In this paper, a new hybrid fiber system (NHFS) is investigated for the application of slab. The steel fiber, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber and calcium carbonate ($CaCO_3$) whisker is added to form NHFS. The four-point bending test is carried out on the flexural properties of slab with plain, steel fiber, traditional hybrid fiber system (THFS) and NHFS reinforced cementitious composites. The flexural behavior is evaluated by ASTM C1018-97, JCI-SF4 and post-crack strength (PCS) technique. The evaluation parameters of flexural toughness such as toughness index (TI), equivalent flexural strength (EFS) and PCS are determined. The size of slab specimens is $15mm(thickness){\times}50mm(width){\times}200mm(length)$. The results show that adding $CaCO_3$ whisker to THFS can significantly improve the flexural strength, TI, EFS, PCS of the slab. The empirical relation between reinforcing index ($RI_v$) and flexural parameters show that flexural parameters of slabs increase first and then decrease; which indicates that optimum $RI_v$ values can be helpful in the considering the mix design of steel-PVA fibers-$CaCO_3$ whisker composites for achieving the desired flexural-related properties. The scanning electron microscopy is performed to observe the micro-morphological characteristics of the fracture surface, which proved the positive hybrid effect among the different fibers in cementitious composites. The NHFS can arrest the generation and propagation of the crack from micro to macro level.
The objectives of this study were to determine the effects of substituting bread by-product (BBP) for barley grain in high concentrate fattening diets for kids on nutrient intake, growth performance, and nutrient digestibility. Twenty-eight Baladi kids (body weight=17.1${\pm}$1.0 kg) were assigned randomly to 4 experimental finishing diets (7 kids/treatment) in a completely randomized design for 70 days. The control (CON) diet contained 20, 60, 11, 7 and 2% (DM basis) alfalfa hay, barley grain, soybean meal, corn grain, and mineral and vitamin mix, respectively. Bread by-product substituted barley grain by 10, 20 and 30% of the diet DM in the LBBP, MBBP, and HBBP diets, respectively. Dry matter intakes for the CON, LBBP and MBBP diets were similar (p>0.05; avg.=592 g/day), however, kids fed the HBBP diet had a lower (p<0.05) DM intake (451 g/day). Organic matter and CP intakes showed similar patterns to that observed for DM. Dietary treatments did not affect (p>0.05) average daily gain for kids fed the CON, LBBP and MBBP diets (avg.=150 g/day). Final body weights for kids fed the CON, LBBP and MBBP diets (avg. 27.1 kg) were greater (p<0.05) than for kids fed the HBBP diet (23.7 kg). Feed to gain ratio was greater for the CON, LBBP and MBBP diets (avg. 3.9) compared with the HBBP diet (5.0). No significant (p>0.05) effect of the dietary treatment was observed for DM, OM and NDF digestibility. Substituting BBP for barley grain up to 20% of the diet DM did not affect nutrient intake, growth performance and nutrient digestibility of kids and resulted in a decrease in feed cost.
Objective: High $NH_3$ emissions from poultry houses are reported to have negative impacts on health, welfare and safety of birds and humans, and on the environment. Objective of the present study was to determine the effects of two litter amendments on the $NH_3$ levels in broiler closed houses under hot-humid conditions. Methods: Giving a completely randomize design, nine closed houses, each housed 32,500 birds on paddy husk litter, were randomly allocated into two treatment (Mizuho; a bacterial culture mix and Rydall OE; an enzymatic biocatalyst) and control groups. $NH_3$ levels were determined thrice a day (0600, 1200, and 1800 h), at three heights from the litter surface (30, 90, and 150 cm), at 20 predetermined locations of a house, from day 1 to 41. Results: Rydall significantly reduced the $NH_3$ level compared to control and Mizuho. $NH_3$ levels at 30 cm were significantly higher than that of 90 and 150 cm. The $NH_3$ levels at 30 cm height were higher than 25 ppm level from day 9, 11, and 13 in Mizuho, control, and Rydall groups, respectively to day 41. $NH_3$ levels at 150 cm height were higher than maximum threshold limit of 50 ppm for human exposure from day 12, 14, and 15 in Mizuho, control, and Rydall groups, respectively to day 33. Being significantly different among each other, the $NH_3$ level was highest and lowest at 0600 and 1800 h. Litter amendments had no significant effects on growth performance. Rydall significantly increased the litter N content on day 24. Conclusion: It was concluded that the $NH_3$ levels of closed house broiler production facilities under tropical condition are so high that both birds and workers are exposed to above recommended levels during many days of the growing period. Compared to microbial culture, the enzymatic biocatalyst was found to be more effective in reducing $NH_3$ level.
