NORAD Two Line Element (TLE) is very useful to simplify the ground station antenna pointing and mission operations. When a satellite operations facility has the capability to determine NORAD type TLE which is independent of NORAD, it is important to analyze the applicable tracking data arcs for obtaining the best possible orbit. The applicable tracking data arcs for NORAD independent TLE orbit determination of the KOMPSAT-1 using GPS navigation solutions was analyzed for the best possible orbit determination and propagation results. Data spans of the GPS navigation solutions from 1 day to 5 days were used for TLE orbit determination and the results were used as Initial orbit for SGP4 orbit propagation. The operational orbit determination results using KOMPSAT-1 Mission Analysis and Planning System(MAPS) were used as references for the comparisons. The best-matched orbit determination was obtained when 3 days of GPS navigation solutions were used. The resulting 4 days of orbit propagation results were within 2 km of the KOMPSAI-1 MAPS results.

As a multi-mission GEO satellite, Communication, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) is scheduled to be launched in the year 2009. COMS has three different payloads: Ka-band communication payload, Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) and Meteorological Imager (MI). Among the three payloads, MI and GOCI have several conflict relationships; one of them is that if MI mirror moves vertically larger than 4 Line Of Sight (LOS) angle while GOCI is imaging, image quality of GOCI becomes degraded. In this paper, MI scheduling algorithm to prevent GOCI's image quality degradation will be presented.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicles(AUVs) have become an important tool for various purposes in subsea: inspection, recovery, construction, etc., and the development of autonomous control system is luglay desirable- thete zffe many problems associated with designing the control system for AUV due to unknown underwater envimn-Tnent, the possibility of subsystem failures, and unpredictable changes in the dynamics of the vehicle. In this paper, an autonomous control system based on the intelligent control theory to enhance operation efficiency of the ALTV is presented. The control system has a hierarchical structure which consists of mission planning level, mission control level, navigation level, and execution level. The performance of the control system is investigated by computer simulation. The results show that the proposed control system can be applied successfully to the AUV in spite of the possibility of failures in the vehicle and the collision hazard in the sea environment.

ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff in developing an WMA-EA(Warfighting Mission Area-Enterprise Architecture) tries to create the practical buildup requirements of military power through precise requirements and operational capabilities based on the architectures. However, it is difficult to verify the effectiveness of target architectures and do efficient requirement planning because we cannot know the gap of quantitative combat effectiveness between current and target WMA-EAs. This study presents an evaluation method of combat effectiveness and focuses on combat's positive effects in WMA-EAs. The method proposed is based on C2 model which is appropriate for the evaluation of combat effectiveness in architectures. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed method through a case study of an anti-ship warfare architecture.

Virtual Fire Control System(VFCS) in attack helicopter is developed. VFCS is comprised of multifunction display, store management computer, mission computer, target acquisition and designation system, mission planning system, weapon simulator and flight simulator. Weapon engagement process under the operational environment of helicopter was considered by using the VFCS. We considered hellfire missile, tow missile, unguided rocket and turret gun. The results of this study will be utilized efficiently on integrated fire control system SIL(System Integration Lab.) in attack helicopter.
On March 6 2021, Apophis made a close approach to the Earth with a minimum distance of 0.11 AU when the apparent magnitude reached up to V~16. This was the most favorable condition to observe this asteroid until its 2029 encounter. The observations during this apparition were extremely important to determine major physical properties, such as size, rotational state, 3D shape model, surface mineral properties. So, we organized the observation campaign during the 2021 apparition. The main goals of our campaign are to refine the spin state and 3D shape model and check the surface composition variations. The campaign involved dozens of countries and included ground-based photometry and spectroscopy, and spacecraft observations. Our timely observation campaign will provide essential data in planning the operation scenario for the space mission. In this presentation, we will report the preliminary result of the Apophis observation campaign during the 2021 apparition.

In this paper, two algorithms to solve the path planning problem with constraints from obstacles are presented. One proposed Algorithm is "Grid point-based path planning". The first step of this algorithm is to set points which can be the waypoints around the field. These points can be located inside or outside of the field or the obstacles. Therefore, we should determine whether those points are located in the field or not. Using the equations of boundary lines for a region that we are interested in is an effective approach to handle. The other algorithm is based on the boundary lines of the agricultural field, and the concept of this algorithm is well known as "boustrophedon method". These proposed algorithms are simple but powerful for complex cases since it can generate a plausible path for the complex shape which cannot be represented by using geometrical approaches efficiently and for the case that some obstacles or forbidden regions are located on the field by using a skill of discriminants about set points. As will be presented, this proposed algorithm could exhibit a reasonable accuracy to perform an agricultural mission.

The study investigates the impact of strategic planning (SP) factors on service quality (SQ) in private universities (PUs) in Oman and how they fit together in the development of higher education institutions (HEIs). The reports of the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) in Oman revealed that the service quality in private universities is unsatisfactory. This study employs a quantitative method. Data were collected from a sample of 730 academics and administrators. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on AMOS software was applied for data analysis. The results of the structural paths showed that, among the strategic planning factors, only environmental scanning and leadership had a direct significant impact on service quality. However, mission statement and participation had insignificant direct impact on service quality. The findings suggest that environmental scanning and leadership are critical factors in predicting service quality dimensions of private universities. The findings add to the body of knowledge particularly in the Omani context, which can be useful in the neighboring countries as well. The study combines two different popular models in addressing service quality. The study also clarified the importance of each factor of the strategic planning process, which give a comprehensive picture of the university.
The power simulator for a LEO satellite is a useful tool to analyze mission validity and energy balance for various mission scenarios by estimating power generation, power consumption, depth of discharge, bus voltage, charging/discharging current, etc. In this paper, it is described the calculation algorithm of the solar array (SA) power, the satellite load power and the battery modeling method to develop a satellite power simulation. To simulate the SA power generation, three different operation modes (DET, MPPT, CV) of SAR (Solar Array Regulator) are considered with a SA model. The satellite load power is estimated using the satellite unit power database, the unit on/off configuration at some satellite operation modes. The bus voltage and battery charging/discharging current at the specific DoD (Depth of Discharge) are calculated based on the battery characteristics. By this satellite power simulator, it can be conveniently analyzed the energy balance and the validity of a planned mission of a LEO satellite.

The Mission Control System for KOMPSAT-2 was developed by ETRI and is being operated at Satellite Control Center at KARI to monitor and control KOMPSAT-2 (KOrea Multi-Purpose Satellite) which was launched in July 28th, 2006. MCE provides the functions such as telemetry reception and processing, telecommand generation and transmission, satellite tracking and ranging, orbit prediction and determination, attitude maneuver planning, satellite simulation, etc. KOMPSAT-2 is the successor of KOMPSAT-1 which is an earth-observation satellite. KOMPSAT-2 has higher resolution image taking ability due to MSC (Multi Spectral Camera) payload in the satellite and precise orbit and attitude determination by Mission Control System. It can produce one meter resolution image compared to six meter resolution image by KOMPSAT-1.
