A suggestion for Mobile Fashion Information using Ontology Technique based on Relation Database (관계형 데이터베이스 기반 온톨로지 기법을 활용한 모바일 패션 정보 제안)

  • Recently, requriements that people want to receive various information related with fashion are increasing. A lot of internet shopping malls and corporations provide information about fashion. However, those systems do not give enough information about fashion. To solve these problems, the paper provides the recommend technique for providing complex fashion information on mobile devices. The providing system implements fasion ontology by using XML. The XML ontology has dewey number as an attribute. The recommend technique uses this number and find LCA(Lowest Common Ancestor) on the fashion ontology. Then those child nodes under the LCA are recommended as related information. The results are displayed on the mobile browser. The system provides function for taking a picture or movie of fashion contents. Those movies and pictures are UCC(User Created Content)s. The system is a novel system that can recommend complex fasion information on mobile devices.

  • Recent development in wireless computing and GPS technology cause the active development in the application system of location information in real-time environment such as transportation vehicle management, air traffic control and location based system. Especially, study about vehicle location tracking system, which monitors the vehicle's position in a control center, is appeared to be a representative application system. However, the current vehicle location tracking system can not provide vehicle position information that is not stored in a database at a specific time to users. We designed a vehicle location tracking system that could track vehicle location using mobile interface such as PDA. The proposed system consist of a vehicle location retrieving server and a mobile interface. It is provide not only the moving vehicle's current location but also the position at a past and future time which is not stored in database for users.

Korea Emissions Inventory Processing Using the US EPA's SMOKE System

  • Emissions inputs for use in air quality modeling of Korea were generated with the emissions inventory data from the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), maintained under the Clean Air Policy Support System (CAPSS) database. Source Classification Codes (SCC) in the Korea emissions inventory were adapted to use with the U.S. EPA's Sparse Matrix Operator Kernel Emissions (SMOKE) by finding the best-matching SMOKE default SCCs for the chemical speciation and temporal allocation. A set of 19 surrogate spatial allocation factors for South Korea were developed utilizing the Multi-scale Integrated Modeling System (MIMS) Spatial Allocator and Korean GIS databases. The mobile and area source emissions data, after temporal allocation, show typical sinusoidal diurnal variations with high peaks during daytime, while point source emissions show weak diurnal variations. The model-ready emissions are speciated for the carbon bond version 4 (CB-4) chemical mechanism. Volatile organic carbon (VOC) emissions from painting related industries in area source category significantly contribute to TOL (Toluene) and XYL (Xylene) emissions. ETH (Ethylene) emissions are largely contributed from point industrial incineration facilities and various mobile sources. On the other hand, a large portion of OLE (Olefin) emissions are speciated from mobile sources in addition to those contributed by the polypropylene industry in point source. It was found that FORM (Formaldehyde) is mostly emitted from petroleum industry and heavy duty diesel vehicles. Chemical speciation of PM2.5 emissions shows that PEC (primary fine elemental carbon) and POA (primary fine organic aerosol) are the most abundant species from diesel and gasoline vehicles. To reduce uncertainties in processing the Korea emission inventory due to the mapping of Korean SCCs to those of U.S., it would be practical to develop and use domestic source profiles for the top 10 SCCs for area and point sources and top 5 SCCs for on-road mobile sources when VOC emissions from the sources are more than 90% of the total.

Design of Handwriting-based Text Interface for Support of Mobile Platform Education Contents (모바일 플랫폼 교육 콘텐츠 지원을 위한 손 글씨 기반 텍스트 인터페이스 설계)

  • This study proposes a text interface for support of language-based educational contents in a mobile platform environment. The proposed interface utilizes deep learning as an input structure to write words through handwriting. Based on GUI (Graphical User Interface) using buttons and menus of mobile platform contents and input methods such as screen touch, click, and drag, we design a text interface that can directly input and process handwriting from the user. It uses the EMNIST (Extended Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology database) dataset and a trained CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) to classify and combine alphabetic texts to complete words. Finally, we conduct experiments to analyze the learning support effect of the interface proposed by directly producing English word education contents and to compare satisfaction. We compared the ability to learn English words presented by users who have experienced the existing keypad-type interface and the proposed handwriting-based text interface in the same educational environment, and we analyzed the overall satisfaction in the process of writing words by manipulating the interface.

  • Traditional concurrency control strategies for database system are inappropriate for mobile computing environments in which communication disconnection could occur frequently. The time available to access transactions may be extremely limited in mobile computing. In order to ensure that this time is utilized most effectively, the short-lived transactions must be a main stream of transactions. Service handoffs which occur due to communication disconnection, could degrade the performance of mobile transactions especially for short-lived transactions. Altruistic locking protocol is in its nature favorable to short-lived transactions since it applies the donation of locks to long-lived transactions as early as possible. Performance for short-lived transactions could be improved when we applied altruistic locking to mobile computing.

  • Mobile Internet has different platform cause interrupt activation of mobile internet because contents providers have each different development environment. To use of WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability) developer by KWISF(Korea Wireless Internet Standard Forum) founded to solve this problem guarantee independence of hardware and interpretation of mobile application. In this paper, we research method to activate WIPI which is standard platform to develop applications easily and efficiently in mobile environment and we implement WIPI application to show the excellent of WIPI in mobile development environment.

  • The user information stored in database have been leaked frequently. To protect information against malevolent manager on the inside or outside aggressor, it is one of the most efficient way to encrypt information and store to database. It is better to destruct information than not to use encrypted information stored in database. The encrypted database search system is developed variously, and used widely in many fields. In this paper, we implemented the scheme that can search encrypted document without exposing user's information to the untrusted server in mobile device. We compared and analyzed the result embodied with DES, AES, and ARIA based on symmetric key by searching time.

  • The LBS (Location-Based Services) are valuable information services combined the location of moving object with various contents such as map, POI (point of Interest), route and so on. The must general service of LBS is route determination service and its applicable parts are FMS (Fleet Management System), travel advisory system and mobile navigation system. The core function of route determination service is determination of optimal route from source to destination in various environments. The MODB (Moving Object Database) system, core part of LBS composition systems, is able to manage current or past location information of moving object and massive trajectory information stored in MODB is value-added data in CRM, ERP and data mining part. Also this past trajectory information can be helpful to determine optimal route. In this paper, we suggest methods to determine optimal route by querying past trajectory information in MODB system and verify the effectiveness of suggested method.

  • Focusing on the rapid market penetration of smart phones, the importance of LBS (Location Based Service) is drastically increased. However, traditional GPS method has critical weakness caused by limited availability, such as indoor environment. WPS is newly attractive method as a widely applicable positioning method. In WPS, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) data of all Wi-Fi APs (Access Point) are measured and stored into a huge database. The stored RSSI data in database make single radio fingerprint map. By the radio fingerprint map, we can estimate the actual position of target point. The essential factor of radio fingerprint database is data integrity of RSSI. Because of millions of APs in urban area, RSSI measurement data are seriously contaminated. Therefore, we present the unified filtering method for RSSI measurement data. As the results of filtering, we can show the effectiveness of suggested method in practical positioning system of mobile operator.

  • The importance of XML data and their database supports in a mobile terminal system is on the increase. It leads to active research for embedded XML database systems. In order to handle in documents, DOM API should be supported. The existing DOM API is not suitable for the embedded system with limited resource because the DOM tree requires a large space on main memory. Considering poor resource of embedded systems, we present persistent DOM which is implemented on Berkeley DB and DOMdbm which manages it.