Men's fashion has not much changed due to the pervasive patriarchy Because of the change of gender roll and attitude towards one's appearance and fashion, men began to express themselves with fashion in the late 90's. The purpose of this study is to categorize men's image and their fashion styles from Korean TV dramas to provide informations for predicting men's fashion trend in rapidly changing market. Through the analysis of three dramas with 30% or more of audience rating by all age groups from January to July, 2009, nine distinctive male images were selected and their styles were analyzed; silhouette, details, materials, color, accessories, and hair-style. The results are as follows: In the past holding neat and straight line silhouettes but today shows tight silhouette. In color and detail, the use of brilliant chromatic colors, use of hight saturation colors, big and brilliant pattern, ruffles, frills, beads, knitwear, mix matched new composed materials, and light materials are dominant. While short and simple shape of hair-styles were predominant in the past, now we see more varied hair length. Not only that, variety of perms and colors are showed on TV screens. Hence, the results show that a lot of radical change has happened in the men's fashion, and marketing propositions that reflects this change in men's fashion market are requested along with trendy emotional product development and coordination proposals, and finally calls for more multilateral study and market search of male consumers.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the mix design of pH reducing cement concrete which can be used for environment-friendly concrete. Cement pastes and concretes are prepared with water-binder ratios and various admixtures such as blast-furnace slag, fly ash and recycled cement, and tested for compressive strength and pH. pH is measured through pore solution expressed from hydrated cement paste by special apparatus. From the test results, regardless of water-binder ratio, The pH of expressed pore solution from hydrated cement paste which is made of ordinary portland cement with blast-furnace slag, fly ash is decreased with increasing of admixtures content, and compressive strength is also slightly improved. The compressive strength of cement paste made of recycled cement which is burnt at $1000^{\circ}C$, for 2 hours is considerably increased compared with that of none-burnt recycled cement due to restoration of hydraulic property, but pH is a little higher. Porous concrete with ordinary portland cement has high pH in the range of 12.22 to 12.59, however, that is reduced to the range of 8.95 to 10.39 by carbonation at the surface of porous concrete. The pH reduction of porous concrete is possible by various admixture addition, however their degrees are very slight. Therefore, to reduce the pH considerably, carbonation method of porous concrete is better in pH reduction methods for plant survival condition of pH of 9.0 or less. In this study, it is apparent that pH for the environment-friendly porous concrete products used in the construction field can be suppressed by this carbonation method and various admixtures addition.

This research was performed to investigate the mechanical performance of lightweight concrete including phase changing material(Low temperature PCM). Micro capsulised PCM consisted of wax type core and melamine based wall. Also, for PCM of one single kind, paraffin wax was inserted into Vermiculite and the surface was coated with melamine resin. Interfacial polymerization is based on the principle that macromolecule reaction takes place on the surfaces between 1-dodecanol(core material) and water (solvent) to form the wall material. Lightweight concrete has compressive strength of 10 MPa, tensile strength of 1.5 MPa, and oven dried density of 1.0kg/liter which included 10%, 20%, or 30% PCM by weight. To do so, this study fabricated light-weight foamed concrete ($1.0kg/m^3$) in pre-foaming method and mixed it with PCM micro capsule of 1-dodecanol and melamine to examine its physical properties.

