By developing the IoT(Internet of Things) technology, devices for smart home environment have rapidly increased. With respect to mobiles, these applications are used to control and manage the various smart devices effectively. However, the existing mechanisms only provide simple information, and hence a difficulty to search or control the smart devices persists, since there is no meaningful relationship between them. In this research, we suggest an interface which visualizes the device's data and controls them effectively, based on the user's device using pattern. As a solution for this problem, we classify the user pattern based on a timeline for the associated circumstance, and visualize the device's data to make a group or to control individually in an easier approach. Also, all meaningful information could be confirmed by summarizing all the data of smart devices.

As it is developing and growing up the mobile telecommunication, commercial mobile, and the application on it, the smart phone is attracting public attention techniques, hereafter. In this paper, we can make the context-awareness platform to supply users with the interface for their appropriate contexts using the smart phone. Therefore, we use the sensors in the smart phone, and the values from them are analyzed. As a result, we can estimate the user's contexts, such as the sitting and standing, movement, the lights, positions, locations, etc. In addition, we happen the suitable events from them for users. Therefore, we can provide the perspective interfaces for them. In addition, to prove the more efficiency of the proposed platform, we implemented the shooting game, and could know that the performance is the more advanced than the others. The proposed algorithm can be used for the mobile environments, which high efficiency is required such as the game, or the implementation of mobile applications which are more efficient to the user interfaces, etc.

W3C announced a standard software architecture for multimodal context-aware middleware that emphasizes modularity and separates structure, contents, and presentation. We implemented a distributed multimodal interface system followed the W3C architecture, based on SCXML. SCXML uses parallel states to invoke both XHTML and VoiceXML contents as well as to gather composite or sequential multimodal inputs through man-machine interactions. We also hire Delivery Context Interface(DCI) module and an external service bundle enabling middleware to support context-awareness services for real world environments. The provision of personalized user interfaces for mobile devices is expected to be used for different devices with a wide variety of capabilities and interaction modalities. We demonstrated the implemented middleware could maintain multimodal scenarios in a clear, concise and consistent manner by some experiments.

Offering of different attractive opportunities by different wireless technologies trends the convergence of heterogeneous networks for the future wireless communication system. To make a seamless handover among the heterogeneous networks, the optimization of the power consumption, and optimal selection of interface are the challenging issues. The access of multi interfaces simultaneously reduces the handover latency and data loss in heterogeneous handover. The mobile node (MN) maintains one interface connection while other interface is used for handover process. However, it causes much battery power consumption. In this paper we propose an efficient interface selection scheme including interface selection algorithms, interface selection procedures considering battery power consumption and user mobility with other existing parameters for overlaying networks. We also propose a priority based network selection scheme according to the service types. MN‘s battery power level, provision of QoS/QoE and our proposed priority parameters are considered as more important parameters for our interface selection algorithm. The performances of the proposed scheme are verified using numerical analysis.
Users in ubiquitous computing environment can easily access and use a multitude of devices and services anywhere and anytime. The key technology to realize this scenario is the method to intuitively provide proper user interfaces for each device and service. Previous attempts simply provided a designated user interface for each device and service or provided an abstract user interface to control common functions of different services. To select a target appliance, either user directly specified the target device or depended on sensors such as RFID tags and readers limiting the applicable scenarios. In this paper, we present UbiController which uniquely uses camera on the mobile device to recognize markers of appliances to acquire user interface for controlling task. UbiController aims to provide automatic discovery of multiple services in the smart home environment, support traditional GUI and novel camera-based recognition method as well as intuitive interaction methods for users. In this paper, we show experiments on the performance of UbiController's discovery and recognition methods and user feedback on interaction methods from a user study.
The purpose of this research was to develop an integrated interface for the usability test of systems or products in the design process. It is capable of automatically creating GOMS models which can predict human task performances. It can generate GOMS models to be interacted with the prototype interfaces. It can also effectively manage various design information and various usability test results to be implemented into the new product and/or system design. Thus we can perform usability test for products or system prototypes more effectively and also reduce time and effort required for this test. For usability tests, we established an integrated interface based on GOMS model by the LabVIEW program. We constructed the system that the linkage to GOMS model is available. Using this integrated interface, the menu structure of mobile phone can be constructed easily. User can design a depth and a breath that he want. The size of button and the label of the button is changable. The path to the goal can be defined by the user. Using a designed menu structure, the experiment could be performed. The results of GOMS model and the actual time are presented. Besides, values of operators of GOMS model can be defined as the value that user wants. Using the integrated interface that we developed, the optimal menu structure deducted. The menu structure that user wants can be established easily. The optimal layout and button size can be decided by comparison of numerous menu structures. User can choose the method of usability test among GOMS model and empirical data. Using this integrated interface, the time and costs can be saved and the optimal menu structure can be found easily.
Growing smartphone usage in South Korea has also accelerated the pace of development of mobile games, but competition is intensifying as the market grows. As one of the factors for the success of the game in this mobile game market, UI has been presented, suggesting that the design of such mobile game UI should be approached in terms of designing the user's experience, along with its function, aesthetic expression, function-oriented design and information delivery before. In this paper, we propose an effective lobby layout of mobile RPG using experience among UX factors. Through the layout classification of Ernest Adams and Andrew Rollings, we selected 9 mobile RPGs in the 20th place of google play cumulative sales rankings and analyzed the layout of the lobby. As a result, the lobby layout of the game, which led the first market success of the mobile RPG genre, The result was that it became the standard of the boxed game. It can be interpreted that the lobby layout, which is similar to the game used previously by the user, is effective because low entry barriers and learning are unnecessary due to the experience of using the existing RPG. Future studies may produce a common layout of a broad genre if studies are conducted to measure the optimum UX for other genres than RPG.
In this study, an integrated 3D modeling and rendering system dealing with 3D urban landscape features such as terrain, building, road and user-defined geometric ones was designed and implemented using $OPENGL\;{|}\;ES$ (Embedded System) API for mobile devices of PDA. In this system, the authoring functions are composed of several parts handling urban landscape features: vertex-based geometry modeling, editing and manipulating 3D landscape objects, generating geometrically complex type features with attributes for 3D objects, and texture mapping of complex types using image library. It is a kind of feature-based system, linked with 3D geo-based spatial feature attributes. As for the rendering process, some functions are provided: optimizing of integrated multiple 3D landscape objects, and rendering of texture-mapped 3D landscape objects. By the active-synchronized process among desktop system, OPENGL-based 3D visualization system, and mobile system, it is possible to transfer and disseminate 3D feature models through both systems. In this mobile 3D urban processing system, the main graphical user interface and core components is implemented under EVC 4.0 MFC and tested at PDA running on windows mobile and Pocket Pc. It is expected that the mobile 3D geo-spatial information systems supporting registration, modeling, and rendering functions can be effectively utilized for real time 3D urban planning and 3D mobile mapping on the site.
