classify parts into part families according to either geometric shape and size or processing requirements. Almost data for the mold are decided during the assembly design. A system which shows a good interfaces between the design stage and producing part exploding Is developed using AutoCAD system and data conversion technique.

  • In design stage of a plastic injection mold, basic entities of various kinds are introduced under the concept of Group Technology to produce a full drawings of the mold more effectively Most of the entity data should be extracted from the assembly drawing by pattern matching technique. An automated design system is developed using the extracted data of entities and thus shows a good interfaces between the design stage and producing part explosion without any manual conversion procedure under the AutoCAD environment.
