Realtime applications like VoIP(Voice over IP) in All-IP networks need smooth handoffs in order to minimize or eliminate packet loss as a Mobile Host(MH) transitions between network links. In this paper, we design a new dynamic buffering(DB) mechanism for IPv6 by which an MH can request that the router on its current subnet buffers packets on its behalf while the MH completes registration procedures with the router of a new subnet. Performance results show that our proposed buffering scheme with a dynamic buffer space allocation is quite appropriate for mobile Internet, or the All-IP environment in terms of the datagram loss rate.

In NEMO scenarios, mobile node's variety of movements and mobile router's point of attachment changes can result in handover. This handover process needs additional time to finish due to the multiple levels of indirection involved in NEMO. And the performance issues of mobile node's handover such as handover delay and packet loss in above cases haven't been studied thoroughly. So, in this paper, we define fast handover failure cases in hierarchical mobile IPv6 network based NEMO. We briefly described NEMO architecture and handover procedures of FMIPv6 and HMIPv6. And then, we classified mobile node or mobile router's movement pattern into several scenarios. Analysis for the fast handover classified NEMO scenarios, in terms of handover latency and packet delivery cost have been performed.

This paper proposes a seamless handoff scheme that enables a mobile node to continue a session when moving to an overlapping area. During handoff due to the weakness of signaling, mobile node makes new Care-of Addresses using signals received from access router when MN reaches the edge of its area in addition to its current CoA, and it sends temporary binding update messages to Mobility Anchor Point which manage the area covering MN. MAP receives that binding update messages from MN, and temporarily stores new binding informations from them to its binding cache besides existing binding information for MN. This scheme ensures a seamlessly handoff using multicasting until MN enter a new access router area and sends a confirmed binding update message to MAP.

More and more residential and mobile users are requiring access to the Internet. This paper presents an architecture of the network solution for cost-effective Internet/intranet access between users and Network Service Providers(NSPs). It also presents a functional architecture of Internet access router in the integrated access node system. The proposed Internet access router provides the functionality that users select any of a number of NSPs and mutiple user PPP calls are multiplexed over each secure tunnel between the Internet access router and NSP.

The demand for next generation networks can be condensed into always-best-connected, ubiquitous, mobile, all-lP, and converged networks. IPv6 has been introduced for all-IP ubiquitous communications, and vehicles are coming to represent an important communication platform. In this paper. we propose various resource management schemes for in-vehicle mobile networks, which are adaptive to different hardware configurations. We focus on power and wireless bandwidth since they are critical resources for mobile communications. Based on the mobility characteristics of in-vehicle networks, we propose vehicle-aware power saving schemes. The main idea behind these power saving schemes is to adjust mobile router (MR) advertisement interval and binding lifetime. In addition, according to different wireless environments, we propose adaptive bandwidth management schemes using multihoming: best-connected MR selection based on location, and high-data-rate MR selection based on priority By mathematical analysis, it is shown that our schemes save power prominently for both the dormant nodes and active nodes. In addition, simulation results show that proposed multiple mobile router architecture outperforms previous simple redundant router architecture in preserving session and providing sufficient bandwidth.

The existing handover authentication schemes have authentication delay and overhead of the authentication server since they have been separately studied handover authentication at the link layer and the network layer. This paper proposes a handover authentication scheme initiated by Mobile Node on FMIPv6 based mobile access networks. The main idea of the paper is to generate a session key at the mobile node side, and transfer it to the next Access Router through the authentication server. Also, the scheme has a hierarchical key management at access router. There are two advantages of the scheme. First, the generated session key can be utilized for protecting the binding update messages and also for access authentication. Second, hierarchical key management at the access router reduced the handover delay time. The security aspects on the against PFS, PBS, and DoS attack of proposed scheme are discussed.
In this paper, we propose an efficient seamless handoff scheme to minimize packet loss and unnecessary packets on the Internet using the peculiar mobility characteristics of public vehicles such as trains. MR (Mobile Router) in a train visits each AR (Access Router) in the fixed order. As the MR detects reachability to the NAR (Next Access Router) on the new link, the PAR (Previous Access Router) can directly deliver packets from MR's HA (Home Agent) to the NAR according to the HML (Handoff Mobile router List). Then. the NAR buffers them until the MR finishes L3 (Layer 3) handoff procedure with the NAR. Therefore, our scheme can support a seamless handoff without the packet loss and unnecessary packets on the Internet. The result of our performance evaluation has shown that the proposed scheme could provide excellent performance, compared with the NEMO basic support protocol and the Bi-casting protocol.

Recently the diffusion of the advancement of mobile communication technique and mobile terminal increased, The users were demanded seamless services when carrying and moving. It proposed the FMIPv6 (Fast Handoff for Mobile IPv6) from the IETF like this meeting this requirement. The handover procedure of the FMIPv6 causes to defecate with movement detection, new CoA configuration and binding update. But, the delay occurs from each process, when the DAD(Duplicate Address Detection) of the CoA executing, the big delay occurs. This paper proposes a scheme of delay reduction, it omits DAD process and stores in the AR(Access Router) relates in the CoA of the mobile terminal information.
