모바일 데이터베이스 환경하에서의 성능 향상을 위한 군집화 기법의 성능 평가 시뮬레이션 (A Performance Estimation Simulation of Grouping Method for Performance Elevation under Mobile Database Environment)

  • The explosive Increase of wireless networks and the advancement of mobile devices lead to the expansion of mobile environment. In accordance with the development of mobile environment, the need to use mobile database is increased sharply, and also it accompanies the related problems. The current mobile database system is based on the centralized method from which a synchronized server manages multiple mobile database management system to synchronize. From this mobile system architecture, several kinds of problems can be detected such as the management of synchronization issues between mobile databases and the transaction management issues. Furthermore, the current mobile database management system does not consider any solution on the fault tolerance. To solve those problems, this paper proposes the mobile agent-based mobile database management system. The proposed system provide high confidence and efficiency by enhancing the network efficiency and fault tolerance through the mobile grouping.

THE USE OF MOBILE COMPUTERS FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

  • When construction engineers perform their work in the jobsite, they have to record as-built conditions in the project log (Data Collection). On the other hand, the engineers often have to refer to the construction documents when necessary at the job faces (Data Access). The practice of Data Collection and Data Access in the jobsite can be greatly enhanced by utilizing mobile computing with wireless communications. In this paper, two cases of mobile computing applications for construction field management are presented; Mobile Specifications System and Mobile Data Collection System. The demonstration of the process for developing two mobile applications is the primary purpose of the paper. The problems and issues involved with adopting mobile computing for construction field are also presented. The simple information framework for mobile computing has been also proposed as an outcome of the research. As for development tools, readily available relational database and wireless network have been used. The use of commercial mobile broadband was examined for data communication where local area network is not available.

Scalability of a Mobile Agents based Network Management Application

  • This paper analyzes mobile agent performance in network management compared to the client-server model used in the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). Prototypes of an application that gathers MIB-II (Management Information Base-II) variables have been created and tested on a LAN. After acquiring implementation parameters related to network management and to the mobile agent infrastructure, simulation results have been obtained on large topologies similar in shape to the Internet. Response time results show that mobile agents perform better than SNMP when the number of managed elements ranges between two specific limits, an inferior bound and a superior one, determined by the number of messages that pass through a backbone and by the mobile agent size which grows along with MIB-II variables collected on network elements. The results also show that a significant improvement is achieved when the mobile agent returns or sends data to the management station after visiting a fixed number of nodes.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the essential contents of mobile application for self-management of patients with osteoarthritis through Delphi survey. Methods: The Delphi survey was conducted with 14 experts to determine the importance of contents in osteoarthritis self-management mobile application. Results: A total of 25 contents were finalized for the osteoarthritis self-management mobile application. The contents consisted of 7 items for daily living management, 8 items for disease information, 3 items for pain management, 6 items for exercise, and 1 item for weight management. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, self-management mobile application can be developed and used as an interventional tool for patients with osteoarthritis.

  • In this paper, recognizing the importance of the database query optimization design methods, we implemented mobile database with mobile program (J2ME) which is a useful database procedures. In doing so, we emphasize the logical query optimization which brings mobile database to performance improvement. The research implies that the suggested mobile program (J2ME) would contribute to the realization of the efficient mobile database as the related technology develops in the future.

  • 본 논문에서는 관리대상자의 위치 및 기타 관련 정보를 위치관리시스템(LMS : Location Management System)에서 항시 감시 및 관리할 수 있는 GPS 기반 위치 인식 단말시스템 및 위치관리시스템을 구현하였다. 구현한 시스템은 PID(Personal Identification Device)의 정보를 전송하기 위한 모듈과 GPS 기반의 위치정보 수집 모듈로 구성된 위치 인식 단말장치 (Mobile HTE : Mobile Home Terminal Equipment)와 Mobile HTE에서 수신된 정보를 인터넷 망을 통하여 위치관리시스템에 전송할 수 있는 단말장치 (HTE : Home Terminal Equipment)를 구현하여 관리대상자의 위치를 관리할 수 있는 위치관리시스템을 설계 하였다.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of the network management system with intelligent mobile agent system. The proposed system dynamically selects appropriate its destinations. Thus, the system has an advantage of flexible network management in mobile network environments as well as dynamic change of traffic. Comparing its delay and throughput performance with the conventional SNMP based network management system, we find that the proposed mobile agent system performs better efficiency than the conventional one.

  • 전통적인 SNMP를 이용한 중앙집중형 네트워크 관리 방식은 빈번한 폴링에 의한 통신량의 증가와 특정관리 노드에 병목 현상이 생기는 문제점을 안고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하고 극복하기 위한 이동 에이전트에 의한 네트워크 관리방식들이 연구되어 오고 있다. 그러나 이동 에이전트에 의한 네트워크 관리 방식은 관리해야 될 노드가 증가함에 따라 이동되는 데이터량이 누적 증가되어 효율성이 떨어진다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 이동에이전트를 이용한 분할관리 방식을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 노드들은 그룹들로 나누어지고 별도의 이동에이전트들에 의하여 관리된다. 각각의 이동에이전트들은 자신의 노드들을 방문하고 정보를 수집한다. 제안된 방법이 효율적임을 실험을 통하여 보였다.
