Previous studies have been focused on the voltage of Bypass diode and Isc(Short Circuit Current) of the influenced solar cell. The Bypass diode starts working when it gets the reverse applied voltage. Previous studies have only concentrated on Isc of the influenced solar cell and Imp of PV module to explain the bypassing performance. PV module is usually working together with inverter having MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) function for best performance. bypassing point is regulated by MPPT function of inverter. In this paper, simulation results of Bypass diode in PV module have been analyzed to represent the relationship of the bypassing point with the composition of PV module. From the results, the more cells are connected with each string, the earlier bypassing performance happens under the fixed number of strings. As diode groups increase or irradiation decreases, the bypassing performance starts fast.
ZnO-based varistors have been widely used for voltage stabilization or transient surge suppression in electric power systems and electronic circuits. Recently, It has reported that the varistor behavior with nonlinear coefficient of 6~17 in Mn-doped ZnO. In this study we have chosen the composition of ZnO-$TeO_2-Mn_3O_4$ (ZTM) system to the purpose of whether varistor behavior appeared in doped ZnO by the solid state sintering or not. We investigated the sintering and electric properties of 0.5~3.0 at% Mn doped ZnO-1.0 at% $TeO_2$ system. Electrical properties, such as current-voltage (I-V), capacitance-voltage (C-V), and impedance spectroscopy were conducted. $TeO_2$ itself melts at $732^{\circ}C$ in air but forms the $ZnTeO_3$ phase with ZnO as increasing temperature and therefore retards the densification of ZnO to $1000^{\circ}C$. The average grain size of sintered samples was at about $3{\mu}m$ and decreased with increasing Mn contents. It was found that a good varistor characteristics were developed in ZTM system sintered at $1100^{\circ}C$ (nonlinear coefficient $\alpha$ ~ 60). The results of C-V characteristics such as barrier height ($\Theta$), donor density ($N_d$), depletion layer (W), and interface state density ($N_t$) in ZTM ceramics were $4\times10^{17}cm^{-3}$, 0.7 V, 40 nm, and $1.6\times10^{12}cm^{-2}$, respectively. It will be discussed about the stability and homogeneity of grain boundaries using distribution parameter ($\alpha$) simulated with the Z(T)"-logf plots in ZTM system.
Sustainable energy supplies without the recharging and replacement of the charge storage device have become increasingly important. Among various energy harvesters, the triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has attracted considerable attention due to its high instantaneous output power, broad selection of available materials, eco-friendly and inexpensive fabrication process, and various working modes customized for target applications. In this study, the amount of voltage and current generated was measured by applying the PSD profile random vibration test of the electronic vibration tester and ISTA 3A according to the time of Anodized Aluminum Oxide (AAO) pore widening of the manufactured TENG device Teflon and AAO. The discharge and charging tests of the integrated module during the random simulated transport environment and the recognition distance of RFID were measured while agricultural products (onion) were loaded into the returnable folding plastic box. As a result, it was found that AAO alumina etching processing time to maximize TENG performance was optimal at 31 min in terms of voltage and current generation, and the integrated module applied with the TENG module showed a charging effect even during the continuous use of RFID, so the voltage was kept constant without discharge. In addition, the RFID recognition distance of the integrated module was measured as a maximum of 1.4 m. Therefore, it was found that the surface condition of AAO, a TENG element, has a great influence on the power generation of the integrated module, and due to the characteristics of TENG, the power generation increases as the surface dries, so it is judged that the power generation can be increased if the surface drying treatment (ozone treatment, etc.) of AAO is applied in the future.

This paper represents a design and implementation of a digital controller for a multi-phase synchronous buck converter (SBC) using a digital signal processor (DSP). The multi-phase SBC has generally been used for a voltage regulation module (VRM) of a microprocessor because of its high current handling capability at a low output voltage. The VRM requires high control performance of tight output regulation, high slew rate, and load sharing capability of multiple converters. In order to achieve these requirements, the design and implementation of a digital control system for a multi-phase SBC are presented in this paper. The digital PWM generation, current sensing, and voltage and current controller using a DSP TMS320F2812 are considered. The experimental results are provided to show the validity of the implemented digital control system.
This paper reported the experimental results of the 2 stage converter using a Buck converter and a soft switching dc-to-dc converter that employs two separate transformers. A 2 stage converter module is designed with the specifications of an 3.3V output voltage, 20A output current, 66W output power and 36-75V input voltage. A prototype converter module is successfully implemented within 85.2% efficiency and 3% voltage regulation for the entire input voltage range, thereby demonstrating its application potentials to future telecommunication electronics.

This paper proposes a new NLC (Nearest Level Control) scheme for MMCs (Modular Multilevel Converters), which offers voltage ripple reductions in the DC capacitor of the SM (Sub-Module), the output voltage harmonics, and the switching losses. The feasibility of the proposed NLC was verified through computer simulations. Based on these simulation results, a hardware prototype of a 10kVA, DC-1000V MMC was manufactured in the lab. Experiments were conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed NLC in an actual hardware environment. The experimental results were consistent with the results obtained from the computer simulations.
This paper presents a high-efficiency power conditioning system (PCS) for grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) modules. The proposed PCS consists of a step-up DC-DC converter and a single-phase DC-AC inverter for the grid-connected PV modules. A soft-switching step-up DC-DC converter is proposed to generate a high DC-link voltage from the low PV module voltage with a high-efficiency. A DC-link voltage controller is presented for constant DC-link voltage regulation. A half-bridge inverter is used for the single-phase DC-AC inverter for grid connection. A grid current controller is suggested to supply PV electrical power to the power grid with a unity power factor. Experimental results are obtained from a 180 W grid-connected PV module system using the proposed PCS. The proposed PCS achieves a high power efficiency of 93.0 % with an unity power factor for a 60 Hz / 120 Vrms AC power grid.
Semiconductor devices can be series stacked for the application of high voltage switching. It can provide high reliability and long lifetime by the safe design with a reasonable margin. The equal voltage distribution at solid-state switches in series should be guaranteed. Static and dynamic voltage division, over current protection must be considered carefully in the design stage. A fast switching thyristor is a good candidate for the high power pulse applications. A high voltage switching module is designed and tested. Its specifications are working voltage of 70 kV, switching pulse width of 120${\mu}s$, peak switching current of 220A, maximum repetition rate of 200pps. The module can be series connected to get higher working voltage. This paper presents the design details and the test results are compared with expected circuit simulations.

A new high efficiency phase shifted full bridge (PSFB) converter for the power sustaining module of a plasma display panel (PDP) is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter employs a voltage doubler rectifier without an output inductor. Since it has no output inductor, the voltage stresses of the secondary rectifier diodes can be clamped at the output voltage level. No dissipative resistor-capacitor (RC) snubber for rectifier diodes is needed. Therefore, high efficiency, as well as, a low noise output voltage can be realized. Due to the elimination of the large output inductor, it features a simple structure, lower cost, smaller mass and lighter weight. Furthermore, the proposed converter has wide zero voltage switching (ZVS) ranges with low current stresses of the primary switches. Also the resonance between the leakage inductor of the transformer and the capacitor of the voltage doubler cell reduces the current stresses of the rectifier diodes. In this paper, operational principles, an analysis of the proposed converter and experimental results are presented.
