  • [Purpose] Exercise is a fundamental way to maintain and improve health and physical fitness. Many human studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of exercise on various biological parameters. However, studies investigating the effects of exercise in dogs are limited. This review summarized the current data from studies that examined the effects of different exercise conditions (treadmill vs. non-treadmill and acute vs. chronic) on physiological and hematological parameters in dogs. [Methods] Papers addressing the effects of exercise in dogs published from January 2000 to October 2020 were retrieved from the online databases of Scopus, Google Scholar, and PubMed and were selected and reviewed. [Results] The exercise conditions differentially affected physiological and hematological responses and adaptation in dogs. Therefore, the development and comprehensive evaluation of scientific exercise programs for dogs are necessary. [Conclusion] The dog would be a valuable exercise science animal model, and studies aiming at the optimal health, well-being, and quality of life of dogs need to be conducted.

  • Information system, organization structure, and business strategy have been major variables in MIS research. Most of research about these variables interested in the relationship of two variables. There were very few efforts to connect three variables. But relationship or fitness of these factors plays an important role to improve performance. Nowadays managers face new challenge. That is 'globalization' To cope with this turbulent environment, they have to know how to fit these Important factors(information system, organization structure, business strategy). It is the main purpose of this article to find out the fitness of these variables under global business environment. Based on literature review, I made research model which tells whether fitness of three variables affects performance under the control of headquarter. And I propose hypothesis. I define strategy as global innovator, integrated player, implementers role, local innovator and organization structure as multinational, global, international, trans-national and information system as independent IT operation, headquarter driven configuration, intellectual synergy configuration, global integrated IT configuration.

  • Purpose: To evaluate an effect of additional firing process after sintering of monolithic zirconia crown on marginal and internal fit through three-dimensional analysis. Materials and methods: Ten monolithic zirconia crowns were fabricated using titanium abutment model. Monolithic zirconia crowns were designed, milled, and sintered as a control group, and additional firing with coloring was performed as a test group. Three dimensional analysis were performed by using triple-scan protocol, and cross-section analysis on mesio-distal and disto-lingual section was evaluated to measure marginal and internal fitness. Then, three-dimensional surface difference on between two groups was evaluated (${\alpha}=.05$). Results: There was statistically significant difference between the control group ($32.0{\pm}24.3{\mu}m$) and the test group ($17.0{\pm}10.8{\mu}m$) in the mesial axial wall (P < .02) and the control group ($60.2{\pm}24.3{\mu}m$) and the test group ($71.8{\pm}21.5{\mu}m$) in the distal axial wall (P < .01). There was no statistically significant difference at the remaining point. Conclusion: There was no statistical significance on the deviation of inner surface of crown according to firing number, and the results of both group were considered clinically acceptable.

  • This study was conducted to develop a stem volume table for Quercus acutissima in Korea by using Kozak's stem taper equation. In total, 2700 tree samples were collected around the country, and growth performance was investigated through compiling data on diameters by stem height and stem analysis. In order to test the stem taper equation's fitness, the fitness index (FI), bias, and mean absolute deviation (MAD) were analyzed. The fitness of the equation was estimated at 97%, bias as 0.017, and MAD turned out to be 1.118, respectively. Furthermore, there was a statistically significant volume difference between the current volume table and the new volume table (p = 0.0008, <0.005). The result indicates that using the new volume table that reflects the actual forest will reduce the loss when assessing wood resources and will improve the accuracy of forest statistics for national and local governments. A stem volume table, the main result of this research, which is utilized in the estimated stem taper equation, will provide growth information for Quercus acutissima, one of the main broadleaf species in Korea, and will function as a management indicator for rational forest management.

  • The safety management of a road network comprises four basic inter-related components:identification of sites(black spot) requiring safety investigation, diagnosis of safety problems, selection of feasible treatments for potential treatment candidates, and prioritization of treatments given limited budgets(Persaud, 2001). Identification process of selecting black spot is very important for efficient investigation of sites. In this study, the accident prediction model for EB method was developed by using accident data and geometric conditions of black spots selected from four-leg signalized intersections in In-cheon City for three years (2004-2006). In addition, by comparing the rank nomination technique using EB method to that by using accident counts, we managed to show the problems which the existing method have and the necessity for developing rational prediction model. As a result, in terms of total number of accidents, both the counts predicted by existing non-linear regression model and that by EB method have high good of fitness, but EB method, considering both the accident counts by sites and total number of accident, has better good of fitness than non-linear poison model. According to the result of the comparison of ranks nominated for treatment between two methods, the rank for treatment of almost sites does not change but SeoHae intersection and a few other intersections have significant changes in their rank. This shows that, with the technique proposed in the study, the RTM problem caused by using real accident counts can be overcome.

  • Objectives: This study investigated how income, duration of illness, social stigma, quality of sleeping, ADL and social participation related to Parkinson's disease(PD) predict depression in a conceptual model based on the International Classification of Functioning(ICF) model. Methods: The sample included 206 adults with idiopathic Parkinson's disease(IPD) attending D university hospital in B Metro-politan City. A structured questionnaire was used and conducted face-to-face interviews. The collected data were analyzed for fitness, using the AMOS 18.0 program. Results: A path analysis showed that the overall model provided empirical evidence for linkages in the ICF model. Depression was manifested by significant direct effects of social stigma(${\beta}=.20$, p<.001), quality of sleeping(${\beta}=-.40$, p<.001), ADL(${\beta}=-.20$, p<.01), and social participation(${\beta}=-.12$, p<.05), indirect effects including income(p<.05), duration of illness(p<.05). These variables explained 45.9% of variance in the prediction model. Conclusions: This model may help nurses to collect and assess information to develop intervention program for depression.

  • Research on stem cells can be divided into three categories : pluripotent stem cell, adult stem cell, and induced pluripotent stem cell. Technology life cycle (TLC) on research stage is analyzed for the three stem cell categories based on diffusion model. Three diffusion models-logistic, Bass, and Bass model with integration constant (BMIC)-are applied to the number of articles related to each stem cell category in SCOPUS lists. Two different parameter estimation methods is used for each of logistic and Bass model. Results show that (1) the current year, 2015, lies in growth period at pluripotent stem cell and adult stem cell, and lies in growth period or maturity period at induced pluripotent stem cell. (2) Model fitness is the highest at BMIC model. (3) Imitation effect works best at the research area of induced pluripotent stem cell.