In our researches we made mix-design, with the mixing ratio and pre-cracked ratio of steel fibrous different from each other, building the steel fibrous concrete beam which had pre-cracks. To obtain the fracture characteristics of steel fibrous reinforced concrete, series of experiment were conducted on pre-cracked beam subjected to 3-point bending. Thus, we carried out experiments on the destructive characteristics of its pre-crack and post-crack and the result is as follows. 1. The compressive strength of steel fibrous concrete beam increased more slightly than plane beam, and the tensile strength increased 37%, 59%, 94% and 121% respectively when the amount of fibrous was 0.5%, 0.1% 1.5%, and 1.75% respectively. 2. As the amount of steel fibrous mixing increased ant the steel fibrous inhibited the crack growth, the crack condition of steel fibrous concrete beam was retarded irregularly, and this increased fracture load. 3. The defiance of destruction was reduced in the ratio of 1.35 times and 1.22 times respectively when the length of pre-crack was each 2cm and 4cm in comparison with the case of being without the length, and was similar to that of plane beam when the amount of steel fibrous mixing was below 1.0%, and increased linearly when it as above 1.0%. 4. The experimental formula seeking fracture energy was follows and thus we found that the value of fracture energy depended upon tensile strength and the size of speciment. $G_f=K\;{\cdot}\;f_f^'{\cdot}$da/Ec 5. We observed that in the load-strain curve of steel fibrous concrete beam the progress of the crack became slow, compared with plane beam because the crack condition became long to the extent of about 10 times. Concrete was faultiest brittleness fracture through the study, it was known ductile.
PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to develop bridge deck concrete materials based on ordinary Portland cement concrete, and to evaluate the applicability of the developed materials through material properties tests. METHODS : For field implementation, raw material (cement, fine aggregate, and coarse aggregate) properties, fresh concrete properties (slump and air content), strength (compressive, flexural and bond strength) gain, and durability (freeze-thaw resistance, scaling resistance, and rapid chloride penetrating resistance) performance were evaluated in the laboratory. RESULTS : For the selected binder content of $410kg/m^3$, W/B = 0.42, and S/a = 0.48, the following material performance results were obtained. Considering the capacity of the deck finisher, a minimum slump of 150 mm was required. At least 6 % of air content was obtained to resist freeze-thaw damage. In terms of strength, 51.28 MPa of compressive strength, 7.41 MPa of flexural strength, and 2.56 MPa of bond strength at 28 days after construction were obtained. A total of 94.9 % of the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity after 300 cycles of freeze-thaw resistance testing and $0.0056kg/m^2$ of weight loss in a scaling resistance test were measured. However, in a chloride ion penetration resistance test, the result of 3,356 Coulomb, which exceeds the threshold value of the standard specification (1000 Coulomb at 56 days) was observed. CONCLUSIONS : Instead of using high-performance modified bridge deck materials such as latex or silica fume, we developed an optimum mix design based on ordinary Portland cement concrete. A test construction was carried out at ramp bridge B (bridge length = 111 m) in Gim Jai City. Immediately after the concrete was poured, the curing compound was applied, and then wet mat curing was applied for 28 days. Considering the fact that cracks did not occur during the monitoring period, the applicability of the developed material is considered to be high.

Repairing timing and the extended service life with repairing are very important for cost estimation during operation. Conventionally used model for repair cost shows a step-shaped cost elevation without consideration of variability of extended service life due to repairing. In the work, RC(Reinforced Concrete) Column is considered for probabilistic evaluation of repairing number and cost. Two mix proportions are prepared and chloride behavior is evaluated with quantitative exterior conditions. The repairing frequency and cost are investigated with varying service life and the extended service life with repairing which were derived from the chloride behavior analysis. The effect of COV(Coefficient of Variation) on repairing frequency is small but the 1st repairing timing is shown to be major parameter. The probabilistic model for repairing cost is capable of reducing the number of repairing with changing the intended service life unlike deterministic model of repairing cost since it can provide continuous repair cost with time.
