  • From the Korean War in 1950 to the end of the 1960s, the traditional feudal residue which had been prevalent in our society was disrupted and suddenly replaced with modem western order. Family ethics were also to be changed, so that western family ethics replaced those of confucian ones. This is part of a study that examines the flow of family ethics from ancient families to modem families to find out the stem of Korean family ethics. Since there are almost no existing studies that have dealt this topic, newspaper, magazine and also interviews with the people of thus era were very helpful to this study along with the related books and papers. On account of limited space, this study focused in the first place on husband-wife ethics and parent-child ethics among family ethics.

  • A FTS (Flight Termination System) is a system that resides in a flying object such as a rocket, unmanned airplane, helicopter, missile, etc., receives commands from ground stations or detects coordinates automatically, and accomplishes a destruction command in case the object does not follow the presumed orbit. In this paper, we address the implementation of a communication modem for the FTS modem. We present general theory, simulation results using Matlab, and several results on the implementation using VHDL.

  • The satellite communications are expected to play an important role to provide broadband multimedia services in the 21st century. According to this requirements, this paper describes the design and implementation of ATM-based high speed satellite modem ASIC chipset. The ASIC chip consists of three main parts, CODEC, Modulator and Demodulator. It supports burst and continuous mode operation with TDMA frame consisted of Reference bursts, Inbound burst, and Traffic burst. The maximum transmission rate is OC-3 (155Mbps) and the maximum operating clock speed is 220MHz. This ASIC chip was implemented with 0.25um CMOS technology.

  • In repairing and reinforcing modem architecture, altering the features must be minimized. We concluded that inserting CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforcement Polymer) plate method is the most appropriate reinforcing method that minimize altering the features. This study focuses on the effect of reinforcement by inserting CFRP plate in the timber beam of the modem architecture's roof truss. We concluded that inserting CFRP plate method is highly influenced by its parent material, however, it is obvious that materials had reinforced by this method in general. We guess that this method is applicable to reinforcement in the modern architecture's roof truss in various ways.

  • A remote monitoring system was developed to improve inconveniences of manual work such as monitoring street lights by using current sensors, microprocessor and RF communication system. In order to control the street lights on the roads effectively and monitor them in real time, we can attach current sensor to the street lights which monitors Lamp, the broken part and state of the Balast, and the amount of an electric leak precisely we developed a system which makes it possible to transmit the data on monitoring results in breakdown of street lights and Balasts to the central monitoring computer without setting up extra data transmission line. The system we devised can transmit data through Power Line Modem and RF communication using relay method to the central controlling computer without any loss of data.

  • Servo drives with microcomputer control provide the possibility of using modem and sophisticated control algorithms. As an additional feature it is possible to implement parallel and/or redundant software and hardware structures to realise safe motion or similar security functions. Unfortunately microcomputer control also has some impact on the behaviour of servo drives. Control algorithm, cycle time, sensors and interface have to be perfectly synchronised. Special control schemes are necessary on the line side (power supply) to meet the actual requirements concerning EMC. This contribution presents experiences and results obtained from a modem digital drive system pointing out the influences of low and high accuracy position sensors and the interdependencies mentioned above.

  • In this paper we develop textbook 'Modem Algebra' for training mathematics teacher of secondary schools. In order to understand mathematics teacher's viewpoint about desirable textbook 'Modem Algebra' we created a Questionnaire related with curriculum and textbook for training mathematics teacher of secondary schools. We analyze the result of the questionnaire along with recent studies on teacher education and come up with basic principles of developing textbook 'Modern Algebra'. The first version of 'Modern Algebra for Mathematics Teachers' that we have developed based on our study can be found in website 'www.teacheredu.co.kr'.

  • The purpose of this study is to observe the meaning of Minimalism and the characteristics in modem fashion design. The Minimalism appeared in 1960's has affect on fashion design which are simple miniskirt or Courrage look of those days. It leads a fashion system to the simple style goes with the life style of modem persons although the characteristics are somewhat different the styles in 1960's with those of 1990's. Minimal style is not just simple style but abbriviate expression constrained at the minimum. The styles appeared to be an undecorated simple line which are a sleeveless onepiece, a simple suit with no pocket and no collar and narrow shoulder. Colors are monochrome coordination and pursue a simplicity which is monotone variation. Patterns also appeared to be a geometric or abstract pattern for example check and stripe, which intend to minimum expression. Matirials are hightech glossy coating textures which have a futuristic image. In conclusion, the Minimalism in 1990's appeared to be a post-minimalism associated with postmodernism and a hightech-minimal under the technology development.

  • This paper describes the implementation of control and monitoring system of ship's lamps at local area using power line communication method, power line modem(PLM). We design modem, microprocessor interface for electric power control by frequency control and analog to digital signal conversion, lamp device. PLM communication is very economical using existing electric power line unlike RS-232, RS-485 communications. We verify and confirm by experimental work that control and monitor lamp system for ship by an PLM communication.
