고속전철 견인용 전력변환장치에 관한 연구 (A Study on Power Conversion System of the High Speed Train)

  • This paper presents the current-fed inverter of a TGV-K traction system with thyristor switches using phase control and commutation techniques. The current-fed inverters have two modes of operation which consist of forced commutation and natural commutation. In forced commutation mode, at speed of less than 120km/h, commutation is forced by means of the commutation capacitors and the thyristors. Above 120km/h, the thyristors operate in natural commutation mode, according to the voltages between phases of the motors. In this paper, the power conversion theory of the TGV-K traction system and the control principle of the converter and current-fed inverter are discussed.

Analysis of Temperature Effects on Raman Silicon Photonic Devices

  • Recent research efforts on study of silicon photonics utilizing stimulated Raman scattering have largely overlooked temperature effects. In this paper, we incorporated the temperature dependences into the key parameters governing wave propagation in silicon waveguides with Raman gain and investigated how the temperature affects the solution of the coupled-mode equations. We then carried out, as one particular application example, a numerical analysis of the performance of wavelength converters based on stimulated Raman scattering at temperatures ranging from 298 K to 500 K. The analysis predicted, among other things, that the wavelength conversion efficiency could decrease by as much as 12 dB at 500 K in comparison to that at the room temperature. These results indicate that it is necessary to take a careful account of temperature effects in designing, fabricating, and operating Raman silicon photonic devices.

  • The power conversion system for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle(FCEV), technical trend, and a various type of Fuel Cell and its characteristics are presented. Especially, this paper is focused on the control methods of power conversion devices applied for the Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, configuration of power system and operation mode of the bidirectional DC/DC converter. The prevalent topology for the power conversion systems, simulation results and development a tendency of FCEV and it's market investigations are introduced.

Numerical Study on Frequency Up-conversion in USPR using MATLAB

  • In this paper, the O-mode ultrashort-pulse reflectometry (USPR) millimeter-wave signals that propagate into the plasma and cover a frequency bandwidth of 33-158 GHz are examined numerically using MATLAB. Two important processes are involved in the computation: the propagation of the USPR impulse signal through a waveguide and the frequency up-conversion using millimeter-wave mixers. These mixers are limited to intermediate frequency signals that are less than 500 mV; thus, it is necessary to disperse the impulse signal into a chirped waveform using the waveguide. The stationary phase method is utilized to derive a closed-form formula for a chirped waveform under the assumption that the USPR impulse is Gaussian. In the process of frequency up-conversion, the chirped waveform is mixed with the mixer LO signal, and the lower frequency components of the RF signal are removed using high pass filters.

  • A balanced single side-band (SSB) mixer employing a sub-harmonic configuration is designed for up and down conversions in K-band. The designed mixer uses anti-parallel diode (APD) pairs to effectively eliminate even harmonics of the local oscillator (LO) spurious signal. To reduce the odd harmonics of LO at the RF port, we employ a balanced configuration for LO. The fabricated chip shows 12$\pm$2dB of conversion loss and image-rejection ratio of about 20dB for down conversion at RF frequencies of 24-27.5GHz. As an up-conversion mode, the designed chip shows 12dB of conversion loss and image-rejection ratio of 20 ~ 25 dB at RF frequencies of 25 to 27GHz. The odd harmonics of the LO are measured below -37dBc.

  • Recently, power conversion equipment increased rapidly makes a lot of harmonics. Thus, it is growing that wrong operation and break down of sensitive devices. There are two kinds of causes of harmonics. One of them is lots of power conversion equipment as modem controller, inverter, converter and SWS(Switching Mode Power Supply). Another is nonlinear operating machines as transformer and motor. The more nonlinear loads like them grow, the more serious problems as harmonic current to source and low power factor because of increasing reactive power grow. It is installed for reactor and L-C Filter to decrease harmonic in general. This paper analysis and compares two of characteristics and harmonic from reactor and L-C Filter with operation of induction motor and power conversion equipment. In the result, L-C Filter more improves unbalance rate and THD than reactor.

광섬유 브래그 격자의 투과 및 반사 스펙트럼간 동일 선로상 변환이 가능한 편광상이 배치구조 기반 광섬유 필터 (Polarization-Diversity-Loop-Configuration-Based Fiber Filter Realizing Inline Conversion Between Transmission and Reflection Spectra of Fiber Bragg Grating)

  • By incorporating a polarization-diversity loop configuration (PDLC), we have demonstrated inline conversion between transmission and reflection spectra of a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) without reconfiguration of the fiber filter structure. The proposed apparatus consists of a polarization beam splitter, an FBG, and two quarter-wave plates (QWP's). The inline conversion operation between transmission and reflection spectra of the FBG was performed by proper adjustment of QWP's within the proposed filter. The band rejection ratio and side-mode suppression ratio in transmission and reflection modes of the fabricated filter were measured as ~17.0[dB] and ~16.4[dB], respectively.

  • 본 논문은 다중 대역 레이더 수신기의 소형화를 위한 이중 모드 주파수 혼합기를 구현하였다. 제안한 혼합기는 역병렬 다이오드(anti-parallel diode)를 이용하였고, 제어 전압 유무에 따라 기본파 혼합기 또는 부고조파 혼합기로 동작한다. 제어 전압을 인가하여 기본파 혼합기로 동작하는 경우, X-대역에서 -10 dB 변환 손실, 2.0 dBm P1dB 특성을 나타내었고, 제어 전압을 인가하지 않은 부고조파 혼합기로 동작하는 경우 K-대역에서 -10 dB 변환 손실, 2.0 dBm P1dB 특성을 나타내었다.

  • 틸트로터 항공기는 회전익모드, 천이모드, 고정익모드를 동시에 갖는 복합 형상 항공기 이다. 각 비행모드에서 최적의 상태로 비행하기위해서는 조종면 변위를 적절히 분배하고 조합하는 조종면의 혼합기설계가 요구된다. 회전익과 고정익을 전환할 수 있도록 설계돤 천이모드는 나셀각의 변경에 따른 추력선이 변경되고 이로 인해 천이모드에서 피치, 롤, 요축에 대해 불필요한 힘과 모멘트를 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서는 나셀의 틸팅각 변화에 따라 발생하는 힘과 모멘트를 다른 조종면을 통해 적절히 조절하여 일관된 항공기의 운동이 발생하도록 하는 스마트무인기 40% 축소모델에 대한 조종면 혼합기설계에 대해 서술하였다.

  • 16.6${\mu}m$ 주기로 리튬나오베이트 Ti 확산 채널광도파로를 분극반전 시킨 Ti:PPLN을 이용해서 편광모드변환을 기반으로 하는 $\check{S}$olc-형 파장필터를 구현하여, 실험적으로 투과 광 스펙트럼을 측정하였다. 중심파장 1272.49nm에서 투과 스펙트럼이 관찰되었으며, 투과 스펙트럼의 선폭(FWHM)과 부모드 레벨이 각각 0.23nm and 7dB로 측정되었다.
