  • Nowadays DC-DC converter has been used widely in electronic production. It has a high requirement in wide input voltage, load variations, stability, providing a fast transient response and the most important thing is that it can be applied easily and efficiently. However, it is not easy to be controlled because of nonlinear system. This study introduces a fuzzy linear control design method for nonlinear systems with optimal $H^{\infty}$ robustness performance. First, the Takagi and Sugeno fuzzy linear model is employed to approximate a nonlinear system. Next, based on the fuzzy linear model, a fuzzy controller is developed to stabilize the nonlinear system, and at the same time the effect of external disturbance on control performance is attenuated to a minimum level. Thus based on the fuzzy linear model, $H^{\infty}$ performance design can be achieved in nonlinear control systems. Linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques are employed to solve this robust fuzzy control problem. PI control structure is used and the control gains are determined based on $H^{\infty}$ control.

  • Intelligent Control is an extended paradigm that subsumes both control and AI paradigms, each of which is limited by its own abstractions. Autonomy, as a design goal, offers an arena where both control and AI paradigms must be applied -and a challenge to the viability of both as independent entities. We discuss hierarchical event-based control architectures in which AI and Control paradigms can be integrated within a model-based approach. In a niodel-based system, knowledge is encapsulated in the form of models at the various layers to support the predefined system objectives. Concepts are illustrated with a robotmanaged space-borne chemical laboratory.

  • A high speed tracking control system for 6-6 Stewart platform manipulator is designed for performing the model based joint-axis sliding mode control. Because of the complex dynamics and kinematics of the Stewart platform manipulator, two computer systems, consisting of a PC and a DSP, are adopted, so that real time tasks are run in synchronous and asynchronous modes. It is experimentally proven that the proposed control system makes the convenience in implementation of model based tracking control, so that it can achieve effective tracking control under relatively high speed and additional payload conditions.

  • In this paper Valentine Braitenberg structure based sensory motor model for object tracking control system was proposed. Conventional model based control schemes are require highly non-linear mathematical models, which require long computational time to solve complex high order equations. Contrast to conventional models proposed system simply link signal data from camera directly to the inputs of neural network, and outputs of network are directly fed into input of motor driver of camera. With simple structure of sensory motor model, real time tracking control system for dynamic object was realized successfully, and the implementation of sensory motor model can overcome the limitation of model-based control schemes.

  • This paper discusses a real time multi-tasking system model and a development environment for an elevator control system. Recently, as the elevator systems become large-scaled and operate with high speed, there are lots of software tasks to be processed with time constraints. Thus, the control systems are designed with distributed control structure and characteristics of typical real time systems. For stuructural design of such real time system, we introduce a multi-tasking model based on a real time operating system model and an software development environment based on virtual protopyping which simulates real system operation in the cross development of a new elevator system with distributed control structure and its system reliability can be verified through numerous field tests.

  • Due to the nonlinearity and environmental uncertainties, the design of the ship's steering controller is a long-term challenge. The purpose of this study is to design an intelligent autopilot based on Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) trained Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) control algorithm. The newly developed free running model scaled surface vessel was employed to execute the motion control experiments. After describing the design of the EKF trained RBFNN autopilot, the performances of the proposed control system were investigated by conducting experiments using the physical model on lake and simulations using the corresponding mathematical model. The results demonstrate that the developed control system is feasible to be used for the ship's motion control in the presences of environmental disturbances. Moreover, in comparison with the Back-Propagation (BP) neural networks and Proportional-Derivative (PD) based control methods, the EKF RBFNN based control method shows better performance regarding course keeping and trajectory tracking.

  • In this paper, we suggest the high efficient control method based on general PI control law to control the refrigeration system of the ship effectively. In the variable speed refrigeration system, the capacity and the superheat are controlled by inverters and electronic expansion valves respectively for saving energy and improving cost performance. Thus, we propose decoupling model to eliminate the interfering at first. Next, we design PI controller to control capacity and superheat independently. Finally the control performance was investigated through some experiments. The experiments results show that the PI control design can obtain good control performance deal with the varied control reference and thermal load.

  • This paper presents a design method of sliding model control (SMC) for single input linear systems with mismatched uncertainties. We define a virtual state based on the controllable canonical form of the nominal system. And we defined a sliding surface for the augmented system with a virtual state. This sliding surface makes it possible to use the SMC technique with various types of controllers. In this paper, we construct a controller that combines SMC with robust controller. We design a robust controller for the system with mismatched uncertainties using a form of linear matrix inequality(LMI). We make a virtual state from this robust control input and the states of the nominal system. And we design a sliding model controller that stabilizes the overall closed-loop system.

  • A design method of a T-S fuzzy model based reduced order nonlinear unknown input observer(NUIO) is presented. The fuzzy NUIO is designed based on the parallel distributed compensation(PDC) concept. It consists of a number of the linear UIOs, each of which is designed for each local linear model in the T-S fuzzy model of a class of nonlinear systems. The fuzzy NUIO provides not only the state estimates insensitive to the unknown inputs, for example, disturbances and faults etc., but also the estimates of the unknown inputs. Therefore, It can be employed in the state feedback control and disturbance rejection control of a class of nonlinear systems with unknown disturbances. It also applied to the robust residual generation for the fault detection and isolation systems and to the design of fault tolerant control systems. As an example, the NUIO is applied to an inverted pendulum system to show the state and disturbance estimation performance and to illustrate the fuzzy reduced order NUIO design method.
